Now our source is really sticking her/his/its neck out.
As we told you earlier (http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/index.php/2008/07/source-halo-4-is-already-in-development.html), our inside woman/man/thing got hold of some pretty exciting news.
News that Bungie was already hard at work developing what will be Halo 4.
Now we’re told that this will be announced officially at E3.
The prior news was probably like a weatherman predicting a hurricane “sometime somewhere.” This starts the ticking clock for what would end up being a pretty big deal.
Halo 4. E3.

I was hoping for something a bit more exciting then this for thier big E3 news, hopefully they got more up thier sleeves, cause halo franchise is a money maker for MS so a sequel isn't really big news imo.

The melee system is broken beyond any hopes of repair. It's pure trash.
You people can song and dance around it all you want, and say "Well it's better than the host having an edge like he did in H2". But to this I say:
It's better to let one individual have a chance of unfairly owning you, then every single player in the game.
The campaign in H3 is infinitely better though. A league of it's own in terms of fun.
It took the guy out with the least amount of health when they hit each other pretty much at the same time if i remember correctly? I play big team and never play to win score-wise so that's why i probably don't mind.

I played both halo 2 and 3 and I didnt see much of a difference in multiplayer. Oh yeah and halo 3 was awesome overall.

Meh, Dr Halsey and Kelly are still my favourite characters anywho -- I want them to make an appearance in one of the games.
Oh and 1 on 1, Mendez would own Johnson.

If it's a prequel none of them would be an issue. And, to be honest I much prefer Senior Chief Petty Officer Mendez to Sergeant Johnson ;)I would definitely like to see some of the characters from the book in a game.

Bungie isn't doing anymore halo deries. The game has been handed over to GearBox software. There the makers of BIA3 and the new aliens game.

Lmao I was thinking the exact same thing. I didnt mind getting cheated a little. But now its just out of control.
Also H3 was way better than 1+2 imo.

Only problem with this little theory:
1. 90% of all the spartans are dead. They died on Reach.
2. The few remaining Spartans are trapped with Dr. Halsey on the Forerunner "Shield World". That was prior to the events of H3.
The books. I read them.
Edit: Presuming it's not a prequel... But it'd be pretty gay to play as a Spartan knowing he was gonna get fried at Reach..
Though having a battle at Reach would be epic.

Oh man after the update, most times when you melee someone at the same time they melee you, you both end up dying. This was from about 5 months ago though so I dunno if they changed it.

What I think the object in the last cutscene of Halo 3 was is the rebuilt Onyx, by the Sentinels and MC and Cortana might be able to fight their way into the core of the planet again and meet up with the other Spartans, Dr Halsey and SCPO Mendez. We'll see what happens eventually. That would be a good route that Bungie could take.

I said 3 wasn't as good as I was expecting and that I was let down. It's still a great game when played through co-op with friends. Also, I never said 2 was bad. I quite liked 2.

@daz first of all he says nothing about halo 2 in his post second of all hes not saying its a sub par game (well maybe a little) hes saying it wasnt as good as the other halos so i dont think its cause he is easily entertained...

Didn't Bungie break away from Microsoft for this exact reason, they didn't want to make any more Halo games at the moment, and wanted to work on something brand new.
The source also shows, that this is bogus.

Ha halo 4..... iTz prob one of those things were this one person got confused with halo wars and called it halo 4 but you never know so.....
oddly if this is true i dont care i loved the first 1 liked the second and despised the 3rd (mostly becuase it was the most overrated game of all time if that same game shipped under any other name besides halo like lets say haze it would of gotten 7 and 8's) but hey what the hell do i know

I know he didn't mention 2 in his post, but it still wasn't a great game. The point I was getting at was that so many people were let down by the last two games yet would be head over heals for the next one.......until they get it of course. Who knows though maybe they redeem themselves with a 4th, I doubt it, but there is that chance.

However, didn't Bungie say they were done with the Spartan, Master Chief story? Still doing Halo related games, but not an FPS.

The only reason there's repeated stuff is because people don't make the effort reading the threads they're posting in and yes, I think that's rude. For me forums are all about conversation, how do you have a conversation if you don't read other people's posts?

If I pay attention? Well, I have beat all 3 games on Legendary, by myself and with a friend. I'm pretty sure I know the "storyline."
And actually, I would be pretty speechless if you could sum that storyline up and make it sound like it's something of epic proportions.
I could do that with a Final Fantasy title, but not Halo, not even close.

Havent got a 360, however been round my m8s many times and Halo3 is a big let down for all 360 owners (story line is pointless), would it happen with Halo 4, who knows? could try to improve the amount of chapters lol.

I don't think this would be big news. Microsoft needs to show that there are good new games, not just another sequel to Halo. Sure that's a plus, and I'm sure there are new games to be announced. I'm just saying I don't think there will be as much buzz around 4 as there was around 3.

I came to back up an opinion that I hold as well, not to argue. Your stance on this doesn't make much sense. If you don't have the time to read the thread, don't post in it. A lot of questions are answered if you actually read the thread.

That should have happened already at least once or twice. They probably foresaw that no one would believe them, so they would post it somewhere else.
If there ever is a "Halo 4" it would most likely be an Unreal Tournament-esque. No campaign, just local, LAN and online multiplayer.
it'll probably be a prequel, this way they can use that as an excuse for not having better graphics, being they have to be authentic.

Not too much of a surprise. Halo 3 came out 3/4 of a year ago so I'd expect an announcement for Halo 4 at the biggest gaming show in the world. Personally, I'm more excited with all the JRPG's the 360 has been getting...
Halo 4 = $$$$ and nothing more.
