Heres the quote from the article:

Handheld PC device won't be challenging PSP or DS
Words: Ben Richardson

Microsoft is making a move into the world of handhelds with Origami Project, a portable, paperback-sized PC making an appearance in an online video and an obscure website this week.

But don't expect Origami to challenge PSP or DS. The video shows one user in the middle of a frantic bout of Halo, but a source close to Microsoft has stated that this is the first in a series of touch-screen PDA style devices - it's not a portable Xbox.

From the video, Origami looks quite powerful, even if it is seriously bulky - it gives lost users directions, transfers images and functions as a very expensive remote control.

When we quizzed Microsoft about Origami, it told us that "Origami is a concept we've been working on with partners," before adding "the video seen ... is a year old and represents our initial exploration, including possible uses and scenarios".

Microsoft is rumoured to be making a clearer statement on Thursday 9 March, and we'll have a full update when the info breaks.

Sorry man, I think we already worked this out. Microsoft have already announced Origami isn't a gaming handheld. Bummer really.

From the video, Origami looks quite powerful, even if it is seriously bulky - it gives lost users directions, transfers images and functions as a very expensive remote control.

lol, $500 and up for a remote control? Then again, a remote control that can transfer images and function as a GPS... but you can pick up all the gear that's in an Origami for much cheaper than the rumoured price.

GameStop is dipping their toes into the Pre-order pool to check the temperature on titles a lot these days. The amount of pre-orders a game receives also results in deciding whether the title is worthy of a midnight release or not as well. So it comes as no shock that GameStop, in conjunction with EA Sports, is offering the same opportunity they offered gamers with Killzone 2. That is, the opportunity to play an early access demo before everyone else in the country by pre-ordering your title beforehand.

According to the press release sent out by EA Sports, "Consumers can step into the ring sooner with GameStop’s exclusive pre-order program. By pre-ordering Fight Night Round 4 at their local GameStop, or online at http://www.gamestop.com, fans will receive early access to the game’s demo. The game will be available for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360®™ video game system from Microsoft."

Of course, what's to stop people from throwing down their $5 deposit in order to gain access to the demo code before getting a refund on their money? That's an entirely different issue that GameStop may have to look into.

We'd like to know what our readers think of GameStop taking advantage of their pre-order system like this and if it effects the way you decide you'll purchase a game.
