HD-DVD Supporters:

Paramount go HD-DVD exclusive. Fans are ecstatics about upcoming HD-DVD releases. TransFormers, and Spielberg movies right up there in highest demand.

Spielberg, and Bay make their opinions public. Spielberg null and voids his contract and decides Blu is the way. Paramount, and Toshiba write him a public apology. HD-DVD fans voice their opinions and boycott Spielberg films.

The same with Transformer´s director, Michael Bay. Bay publicly pisses on the HD-DVD. This is followed by a bunch of person attacks on him as a person, and a director.

maybe he could make a good movie rather than provide blu fanbios more fodder

Oh and the difference will be less extras

Rumour has it he likes little boys.

They were certain that their format would win the war. Before Warner had even made an announcement it was rumored and reported that Warner had decided on HD-DVD.

After Warner´s announcement Toshiba made an announcement trying to shame, and humiliate Warner by saying that they care more about the money than the peoples choice.

Now that Blu-Ray is proving to be more dominant in this war HD-DVD supporters state that since HD-DVD hasn´t won then Blu-Ray will also fail and the future will be Vudu (Digital Downloads). Supposedly Warner´s tactic is to end the High-Def war by pushing a, and I quote, pushing the more expensive, and less capable player to the consumers so that they will eventually be rejected and introduced to Vudu (Digital Downloads).

To sum this all up this war has turned people away from what it should be about: the god **** movies. People are more supportive of the format and the companies behind them rather than the studios and the movies they release.

It has all gotten ridiculously stupid.

Some of this is really ridiculous. They don't know anything really that goes on inside the corporations. They were just saying some of these things because their format lost. There just needs to be acceptance and then they need to move on.

Its all good becuase you know that the Hd-dvd camp is going to put out a lot of FUD about Bluray just like everyone hating on the PS3.

I don't see how anyone can honestly have any zeal for HD-DVD.. It has inferior audio capabilities and has ten fewer gigabytes of storage per layer... It also scratches just as easily as a normal DVD because it uses a similar replication process..

HD-DVD was half assed from the get go. If they want to get bent out of shape over it, let them broadcast to the world their support for mediocrity. I know that BluRay winning is the best thing for me, the consumer. I know that having one format means that movie studios can focus on supporting HD. I know that if Apple can popularize BluRay in the PC space that developers won't have to short any feature of their software for the sake of disc space.

BluRay compromises nothing. It's the best technology. All HD-DVD had going for it was MS moneyhatting it stillborn and a name that its supporters wrongly believed that the "sheepish dolt idiot consumer" would "identify" better with. They underestimated you and lost. End of the flippin' story.

Man, you put it like it is. I agree with you on your statement. I just don't see what the big deal is with HD-DVD.

I can't call myself a film buff, but i enjoy certain films. They are
mostly hit films, i'm an average consumerfrom the get go anyways.

I believe most consumers are not film buffs or tech savy. They only
care about which films can they get on their format, not which codec
is superior & all that tech geek stuff. So over a year ago, to my under
standing only Universal Studios was a major player for hd-dvd at the time.

Without a doubt blu-ray had a better selection of films than hd-dvd hands
down. That's why if i bought a 360 i would never buy hd-dvd + us average
consumers can't & won't support 2 formats. Only film buffs with expandable
cash have this luxury. So why are hd-dvd enthusiast misleading the average
consumer even if that consumer is an early adopter by pushing hd-dvd players
on them at stores & websites +message forums when average consumer only
care about film choices.

Because your all fanatical zealots, look at the world today, is it better off due to
zealots with their hatred, have u checked the news lately. Soooo get off your high
horse & just move on + stop bashing. Enough with the fud & excuses, your only
preaching to the other fanatical zealots, your not helping.

Yeah, a lot of pots calling the kettle black. The number of fanatical zealots in these forums is astounding. Maybe it's just me, but people going crazy over bits of electronics and plastic sounds a little weird.....

I know what the posters above you are talking about, I am an average consumer as well. BUT I can't help but smile at Blu-Ray getting its own back. There is so much FUD made up about it and the PS3 that this news is like we are getting our own back.....

Sounds like I'm taking sides but TBH thats how I see it. This war is splitting the consumer down the middle...

There is a lot of garbage posted on these forums about HD DVD too... always remember that, the door definitely swings BOTH ways when it comes to this. There ain't many saints around here.

Well being a PS3 forum there more likely to be bias against HD DVD. Many people are not going to be posotive about a format thats trying to wipe out the one that they own and so people start FUD in the vain hope that their FUD will make some subtle difference which will swing the balance, its only when people get into positions of power where there voices are heard (e.g. SOME Engadget writers) when the s**t hits the fan

Well said, I would feel the same way if HD-DVD was in fact the better format. Regardless of who is backing who I as the comsumer want what is best for ME and no one else.
Warner moving over is just one more step in making HD a standard in homes, I know for a fact that many people now are simply affraid to buy any new player as they do not know what choice to make.

When is Universal's agreement up??

imho...the problem is that people who look at blu-ray and only see sony...and don't realize that there are several companies behind this format...and because of this view they have...people automaticly think the format is a failure because of sony's previous attempts...it is sad that people still think like this...
