Fable 2 is the true sequel to the wildly successful original that sold more than 3 million copies, offering even more choices and building on the core gameplay theme of Fable, where a player's every decision continually defines whom they become. Fable 2 is an action role-playing game that truly allows players to live the life they choose in an unimaginably open world environment.

Set 500 years after the original, "Fable 2" will provide gamers with an epic story and innovative real-time gameplay, including a massive amount of freedom and choice to explore a vast collection of dungeons, catacombs and caves in the world of Albion.

Throughout their adventure, players create their own abilities by building vehicles for Banjo to pilot over land, water and air. Vehicle parts, which range from simple devices such as engines and wheels to more unusual equipment such as springs and egg guns, are earned and collected throughout the game. Players use their imagination to combine parts in any order to create whatever vehicle they choose. LOG’s challenges have one goal, but players’ choice of vehicle and tactics will determine how they get there. By exploring worlds and solving puzzles, players both young and old will be rewarded with more advanced and diverse vehicle parts in their quest to defeat Grunty once and for all.

With the power of Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts brings an entirely new experience to the console and takes the franchise to a whole new level of enjoyment. High-definition graphics, user-created content and online gameplay are just three of the many advances people of all ages and skill levels will discover as they embark on their adventure.

With the Marvel MMO officially dead and buried, what's a poor Superhero-MMO developer to do? Turns out that Cryptic Studios, creators of City of Heroes, City of Villains, (and would-be creators of Marvel Unniverse Online) already has another project going. That explains why we've been in the dark about the Marvel MMO for so long, Cryptic's been busy with another project! That new project is called Champions Online and is based on the old-school tabletop RPG of the same name (sans "online").

Champions is still a superhero world, with plenty of customizability that should work great for the world of an MMO. The main character creation mechanic, called the Hero System, allows the player to create custom super-powers. The depth of a tabletop game with the fun of a superhero MMO?

In a post-apocalyptic world where human beings have mutated and divided into two opposing races, Sapiens and Alternatives must battle it out in fierce online first person combat. Andonicos Kalogerou is a man devoted to science and the war against superstition. From his office in the historic centre of Athens, he has worked diligently for more than 5 years, travelling all over Greece and revealing the paranormal for what it truly is: drunken fantasies and uneducated hysteria. But his intelligible, safe little world is going to come crushing down when a call from Pheve, his adopted sister and fervent advocate of the mythic, informs him that his step-father is not only missing, but presumed dead as well.

With a heavy heart, Andronicos travels to the place of his childhood, high atop the Greek mountains, to bury an empty coffin and reunite with his quarrelsome step-sister. Little does he know that each step irrevocably brings him and Pheve closer to what Destiny has in store for them. For the death of their stepfather heralds the beginning of the greatest struggle between good and evil with the prize being nothing less than the very future of this world.

15) Guilty Gear: Overture

(auto-resize: 550x309px, jpeg) (http://www.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/gg2.jpg)

In the far future, humanity succeeded in developing an endless energy called the divine power. But although they were able to obtain wisdom, mankind could not cast aside their foolishness. Tension among the major powers led to the creation of biological weapons that were based on that power - Gears. ustice, the only Gear able to command the legions of biological weapons, went berserk and declared war on all of humanity. That was the beginning of the worst war in history - The Crusades.

In response, mankind formed an order of elite knights, and with their participation, Justice was defeated. With her fall, all Gears ceased to function and entered a dormant state. The long-lasted Crusades came to an end, and it seemed like mankind restored peace.

16) Tales of Vesparia

(auto-resize: 720x405px, jpeg) (http://www.jeux-france.com/Webmasters/Images/6285620071227_151354_4_big.jpg)

The 360 debut of the Tales series follows the quest of a knight named Yuri as he investigates a mysterious ancient technology. Tales of Vesperia will debut on the 360 and marks the first time a Tales game will be presented in HD for in game play and the animated cut scenes. The graphics looked quite nice and gave me a little bit of that Eternal Sonata feeling just not quite as sharp. Vesperia also sports a real time battle system and the ability to customize your characters with various powers and abilities. If you are a Japanese RPG fan, this is one you won't want to miss.

17) Project Offset

(auto-resize: 500x369px, jpeg) (http://images.macnn.com/macnn/news/0802/22-offset-in.jpg)

Project Offset is the very pinnacle of epic fantasy warfare: A class-based union of visceral, close-quarters melee and long-ranged shooter combat set against the backdrop of cataclysmic war. Project Offset provides a high action combat experience with the control scheme and frenetic pace of a FPS, like Halo, but split 50/50 between projectile and melee combat. To realize this goal, an all new hybrid combat model has been created that integrates intense shooter gameplay with a streamlined but strategic melee fighting system.

A combination of attacks, parries, and grab maneuvers, often found in modern fighting games, is simplified to simple button combinations and adapted to a shooter style control scheme. The player is given the ability to block, dodge, and even reflect projectile attacks to balance the melee and ranged combat into a seamless, high intensity battle experience.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is a massively-multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) based on the world and works of acclaimed author Robert E. Howard. In Age of Conan, players enter Hyboria with thousands of their friends and enemies to live, fight, and explore the dark and brutal world of King Conan.

Age of Conan is consistently mentioned as one of the most anticipated MMORPGs games in development. It has received close to twenty magazine covers and more than fifteen awards, including numerous “Best MMO of E3” awards and the official “Best Online Game of Show” award at the GC convention 2007. Age of Conan is a key title in Microsoft's line-up, as well as a showcase title.

