Steven Gerrard and Cesc Fabregas robbed during quarter final clash.

Thieves took advantage of the " Battle of Britain " Champions League
match Between Liverpool and Arsenal to burgle two more footballers homes. The first unfortunate player was Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard. The crooks got away with countless items of football memorabilia including many of Gerrard's own medals. Amongst the items currently being hunted by police are:

2 FA Cup winners medals
FA Youth Cup winners medal
2 league cup winners medals
Champions league winners medal
Uefa cup winners medal
2 super cup winners medals
2 charity shield winners medals

They also took a number of personal awards including. player of the
year, young player of the year and his much cherished MBE

The other unfortunate player to be targeted was Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas.

Thieves are thought have escaped with a kettle and a toaster.

34 - 5 To Liverpool, not bad for 10 games, 3.4 goals per game and 0.5 conceded, with Chelsea's on pitch trouble at the moment (aka, the Janitor hasnt a clue) and Liverpool looking ever more focused on the pitch (just not off it ) We should create a comfortable lead on tuesday.

I would be very suprised if we manage to score more than 2 but heck even a 0-0 wouldn't be so bad to take to silent bridge.

I have to agree with Phaded, not scoring tomorrow is suicide, even a score draw is really bad, Liverpool have to win tomorrow. But Im confident they can break Chelseas home run, they broke Inter's run.

History and stats tell a different story to be honest we have knocked out chelsea twice in CL semi finals. You are just bitter due to the fact that arsenals season is over..... again.
What amazes me is that you would rather have chelsea win the tie considering chelsea are one of arsenals biggest rivals.
You sir are a plastic football supporter with next to no knowledge of football.

Why would it be that bad we could go through on a 1-1 at silent bridge. This season apart from the league cup we have outplayed chelsea twice and deserved to win both games. I'm pretty optimistic that we will make the final again, considering Rafa has only ever lost 1 CL tie.

What the **** are you on about?... I'm still trying to understand what **** you just spouted out of your mouth.
Since your so easily wound up please read this(if you can)

Arsenal Crumble

INGREDIENTS

Ready Made Crumble Mix

1 German Prune (well passed its sell by date)

4 French Lemons

3 African Melons

1 Spanish Plumb

2 Brazilian Nuts

2 English Gooseberries, if you have them lying around (please note! These fruits are seriously over rated!)

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

It is recommended that you adhere to the recipe but as it is an 'Arsenal Crumble' some cheating is expected

For a good 'Arsenal' crumble topping the ingredient need to be well beaten before cooking (5-1 should do it!)

Add all the fruits together in a hot cauldron (Anfield is perfect) and make sure they stew for 90 minutes You will know that they are properly stewed as they will completely break down and lose all of their structure.

Add a generous splash of 'Chateau Wenger' whine to add to the sour taste.

Once this has been done cover with the crumble mix and place into a very hot oven (Old Trafford) for a further 90 minutes.

The 'Arsenal Crumble' is now complete!!!

Arsenal supporters may find this dish very bitter to swallow!!

If so they can help themselves to a large slice of humble pie which we made earlier!!!

Oh yeah please don't double post either.

sounds nice ill give it a try shall i buy the ingredients and you cook HONY?

ill eat Arsenal crumple tomorrow cause im having 2night some Liver Birds they are tasty you gotta try it, but one problem the birds that im eating have a disease called Bird Flue on the other hand i can eat it cause i have the Arsenal fever (there arent any diseases worse than Arsenal fever)

im not good at cooking but can you try this and till me if its good or not.

how about this :liverPie(11)

2 cups of crap ( will give it chocolate color)

3 bags of torres finest $hi* (will give it the nice flavor of liverpie)

5 small brains without bones ( will make the mixture together)

Any fan would act in this manner, as they are fighting for what they believe in (their team) Its just a pitty people take it too far and just start mouthing off in a non-sensical language (nightcrawler).

Anyway what happened yesterday has happened and I dont blame Riise, he's served the club well for many years and I dont think we can blame him for one misstake (even Gerrard and Carragher have made the same error).

"Riise is a ginger **** and he's ruined our chances"

"Torres let us down last night"

"Riise to die, etc"

All coming from Liverpool fans, it's bad to see fans make comments like these, not exactly loyal.

Yeah maybe some people did say that but only in the heat of the moment. Riise is a true red but the last few seasons he has been poor and should be shipped out to benefit himself and the club. If it wasn't for cech last night we would have won about 2-1 or 3-1 as it is chavski can't find the back of the net to save their lives, I'm optimistic if we get an early goal at stamford library and keep attacking we will progress.

