View Full Version : BluRay copy of Planet Earth not loading

I rented Planet Earth from Netflix and when putting the BD in my PS3 it does not do anything. The icon that normally shows up when a movie is in the machine does not show up. I have tried turning auto-startup on to see if that helped and it did not. I am using the most recent firmware version and this seems to only happen on this movie. None of my other BD's do this. Any suggestions? (PS, This is the 3rd copy of this movie that i've tried)
how dirty is the bottom of the disk?
is it all dirty or smudged?
that might have summat to do with it.
Yea you may need to clean the discs. Are you getting this issue with each of the discs or just the first 1?

The bottom the of the disk looks good. i cleaned it anyway just in case but it didn't do any good.. also, i only have disc one so i cannot check any of the others.
i dunno what to tell you mate sorry :(

Yeah, they actually had that problem!! Check it out! Hahaha.
If its the disc its self, and other Blu-ray discs work fine, then its the disc obviously and not your player. Hmmm...... or perhaps the specific player in question has issues with that particular disc. Hard to say really.

mrnagy88 - No it's not an HD DVD. If i had one of those discs in my house, i would ask that you shoot me in the face.

I am currently experiencing the same problem with my copy of planet earth bluray. disc 1 will not load, my ps3 used to read it not long ago, but all of a sudden it wont read the disc. no icon pops up and the disc keeps speeding up and slowing down, like the ps3 is trying to read it. all the other discs and all my blurays discs, including my games work. except for this disc. im not sure how to correct it, the disc is not scratched or smudged. if someone has this same experience and has fixed it, please reply.

ive rented each of the 4 discs from blockbuster.....i had 2 copies of the 3rd disc (in a row!) that would not play in my PS3...it was just messed up discs....
you might have a bad disk...check to make sure it is not crack either...

definitely messed up. My mess up disc was disc 2. It took me 4 copies from blockbuster. At one point they sent me two at the same time. the first two btw had cracks inside the disc, not scratches, but cracks/ridges in the disc, so obviously the factory but out some bad batches.
