View Full Version : 3 New CoD4 Maps!

Well I'm sure most of us have seen the pictures of the new maps as posted on this website. And I was somewhat not impressed. Don't get my wrong, the maps look amazing, but I just feel as if it took to long for them. Anyway, the first one, 'Broadcast', which seems to be the level from the tv station looks like a sniper's worst nightmare. What I mean by that is that it looks like the same layout as the current map 'Showdown', with nowhere to hide. The second map, titled 'Dusk', could almost be described as 'Ambush' at night.
Third and finally, 'Hill', which was one of my worst level in campaign mode, actually look pretty nice. It seems very large and open which will help some players and hurt the other. Of course, overall I can't say that I'm disappointed because they could have done a lot worse, and we also can't actually judge the maps until we play on them for ourselves.
Anyway, everyone has their opinions and what are yours?

My opinion is any thing is better then the maps we have right now, I am getting so bored of them. So even if these are garbage at least is something new

Are the pics out there the real thing? as they were being questioned and I thought I heard someone say that they are fake. Nothing offical as come out, other then there are 3 and now maybe 4 maps coming (http://ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=125649&page=4).
My opinion won't be stated until I play them for myself.

So where are these pictures you speak of?
sounds like good new to me, i havent seen any screens of the new maps but itll be nice to have a change, doing the same old maps is getting a bit tedious

They look good, Dusk looks a bit crappy though =O looks like a PS2 game lol but the others are good, specially the interior level

I'm not believing anything until it's actually confirmed by Activision/Infinity Ward. Those maps are nothing more than speculation.

Did you ever play SOCOM? Don't complain about how long it took something to come along until you experience the wait for SOCOM maps.
The first map pack came out in March of 06. The next came out in November of 07! The thing is, they were just maps from previous versions of games. They just had to optimize them for SOCOM 3 and CA. That was horrible.

If they're 100% legit maps, then I'm guessing they're just very basic, low res images. They all look poor.
Those look conspicuously like 3 single player levels.
Im not saying that these are fake or whatever, just looks like IW is lacking creativity...
i'm wondering.. how much are they going to charge us with those maps? hehe

They better be free. 1 How long have we been suffering from server issues and they still havent fixed it. 2 They dont allow us to choose our maps so we would pay for maps we hardly get or they get skipped because no one likes it. 3 more games are coming out and this is the only thing that can revive it strong enough to withlast them.
If its not free then it better be like 3 bucks for all of em.

uuummmmmm...i dont know if you have noticed...but ALL the maps are from the single player......
I dont get how people are like omg this map looks like it will suck or omg thats the best map ever.... you have seen screenshots for the love of god and questionable ones at that! Wait until the maps come or we see full gameplay videos of the maps, THEN write an opinion!

Now that just turns me on. I hate snipers, and yes. It's because they kill me. So i do like the non sniper friendly maps, so this i should like.

My friend told me they were trying to sneak in a 4th map also, so i guess we might be getting a 4th. I hope so, and it'll be nice if they're are no leaked pics or any info about it...so it'll be a SURPRISE!

2. you cant even pick the map you want to play in a server

to YOU maybe these apply. I hated in RB6 how you could select the maps because people NEVER got off the **** casino map or LVU campus. When you allow random selection it creates more diversity in your game as obviously a few maps have more areas for snipers and what have you. If you had selection not all would be utilized the same and everyone would just stick to one weapon which is pointless.
Price of ps3 - 4, 5, or 600 bucks
Price of game - 60 bucks
People whining about paying 5 or so bucks for downloadable extras....priceless

i was stating my opinion, that is your opinion, not fact.
alot of maps are usually skipped anyway in random selection, it doesnt solve a **** thing.
and yerh, paying a few pounds for a map may not seem alot to you, but some of us dont have an income and are in college :-|

Hmmm, are these maps gonna be playable with Offline Multi-player???? beacause me and my mates are gettin sick of the originals!?!?!?!?
They look nice im lookn foward 2 broad cast but hill not so much espcially if they put dat huge f**kn gatlling gun in the helicopter i c people fightn and camping for it lol

So we payed $460-$660 not including tax, and NOW we might have to pay for something that should be included??
i could understand if it was like a whole pack, like 7-10 new guns, 5-7 maps, and a few extra game modes....then yes i will pay for it....but just throwing some maps out there and charging for them....no way!!
You payed for the game, and you got it. The way I see it, the game is great as it is. Any extra work they do is above and beyond what they had to, really. Don't get me wrong, I would like them to be free. But I have no problem paying a few dollars for some new maps. If it's that big of a deal to you, don't buy them. I, for one, will pay the couple bucks to enjoy a few new maps.
I have no problem thowing a few dollars on some new maps to make this game that much better after spending all this money on the system and the game.