Obviously those people cant grab the concept of an accident, I bet those people also feel they could have done a better job last night too, but their words speak far louder than their actions ever could.

Yeah agreed Chelsea have been so lucky so far they have had olypiakos then Fenerbache which they even lost the away tie. Where as Liverpool have had the hardest run so far with Inter Milan and then Arsenal so if anyone was to deserve to make the final it would be Liverpool.

That's BS to be honest. It's true he isn't a tactical wonder, but his success didn't just come from unlimited funds and time. You think a lot of other managers could've pulled United from the depths of the 80's and produce one of the greatest sides in English football largely from their own youth like he did? While I agree he could've been sacked after his first few unsuccessful seasons, that doesn't make his achievement any less impressive. But you're right on the first bit, if he had employed better tactics in Europe, his CL count should be higher considering the amazing squads he's built.

What you do need to consider, though, is that the Hillsborough disaster benefited up one heck of a lot in a non-macabre sense because we had already made financial plans for an all-seater stadium at Old Trafford. This, together with Sky's money, allowed us to push ahead and we'd have spent on players had only a couple of come through rather than the six or seven that did. Fergie's been a lucky manager down the years but everything he does is for the good of United rather than for individual players and that's a credit to him.

He probably should have won more titles in Europe, but don't forget that you have 3 or 4 top teams from La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga to compete against now rather than 1 from each pre-CL. Bear in mind that he was also hamstrung by the plc's wage cap at a time when we could compete on transfer fees but not wages, so missing out on the likes of Zidane, Boksic and Roberto Carlos.

More to the point, why get rid of Alonso, he's one of the best passers of the ball, I think if Rafa's going to buy anything its a new striker, we only have Torres and Crouch (the others suck) and it looks likes Crouch is leaving, if only we could match Abramovich's 80Mill Messi offer, can you imagine Torres and Messi up front

Messi won't join Chelsea, Abramovich seems to think he can throw his money around and get any player he wants, he doesn't seem to realise that some players consider loyalty a bigger factor and this includes players like Torres who turned down a Chelsea offer after the last WC. Quaresma would be a great buy for you, including Babel on the wing then your set for a few years as they are both young.

On another note a lot of people, including some good sources, seem to think Lahm is on his way to United. Interesting.

no not that what you need run and crosses the perfect winger should be able to get through the defense and penant isn't that good at dribbling (:snicker I can dribble better than him) example of perfect winger is: Giggs I know he's old but he is still the best winger IMO if he has played for england they would've won the world cup

LOL Pennant is nothing special a decent squad player at best, he's lazy rarely defends, has bad positioning(hence 3 goals in liverpool career), inconsistent and his only real ability is crossing. Players like this are holding Liverpool back, to win/challenge for the title we need world class wingers not arsenal rejects.

Why is that justice? a goal is a goal, just cos Stevie G won't let Torres take penalties then that's their problem. Besides like i said earlier it's based on points, Ronaldo is ahead because of where he has scored his goals, IE Premier League which a person gains more points for because it's the best league. Huntelaar has scored more goals than Ronaldo in the league this season.

You sounded serious, which would be worrying. It's a discussion that I've witnessed a lot. Minimizing a player's amount of goals because he also takes penalties. In the end, free kicks and penalties are all goal scoring skills, and require serious mental and technical qualities at this level of football.

Yes, but Darren Bent was playing regular football for Charlton, in which he scored quite a few goals and was having a good season. Crouch however has only 12 months left on his contract, which won't be renewed now, as well as the fact he has hardly played all season and is completely out of favor with the manager. Not really we scored the most goals this season 119 in all competitions. We have to stop drawing silly games especially at Anfield we need new wingers and full backs for some flair and creativity, we can be so one dimensional at times.

Liverpool are Europe's number one - it's official
May 28 2008 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL will go into the forthcoming season as Europe's number one ranked team.
The Reds top UEFA's official rankings thanks to their Champions League performances over the past five seasons.

Having won the competition in 2005, been runners up to AC Milan in 2007 and made it through to the semi-finals this year, Rafa Benitez's team has accrued more ranking points than any other club in Europe.

Liverpool top the rankings table with 104.284 points, giving them a one point lead over Italian giants AC Milan.

Next on the list are Chelsea and Barcelona, with Arsenal in sixth and current Champions League holders Man United in seventh.

Other British teams on the list include Newcastle in 19th, Rangers in 20th, Middlesbrough in 27th, Spurs in 31st, Bolton in 41st, Everton in 44th and Celtic in 52nd.

