View Full Version : should sony skip ps3 and just launch ps4?!!!
i'm wonder why sony doesn't just forget ps3 and just launch ps4. it's okay then if they delay to xmas 2006. the reasons for this would be:
1. ps4 is so much better than ps3
2. the games on ps4 is goning to be crazy!!!!!
3. if they launch ps4, then sony would already be next-next-generation, a full generation ahead of xbust 360!!! there would be ZERO reason to buy xbust.
4. i think ps4 would use something like a mind control controller. forget the revolution controler, ps4 would have plugs into your brain where you ENTER the game (i hope)
5. they will kill microsft and nintendo forever cuz you would have to be a total loser to buy 360 or revolution when you can get 1 generation ahead with ps4!!!!! bill gates would be so pissed!!!!!

Just one problem. How do you get Playstation 4 without ever being a Playstation 3! And to do this they would have to atleast double the power of the system to be a full generation ahead. And not many people are going to pay more than $1000 US for this thing you call PS4.

If there was never a PS3, then PS4 will never exist. What is a PS4? It is supposed to be the successor of the PS3. But if PS3 was never launched... how can they know what to build for PS4?
Also if you mean by releasing PS4 which is doubled of all the specs that the PS3 has.. well first, they didn't create it yet, so consumers will have to wait 5-6 more years... and that means PS2 will be here for 6 more years... also if they scrapped out the PS3... right now.. they would have wasted so much money and a lot of broken promises will happen.. which will tank Sony's reputation.

hey, if back in 1999, sony release today's ps3, would anyone buy ps2? of course not! the point is, no one would buy xbust either!!! sony would dominate completely!!!!

this is so stupid. How can they launch ps4 when the technology isn't avaible at this moment? how could they have launched ps3 in 1999? :? They couldn't because this technology in the ps3 wasn't avaible at that time. If we go by your analogy they shold have released ps1000 and thats that. But they can't because technology progreses in time.

3 consoles = competition. If there was only one console, it would be boring and most developers would be too lazy and just wouldn't be motivated.
Also there will and should always be competition because that drives the economy. If it was only one console, it would just be called MONOPOLY which is illegal.
About your situation of never owning a PS2.. you are missing out on a lot of games and fun... but its never too late to try it out because when the PS3 comes out, you can still go buy PS2 games and play it on the PS3.

Neither does yours. Why does there need to be a product called PS3 before there can be a PS4? According to your theory, Microsoft must have had 359 previous models of Xbox before getting to their current XBox 360.

Jesus... it's amazing how people can misinterpret the concept of a Monopoly. It's NOT illegal. Any company can be a monopoly. Microsoft weren't sued for being a monopoly, it was because of their dirty tactics in trying to stay a monopoly and using their power to hamper the competition.
