View Full Version : Aim Sensitivity - how do you set it in CoD4

I always wondered, how did You set your Aim Sensitivity? I usually had it on High (4/10), and after playing a little CoD on my friends PC i boosted it up on Very High (7/10). I think i'll boost it again in near future. It's a little harder to aim when it's so fast (for me anyway), but you can turn a LOT faster. And the aiming will come eventually.

Does any1 play on Insane?

Did you notice how Aim Sensitivity in other games is a lot slower then the one in CoD4. I played R6 Vegas on the highest setting, and it was still very slow. GTA4 too.
I love CoD4, it's really fast, like you have a mouse.

Ever since i started playing CoD4, i just can't get into any other shooter. I tried a lot of them, but nothing. I'm really hoping Resistance 2 will change things (i loved the first part, but stopped playing it when i got CoD4).

CoD4 threads are dying lately, let's change that :D

I play on insane on every game i play whether it is halo or cod4. It gives me more control over the gun. Say if there is a guy far left of the screen then i can move the joystick more and it will turn faster than it would on med. or low which could save ur life.

I've set mine on insane and just spun around in circles really fast while staring down at the ground. When I saw the killcam from when I got killed... it looked pretty funny, ha.

I think I'm set at default right now though and I usually get within the top few people so it seems to be working out good for me.

And I know what you mean with other games being slower. I went from Battlefield to COD4 the other night and noticed the HUGE change in aiming speeds.

I love having the option to have really high sesitivity..... it also makes montages really fun to watch to cause all the tricks shots you can do with an insane sensitivity.

My advice for you is to put it on 3 or 4 (high).
You will be faster, but you'll still be precise. But try doing it gradually, so first go on 3, and when you get familiar with it, try 4.

When Im at my peak performance I put my sensitivity just above high. I cant play on insane, and I agree that having a higher setting allows you to be more agile and spin around faster. In usually all my games that involve shooting I put the sensitivity higher than the default (depending on mode). I agree that its hard to move to another shooter when you still have COD4. If R2 comes out I may have to destroy my COD4 blu-ray just to stop playing it. The longest free-will break I took from COD4 is about 2-3 weeks, but in that time I was playing GTAIV. :D

I have mine on 4 all the time. It's just fast enough to get that guy that's shooting at you from behind. Yet precise enough to snipe pretty well.

I played on 4 for a long time. Then played it on PC, and now it just seems to slow. I play on 7 now (as i said already)
When you get used to it, it really gives you an advantage over some other player. But it takes time to get used to it, and i don't think you can be more precise then a guy shooting on normal, but then again......cod4 is full of surprises.

The worst thing about cod4 for me is that you need to play it all the time. Even after a few days of not playing it i totally feel uncoordinated, having troubles with aiming, etc. I need like 5 matches to pull myself together, to retrieve that cod4 touch :D

I think I have mine set around 7. And I agree, the fast aiming in COD4 is something that is almost absent in many other shooter games. I think the same thing "Man, this is slow!" And whats great about it even though its really fast, its still easy to do high precision shots because the DS3 controller analogs are so finely precision tuned.

Love the PS3 controller, definitely the best for shooters.

I agree with that 100%. I went on a 2 week vacation last summer, and when I came back I couldnt play RFOM at all. Had to restart the entire campaign just to get the hang of it again. LOL.
