I bought a laptop about a month ago and like a klutz I dropped it on the sidewalk. Now it's got a weird ticking sound coming from the hard drive and it won't even boot up. So I need a new hard drive.

Anyone know of any good deals? I'm looking for ~200gb, atleast 5400rpm, and under $100. I've found a few, but I'm sure some of you know better.

Also, will I run into any issues reinstalling Vista on the new hd?

Always buy a laptop with a massive hard drive.

Just pick up a drive off of newegg. You can get a 250GB Toshiba drive for about $85.

As for installing Vista, as long as you have the original disc, you shouldn't have any problems.
