I hope MS impress us a lot you know, with the rumors about Revolution and Sony they really are working extremely hard to shock us.
I agree and as for the post it lol with my Family it would be gone after 2 minutes of being posted my best bet is to probably make a big poster that says "Xbox 2 MTV" but then again with me I will probably still miss it :lol:

I just saw the xbox 360 commercial but this time this one was for CTV not MTV. and it was Friday the 13th not thursday the 12th. plus, its gonna show at 12:30am(at night) (eastern for North America). So if you missed the MTV show, your in luck.

I see and it seems that the have a contest for it and to enter and to be eligible to win, entrant must be a legal resident of Canada and be twelve (12) years of age or older on the date of registration. We (Canadians) can win a Samsung 50" digital widescreen TV or 1 of 10 MP3 players!

Its showing on Thursday and Friday.. 12th for Americans, 13th for everyone else.
Set your VCR then people this will only happen once, i hope the same happens like the Media center in febuary though, because im a voodo man! :twisted:

1 week to go. Time seems to fly by doesnt it? Even though i feel like ive seen most of the system im still going to watch it.
I'm expecting copies of the show appear all over the internet through P2P networks. Don't worry, as long as you got broadband, you're in the "No Miss" zone :)
I'm expecting M$ to surprise us with quality features almost as much as we're expecting from Sony and Nintendo.

TONIGHT!!! Long wait but some things are yet to be anwered.
What's left to reveal?
1. The price
Hot technology usually comes with a hot price, unless its a video game console. Hardware manufacterers tend to take the bullet of cost while they recoup on game sales. The Xbox debuted in November 2001 for $299, and the Xbox 360 is expected to cost the same. Though it has been rumored that there may be two versions of the Xbox 360, a basic system, and an enhanced version that includes a 20GB hard drive to store media, for an apt 360 bucks.
2. The games
There are a few games that have been announced for Xbox, like EA's The Godfather. But we don't know what exclusive games the green X has in store. News reports are citing Perfect Dark as a premiere first person launch game to take the place of juggernaut Halo. In fact, a first-person shooter has been confirmed to be played by the celebs at the recent MTV reveal party.
3. The backwards compatibility
With all the leaks, Microsoft has still been able to keep the lid on whether the Xbox 360 can play Xbox games. Signs point to yes, with a survey revealing that Xbox Live users on the 360 will be able to play against users playing the same game on the old Xbox.
4. The Xbox Live
Microsoft is expected to hype the hell out of the new Xbox Live features. Certain aspects were leaked to the public, such as two versions of the service, dubbed silver and gold. Exactly how the Xbox Live service will be integrated into new games to bring the community to the next level has yet to be revealed, neither has the mysterious usage of the camera seen at the MTV reveal party.
The big MTV reveal will air on May 12 with host Elijah Wood spilling the goods next to a performance from The Killers. It should leak the remainder of the Xbox 360 and drain the mystery out of Microsoft's next weapon in the video game wars. (Source: http://news.punchjump.com/article.php?id=773)

Forget it, I'm back, how impressive were the graphics, better than Half Life 2? By a little or a lot? Which games did they show, I hope they don't dissappoint I'm all hyped up about next-gen.

Im gonna stick with sony, i thought the graphics were pretty poor IMO (I know graphics dont make games but thats part of the games and that seems to be one of MS main powers) I thought PD didnt look good at all but gears of war looked good and so did NBA 2k6

Ill agree with that. They were pushing pd0 alot on the show and it really didnt look all that good.

Trust me, i expected atleast battlefield 2 tpye graphics but they werent even close and that age is coming out next month. And they say it usually take 6 months for pc to catch up to consoles when released so that doesnt say much for the xbox

Spoiler to people who didnt see MTV's special on xbox 360
Im sorry to say but that was one of the worst thing i ever saw. These are the flaws that I saw with the showing.
1. Samsung got more showing of their tvs then the xbox 360 did.
2. They showed nothing about the inside of the system, specs in other words.
3. The way they introduced the system was extreamly dumb, walking down the crowd and carrying the system inside a purse, what was that all about.
4. There was no time spent on anything, they flew through everything must be cause they were paying millions to mtv for their showing.
5. The show was focusing on these gamers and them having a compete, but wait they showed only five 5 pic of the game.
6. The music video were unnecessary they took over the whole show and they were not important at all.
7. There were other flaws with it but those are the ones that stuck out
Here are the other thing that I thought we pretty cool
1. When the system was shown off the way they lighted the room was freaking amazing.
2. That you can change the front of the system's outside to make it look like a dvd player or whatever alse they wanted to.
3. THE GRAPHICS
4. Wireless
5. online mode of up to 50 players
Well that all i had to say, i posted this inside here cause i wasnt sure where people were discussing it.

