Wow I played it the other day and man was I blown away at how good that game was and I'm surprised there are stll tons of people playing.
I thought they shut the servers down so I bought combined assault and sometimes theres like 10,000 people playing online at once so yea Socom still has an awesome community but combined assault has a lot of Socom 2 maps like Crossroads, Fish hook and Desert Glory but I'm just waiting for Confrontation to come out.
me too man, confrontation looks sick. heres to hoping its more infantry orientated with a healthy dose of urban environments with some more open sniping maps just for good measure.
i only tried it once and did not like it at all.
EDIT: Sorry, read it as socom (in general), didn't see the 2 there. I used to have it though.
Oh well so the post doesn't go to waste:
I actually just got a new PS2 (traded first one for a 3 and how I missed it so :P), and since I'd never had broadband with my old PS2 I busted out Combined Assault on line the other night and had a ball.
Got TK'd a bit though, that stopped after the guy doing the TKing started being hunted by the rest of us on his team, where he then appeared to pull his head in, lol!
I've also still got the first one but haven't cranked it up in a while!

i was just wondering the same thing. ive been a little bored lately and while ive never played any socom games online ive heard a lot of good things. i only have Combined Assault because its the only one rated T but yeah i was wondering if anybody still played it.

I am a socom 2 player, I will be online in 2 weeks. My screen name is Ray Ray, I will be playing in ensigns only room. Look me up and maybe we can start a clan. My best in a map was 27 kills 6 deaths.8)
The servers are region locked for this game right? Because no one is on when I play.
Plus I feel Socom II was the worst in the series and required 3mb for it's crappy save file.
I picked up socom: Combined Assault the other day for $10AU and have been loving the online mode ever since!