Liverpool have moved up from third to first thanks to last season's run to the semi-finals, meaning they top UEFA's rankings for the first time since 1985.

Their recent form in the Champions League also means that they will go into the qualifiers for next season's competition as number one seeds and will thereby avoid the other seeded teams when the draw for the qualifying rounds is made in July.

Meanwhile, Krisztian Nemeth's rapid progress since joining Liverpool last summer has been recognised by Hungary who have called the teenage striker into their senior squad for Saturday's international with Croatia.

The 19-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the stars of Gary Ablett's title-winning reserve side after moving to the club from MTK Hungaria in July 2007.

A string of dazzling performances and several eye-catching goals in a debut season in which he finished up as top scorer have marked Nemeth out as a player for the future and Benitez believes he has the ability to challenge for a place in Liverpool's first team.

The Reds boss said: "He is a player with game intelligence, with ability and someone who can score goals. He is a player we are keeping an eye on for the future.

"He must keep working. I think he will be much better in time because he wants to learn."

At the weekend, Nemeth fired Hungary's under-19 side to the European Championships with the only goal of the game against Portugal.

Liverpool To Offer ₤20m For Ribery

The French international, widely tipped to star for Les Bleus at EURO 2008 next month, has catapulted himself to superstardom since his arrival in Bavaria last summer.

The 25-year-old journeyman is now recognised as one of the most dangerous wingers in the game, alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

His performances for Bayern have alerted some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and reports from Germany claim Liverpool will offer ₤20 million for the former Marseille man.

Benitez is keen to strengthen his attacking options over the summer, and has been monitoring a number of wide players, including La Liga stars Maxi Rodriguez and Albert Riera.

Ribery’s ability to play right across the pitch will no doubt attract the former Valencia boss, as will the Frenchman’s supreme understanding with Bayern hitman Luca Toni.

Benitez is planning to build a team around star striker Fernando Torres, and Ribery could prove a stunning addition alongside Dutch youngster Ryan Babel and Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard in the Reds’ 4-2-3-1 formation.

However, as Bayern paid around ₤17 million for the former Marseille man only a year ago, Rafa and co may have to up their bid if they wish to prise one of Europe’s most exciting talents away from the Allianz Arena.

The 21-year-old player will be sidelined several weeks, the Dutch soccer association said. Coach Marco van Basten did not announce a replacement.

RAFA AWARDED HONORARY DOCTORATE
Steve Hunter 04 June 2008

Rafael Benitez is today being honoured in his homeland with an Honorary Doctorate from the Miguel Hernandez University (Elche) in the province of Alicante.
The Liverpool manager will be joined by his family for the ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.

The award is to recognise his stature as a coach and the way he uses scientific methodology in his training sessions.

Also expected to attend the event are celebrities from the world of sport and culture, as well as politians from the academic field.

Before he receives his award, Benitez will meet up with students currently studying sports sciences at the UMH.

Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I'm really pleased and proud.

"The award is in recognition of a long career in football. It's not easy to spend so long in one career after you leave university and so I am delighted.

"Of course to have a long career you need the support of your family and the other people behind you on your staff. I've had that and been fortunate that everyone has been working really hard with me."

Andrea Dossena is delighted to become the first Italian international to play for Liverpool

The Udinese left-back will complete his move to Anfield in the coming days after undergoing a medical on Merseyside earlier this week.

Speaking exclusively to skysports.com, Dossena's agent Federico Pastorello revealed his client's delight at signing for Liverpool.

"I understand he is the first Italian international to play for Liverpool - a great opportunity for him and he is really happy," Pastorello revealed.

Dossena is expected to finalise his transfer in the next 48 hours before being unveiled by The Reds next week in a deal believed to be worth around £7million.

"He had his medical on Wednesday and we are just awaiting the formalities of that but we would think everything will be signed very shortly," he continued.

"An agreement between the clubs was hard, but we all found it and everything is now ready."

The 26-year-old had a tremendous campaign with Udinese, which included his debut for Italy, and Pastorello admits Liverpool beat a number of clubs to seal his signature.

"There were many teams interested in him," he confirmed.

"He was the best left-back in Italy last year, arguably along with the boy [Juan]Vargas at Catania.

"So it was natural that there will be interest in the best left-back in Serie A, but to have the chance to work with a coach like Rafa Benitez was something he could not turn down.

"That was an important aspect of his decision and he cannot wait to get started."

