I was just thinking, we need to get our PS3's as quick as possible, and with the conformation that a Chinese company is making the motherboard, well anything that can be done...should be done, it's not like we are talking about Kathy Lee Gifford clothing, this is important, and with thier little hands, the kids can do an execellent job with assembly, I see no reason that with a little practice a 6 or 7 year old couldn't handle a soldering iron or machine press, they could be cranking these PS3's out 24/7... Literally

You are kidding right?

Have you ever been to a computer manufacturing plant where they make motherboards etc? It's full of corrosive chemicals, toxic fumes, and heavy machinery... Children can't run something like that, you need skilled and semi-skilled technitians... perhaps children could sweep the floor at best... and no this is not a good idea, or a solution to anything.
Have you used a soldering iron before? It takes a lot of practice, involves temperatures of 200°C, and also releases dangerous fumes (esp if there is lead in the metal being used). Where are you from? Another planet? :-P

Wow, when I read this I was thinkin' child abuse.

Kinda. To answer your question, no not really, because kids tend to make lots of mistakes also. And I don't think it would be appropriate for a 6 or 7 year old using those machines.

It's just not right. I would rather give those jobs to other Chinese adults or some other country's adults to do it.

Kids won't be working 24/7 either, it's already too much for adults to work more than 18 hours, let alone children...

I was thinking about the kids making mistakes too, well you could dock them a months wages for say a defect rate of over 1%, or even better you know how kids are frightned by the "dark" you could just lock then in a closet for awhile...

Okay, seriously, whatever you do when you grow up, or if you are... Don't have kids.

That just doesn't cut it. They'll be more scared. They're hands will shake more. It's better off if you just rely on adults than on kids. There are enough adults lookin' for a job anyway.