19) Elveon

(auto-resize: 800x450px, jpeg) (http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/8365/elveon2qh6.jpg)

Elveon means "The book of elves" and is based on a comprehensive fantasy saga which goes back to the times of the rise of the advanced Elvish civilization. The gods have left the world of Naon in a rush, it is the place they had wanted to transform into their paradise. The Neamas, the elves of the ancient times and fellows of the gods have remained there all alone. A smouldering conflict is gaining more and more importance and a new era starts which is marked by envy, malevolence and relentless wars that prevent the gods’ descendants from entering upon their inheritance.

20) The Crossing

The Crossing is the world's first "cross-play" shooter that fuses single player with multiplayer. What is exactly "cross play"? Well, imagine that in Gears of War, which featured drop-in/drop-out co-op for a friend to take on Dominic Santiago, any Xbox Live player could either take the place of a Locust or a Gears squad member while you are playing the campaign mode. Arkane Studios explains that The Crossing is a first-person shooter that allows players to take on any NPC. That sounds to me like next-generation multiplayer!

The game, which is powered by Valve Software's Source Engine, takes place in Paris, across time and multiple dimensions, in a world where Knights Templar have survived 1307.

About half. Luckily the ones I'm looking forward to are on PC... Left 4 Dead, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction... and then Fable 2 will most likely come to PC.

With these "exclusive games" posts people make... people seem to forget that exclusive means that it's the only thing you can play it on. It's like saying that GTA:IV is exclusive... except if you count the 360.

I'm sure it's meant to be taken as "Xbox 360 *Console* Exclusives for 2008 and Beyond"... but those with a PC will argue all they want because if I can play half the "Xbox Exclusive" games on my PC... then they must not be that exclusive.

I wouldn't even both fighting this fight personally. Someone will just come in call you a fanboy (in so many words) then tell you how you need a 2k-5k USD PC to run these games at any resolution(even tho you don't)

Great post Nuvian. I hadn't realized all those games were coming out, as I hadn't seen them on the other exclusives lists posted here. The nice thing about your post is the summary of each game as well. There are 9 games there I was unaware of and now I have to research those!

Some killer console exclusives there. Awesome upcoming year for the 360.

The 360 games that also show up on PC run better on PC.
They look better on PC.
They're often cheaper on PC.

And yet despite all the childishly exaggerated prices of a decent rig or how often a gfx card needs upgrading - There is still a clear line between those who tend to gravitate towards consoles and those who choose to invest in their PC.

So lets not dance around the obvious.
These exclusive threads are in direct comparison to what the PS3 has and vice versa.
It's only fitting for a site dedicated to the discussion of a console.

Only 2 games on there I'd actually get are Gears 2 (Maybe, depends on multiplayer) and Alan Wake, which is now 2009. I'll get Tales of Vesperia for the PS3 when that comes out eventually.

Great list Nuvian. Definitely some RPG's on there that I really want.

Elveon is no longer exclusive though...let me find some info on it:

You see, 10acle Studios was going under--there stock had fallen by over 85%, so they handed off the project to Climax Group. Climax group is completely re-doing Elveon (from what I've seen and heard they weren't happy with it) and is taking it to the ps3 and 360.

There's been talk of APB coming to PS3, and also serious talk of the 360 version of Project Offset to be canned since Intel bought the engine and rights to the game, and wants to promote their hardware using the game as a showpiece. Great list though regardless.

Not sure why some people keep saying Alan Wake in 2009. It's been stated time and time again that the devs had stated there is no such annoucement.

Well, I didn't even know these titles existed:

Champions Online
Theseis
Guilty Gear: Overture
Project Offset
Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures
The Crossing
Elveon
Warhound

The bold ones interest me. I think based on the summary, those games will do very well. I can't wait to hear more.

There is no truth those statements you made. except for the cheaper part.

Here we go again with PC/exclusivity thing.

Guess what, many of us don't game on the PC so for us the only way to play it is on a console. You want to get it for the PC, get it. Why do you need to announce it to the world? I know why, to show that you think it's not an exclusive. There is no other reason to say "I can't wait to play it on the PC" or any variation of that theme, but to start a fight. So why bother unless you really want to start one.

What's wrong with saying "I can't wait to play it on PC" if the game is announced for PC. I mean if a console owner can say it without inciting trouble why can't a PC owner.

Now a statement which does start a fight would be "OMG! Xbox 360 teh suxorz I could get that **** for my PC."

But the former statement is pretty much innocent.

Maybe people shouldn't assume. However, I feel when a title is "exclusive" when we are on a console forum, we are talking about consoles. These titles are exclusive to only on console.

PC sales haven't really mattered in a long time anyway. They won't sell nearly as many copies as they do on a console.

But if somebody says "I am going to get this title for my PC", it's all good. If someone says "well, this is coming on PC too, so it's not really exclusive" sounds like they are flamebaiting because it's not coming on their "favorite console".

So I think one has to read between the lines to see what the ulterior motive is.

I've played the "its coming to the PC so its not an exclusive" card before when i was a wii/ps3 fanboy, i guess it's an exclusive console wise, but it depends how you look at it.

My question is why would make that statement here, in the 360 forum, if not to start something?

It's like going to the PS3 side and saying that I can't wait to play GTA IV on my 360. It has nothing to do with anything. It has no place there except to start a little war about the game being on the 360 as well as the PS3.