Why does it matter what team he played for I watched him a few times and he looks good he has been linked to Juventus and Milan and regarded by alot of people the best Italian left back .Also with Rafa's history of signing Agger and Skrtel who are both quality. How have I been blatantly proved wrong? there's no point argueing with Liverpool fans because they always have to be right even if to everybody else they are wrong. You weren't afraid to splash out 20 odd mill on Torres, over the past couple of years you have spent more on players than Man Utd, the difference is instead of buying 2 or 3 players of quality you buy about 6 or 7 crap ones, you would think Benitez would learn by now especially after how well Torres has done for you.

stoney I don't understand what your saying, according to George Best's club history he didn't play for Bournemouth until 1983, 9 years after he finished his Man Utd career... We got George Best from Cregagh Boys Club in 62 and he started his United career in 63.

Rafa has spent £86 million net in 4 seasons FACT an average of £20 million a season, he had to build a team Man United didn't as much. I suppose Daniel Agger is **** because he come from Brondby IF and he attracted no interest from big clubs apart from Liverpool and yet he has the potential to be one of the best Centre Backs in the world. You tell me to stop generalizing fans yet you do it yourself, guess you've been taking some tips on hypocrisy from Stevie G.

I will leave this thread now, i've been proved right even if you may argue that. I add constructive things, Rafa spending on litters of crap is true, make any excuse you want about dodgy American owners and no spending money but surely even you know that United are over £800million in debt because of our owners yet we somehow manage to come up with money.

Also with the likes of Agger etc they were all young when they were bought by better teams. Agger was what? 20? when he was scouted by Liverpool? young players playing for sub-par teams are generally an exception to the rule because they haven't long started their careers but when they do show a bit of talent big teams come knocking. Dossena is like 26 I think and has been playing for sub-par teams all his career with 1 international appearence, which has been 5 or 6 years longer than the likes of Agger when he was signed, yet until now nobody has shown any interest.

But I don't even know why we are arguing at all, this all stemmed from me saying Liverpool should be making some big name signings which is fact, why?, because although I don't like the way Chelsea went about it they raised the bar for a Premier League team to win the league when Abramovich and Mourinho went there. If Liverpool are to make a serious title challenge they need to be signing players like Quaresma, Bentley etc. I'm sure you agree that 4th isn't good enough for a club of Liverpool's stature but that's where you are going to continue to stay unless some big changes are made, you could start by getting rid of crap like Pennant.

Rafa Benitez: I am staying at Liverpool

RAFA BENITEZ today confirmed his "100% commitment" to Liverpool Football Club - despite yesterday's bleak financial figures.
The first accounts produced by Kop Holdings Ltd showed a £33m loss.
While this summer’s transfer budget had already been catered for in the January refinancing package, the Reds boss must still sell to generate further funds – but he insisted today that he remained totally focused on the task of restoring the Reds to the pinnacle of the Premier League.
“I said at the end of the season that I was very happy here and I will say it again,” said Benitez.

“The supporters have been absolutely magnificent with me, the staff are working very hard and I would not have brought players like Fernando Torres and the young players we have here if I did not have a long term vision for the club.

“Now is not the time to be saying goodbye!

“Fernando’s agent has asked about my Liverpool future and my answer is that I am 100% committed.

“If we had a lot of money to spend it would obviously be better. But if we don’t it doesn’t matter.

“It is not about buying the most expensive players, it is about buying the right players and we can sell some players to get the others we need.
“We have the spine of the team and we just need others in other positions.

“Some teams around us are spending £20m and £30m on one or two players. But the important thing is to get the right players and my staff are working hard to do that.”

My admiration and respect for Rafa as a manager is second to none, after all the lies, deceit and back stabbing he has endured he is still 100% committed to our club. Many a manager would have simply walked away but I believe Rafa is the man and always has been.

3-0 down against AC Milan and they won, some call it luck cos they won by pens but to get 3 goals against Italians ain't easy infact nearly impossible.

Roma have completed the signing of Norway international John Arne Riise from Liverpool for £3.96million.

The Reds ace had been in Italy on Wednesday after being granted permission to hold transfer talks with the Serie A outfit.

The 27-year-old former Monaco man has now agreed a four-year contract with Luciano Spalletti's side and will join his new team-mates from July 1.

First choice

Riise had been first-choice at Anfield over previous years but fell out of favour under Rafa Benitez last season, leading to speculation of a possible move to Aston Villa or Newcastle.

However, it is Roma who have won the race to sign the experienced international, who has won over 70 caps for his country.

"Roma announce they have reached an agreement with Liverpool for the acquisition of the sporting rights of the player John Arne Riise with effect from July 1 2008," read a statement on the club's official website.

Liverpool splashed out £4.6million for Riise way back in 2001. He went on to make nearly 350 appearances for the Merseysiders.