lol, no dont worry, im not a mod, just was wondering why posted twice in the first place..anyways, back to the disscussion.
I haven't seen the MTV event but did see the 6min promotional(or is it behind the scenes?) video of Xbox360. The box is small enough, compare it as in it won't be wider than your chest if held close to it :) Thats positive sign right there. I've also added the link to the 6min video in the MTV debut thread. Don't miss it.
I think of all the games I saw, Gears of War is the only one which will look promising(tho I haven't see it in motion yet but heard a lot about it). What I saw was PDZ and Ghost Recon3, man they are not anywhere near what I saw of Unreal Engine3.0. I seriously think M$ should make it a must for everyone to license UE3.0 cuz without it, seems like everyone will have a tough time getting power out of Xbox360. So far, Xbox360 has made a very good impact on me. I'm looking forward to M$ final unveiling at E3.

I think this show was just meant to show people the new Xbox 360, not to get all in depth in the parts and and cost and ect... They will leave that for the E3 show.
I personally think the show was good,(Killers were awesome!!) and some of us in this forum might think otherwise, but thats because you already knew what to expect.
And thiers people out there who dont even have an idea of what the Xbox 360 looks like
the graphics on Ghost Recon 3 were crazy and Perfect Dark Zero looks like a lot of fun, Gears of War just blew my head off :wink:

Just got word Quake 4 and Call of Duty 2 were in the clips of games they showed which confirms their appearance on the Xbox 360, did anybody catch a glimpse of these games?

Yeah, Call of Duty 2 didnt look that good compared to Ghost Recon 3

They are gone insane with all the videos of next-gen games for Xbox360. Just included the unveiling of XBox360 and Condemned.
Overall the show was horrible, no system specs anywhere! The new Tony Hawk game looked like it ran on a gamecube. Worst. Infomercial. Ever.
Just finished watching it, Horrible , horrible show.
for the 1st half we got like a total of 1 second of game footage, which flew by so fast you couldnt tell what it was.
Then they showed some clips and it looked....pretty crappy imo.
For most of the games if someone showed me the video and said it was an xbox ,ps2 or gamecube game, i would have belived them.
Best graphics of the bunch had to be madden, which we have all seen already and were disapointed by.
Tony hawk.. yeah looked like a gamecube game.
I was expecting the graphics to look like a very polished HL2 at least. But it looks more like a polished PS2.
And wtf? that store thing is dumb, If you want another shirt for your player in game you have to pay for it? meh..
I sure hope PS3 is better than this :|
And they had the 1st ever perfect dark live deathmatch, But they showed mabey 5 seconds of the game, the rest of the time it was showing the people playing or the crowd.
so in a 30 min show to unveil the xbox 2 we get
10 mins of performances by the killers.
10 mins of commercials
5 mins of those pro gamers at xbox headquarters taunting eatchother
30 seconds of unveiling the console
2 mins of elijah wood
30 sec. of in game footage
1 min of celebrties talking
1 min vid thing at the start,end.

The people at sony must be laughing their heads off assuming they were watching, because from what i saw on the mtv xbox special every thing looks like it can be done on this generations pc hardware if nox then current xbox. the only thing that caught my attention was the Ghost Recon 3, but the preview of it went by so fast. I think the cell processor will be capable of much much much more than this for there first line-up of games. I was really impressed with NBA 2k6, but far Gears of war stole the show.
Gears of war is one of the few titles that has had enough time with beta hardware to really show itself off.
One of my biggest fears is that all of EA's games are only going to use the power that was available to them in the alpha kits, mainly 2 procs running at only 2GHz and just 256mb of Ram...

Wasn't this canceled?
There was a rumor the game was cancelled/canceled ( which one is right?) , but EA never confirmed or denied this.
