Hi all,
So if you are a regular visitor you will probably have noticed that Rebon and I have been quite busy over the last few years and finding time for the forums has been tough considering we both have full time jobs. The time required to properly maintain these forums is considerable and perpetually increasing and because of this we feel the time is right to address this issue by promoting a third administrator to assist us.
We feel a third administrator would make a big difference by being primarily responsible for the following tasks:
- Promoting new Mods, SMCs & Shop Clerks.
- Tweaking the board layout (e.g add/remove forums and sub-forums)
- Fulfilling member requests (e.g username changes)
- Arbitrating disputes
- Responding to e-mails from the members (re: ban contesting, e-mail problems and general issues)
- Creating a friendly atmosphere for all ages (13+) to primarily discuss PlayStation.
This will give Rebon and I the time required to properly take responsibility for the essential (but often overlooked) high level maintenance such as:
- Upgrading the forum software to the latest version.
- Working to improve the speed of the servers and forums.
- Ensuring the hacker gets properly removed, and never gets in again
- Adding in new features and modifications
- Ensuring there funding in place to pay for the forum's server costs
- Helping develop the forum policy and direction.
We will of course continue to assist in the other areas but it will be mainly down to the new Admin to take responsibility for them.
We've been talking with Aje (http://www.ps3forums.com/member.php?u=71422) for a while now and we are excited to announce that we have decided to offer him the role. He's been a long term poster of extremely high calibre and has been very active in the moderator role. He is also based in the U.K which allows us to have regular phone conversations with him. So we would like to take this opportunity to wish him the best of luck in the role.
