Forgive me if this is a taboo subject on PS3Forums... I'm not entirely sure the forum's views on game emulation, however anyone know anything about getting SNES emulation on the PSP? I can't really find anything, been looking around.

Obviously assuming its already homebrewed.

First you have to create what is called a Pandora's Battery. to do that you need to buy an extra battery (because once this is made the pattery is usless.) then you simply install the emulators that you want. currently I am running SNES, NES, and Genesis emulators.

here are some links to get you started

as far as games go, I'm not sure. a mate of mine got all the games. I'll tell ya though. It is amazing to play sonic 3 and Donkey Kong while waiting to get your oil changed. defiantly worth the time.

I've already gotten the custom firmware on the PSP with the Pandora battery and all that (via the stickied thread that explained how to do it).

Now I'm just wondering where to download the emulators, seems a lot of the ones I find are massively out of date (by like 3-4 years) and don't work on the newer firmwares.

Yea... you really shouldn't post links for ROMs and emulators like that in the open, the site could potentially get in trouble.

google it try snes9xtl, smspsp, dgen for emulators most are on qj-net loads of sites where you can find the roms or use a bittorrent site

Telling someone a name of an emulator is not illegal posting a direct link to a rom is.

There's a link to the ROM/emulator site in the second post, just as bad.

Emulators of abandonware consoles are quite useful and morally correct for me at least. I considering it as preserving videogame culture more than actual piracy. Some videogame companies allow their abandonware games to be distributed for free online while some do not, I guess that has to do with it as well.

ive often wondered if we can talk about emu's/rom's on this forum. personally i think its amazing that these can be run on your pc/psp and bring back some of the memories of your childhood gaming days.

as for psp sites this site is the daddy. more programs than you can shake a stick at:

You need to get the Kernel 1.50 patch thingie to get those emulators to work. You can find it here: http://dark-alex.org/

Without it you won't get any of those old programs to work that haven't been upgraded to work with newer firmwares.

My personal favorite is snes9xtl. There is a version that let's you play two player games via adhoc mode. It's not bad for some games, but it never worked out of me with fighting games. I love it though.
