Didn't see anything posted yet. I'm not looking to drop $500. Hell, I don't even care about 7.1 even though it's close to standard now. HDMI in would be nice for the future, but not crucial.

I really just want to make sure I can power two speakers pretty loud, but I do like some features. Not sure what brands are good anymore as my current Kenwood is 10-12 years old at least. Somewhere I have a Marantz that even works but I'm not dusting it off.

So I guess this could become an all encompassing thread for you Home Theater buffs, with a starting point of helping someone find a good brand or good series from a company that I can start to investigate.

Cheers.

Depends you want a future proof reciever or not.
I personally won't buy anything with less then 3 HDMI on it.
Any way you can get a good HD decoding reciever with 2 HDMI wiht less then $400.

There is a sticky for this exact thing man. Please post there, as most of us have posted there and we will see your questions easier this way.
