It really took me sometime to actually to come up with a great reason why i really love sony. Well it must have started with the first computer i ever brought, an HP. The computer gave me so many freaking problems that I almost trashed it after the 2nd month i brought it. When I brought a a sony computer it worked perfectly in fact it only crashed once on me, while the HP crashed like 3-5 times a week. But anyways back to PS3. Sony is just a trustable company first and for all. Their equipment lasts. Secondly they just very come up with great ideas. Here is an example where they are experimenting with 3-D games.

The company is not affraid to copy great ideas from others (Just like MS in software but just they do it with hardware) and then also they come up with great idea of their own. They just come up with innovating game play.

I guess I love sony because of the games that are on their systems. It all started back in I think 1997 when my friend blaze told me about this "sony playstation" one look and I was in love with it, and out goes my sega genesis.
The true love began with Final fantasy VII after that game I would never leave as long as theirs Final fantasies on playstations. Then MGS came and I was in love once again.

i really got into sony with the PS, it was just mindblowing to me. final fantasy 7 was my first love, it is the reason ALOT of people got into playstation. the cinematics were so good, and the PS made them good. and from there i stretched out to try other high quality products. and ive never been dissappointed yet.
I bought a playstation after playing Resident Evil from a friend's house. Sony does put out good quality product. They products are usually top of the line as far as quality is concern.
Even though there are better systems than the ps2, i just say to then, who came out first, the dreamcast, what did the ps2 do? made it the last Sega hardware (because of their finantial problems) to be released, then came Xbox that was just BOOM they put thier foot in the door on the closing market when sega announced their retirment from the console market.
The playstation really happend to me back in the beggining, when there was the PS1, i was a beloved Sega owner of the saturn, and was hopeing for the Dreamcast to come out on top, after about 3 years of owning a saturn, i jumped ships, because the games were just not as wide as the PS1's, i play crash bandicoot for hours on end, i was in love with a console i really enjoyed, then i had a go at FF7 i got far, but then gave up because my brother had already finnished it and i saw the ending :(. The PS1 really grew on me and was starting to be more egar towars the PS2, and now look, i have one of the first batches of PS2, (after a few trips back to the factory) its still working like new, i keep it clean and give it a good blast with the air can one every months, doing regular matinace, always have it flat so then the lens didnt go weird, but then PC games started growing on me, till we got broadband, and so i though about hooking the old thing up on the info high-way, and that really did boost my enjoyment of the PS2 up to this day, Killzone is my most preferred on line game of all time nothing can really come close to it. Not even halo 1 or 2! (on line) and now my beloved wait for the PS3 is now ariseing, and i will get it the first day it comes out!
And thats my Sony experiance.

When I started to hate Microsoft. Lol.. NO offence.
I hope you guys will bear with me. What I'm about to say is vital to understanding my love for Playstation.
I used to play lots of arcade games(they were better in every way) and was an owner of SNES with only a handful of titles(Mario, Aladdin, uhm thats it!). It was 1994 I suppose and I was walking past this Arcade shop here in Dubai. When I saw this 36" cabinet of a strange game with stick like characters fighting thru hand to hand combat. Colorful but what struck me the most was the camera angles that kept changing every 5-10 seconds. That blew me away! I was breathless, I'd seen 3D on PC! But I had never seen 3D characters in any arcade game like that before! They were super detailed compared to Wolfenstein3D!
I remember I stood there for minutes trying to memorize every single scene that the demo was displaying(which was lifelike compared to 2D KOF's and SFII's I only knew of). The word "Tekken" never left my mind afterwards. I knew I wanted to play that game.
A year later, rumblings about this thing called the "Play Station" from Sony, a home console that will bring never before seen 3D to us home users. So I starting buying these US imported mags like EGM and Gamepro and tried to stay up to date. That's when I found out that Tekken was coming to Playstation. That's when I knew I want it. I said to myself, this is exactly what I want. Because I wanna play Tekken.
I got my NTSC Playstation shipped by my Uncle in US the same month it was released there but no sign of Tekken. Bought a mem card, ESPN extreme games and Ridge Racer with it. I thought the graphics were phenomenal. Ridge racer looked almost like what I saw at the arcades in Dubai. I just couldn't believe my eyes. But I had it and I knew I'll be getting all the love of the gaming industry thanks to the lovely Playstation. Later I got obsessed with Resident Evil, FFVII and Tekken 2. Those were some memories, our relatives used to gather at weekends to have a shot at Tekken2. So much fun! So much partying with it. Later RE2 became like a gathering token of sorts. Whenever I played that game, room kept crowded with everyone saying their piece of mind at puzzles and action and cinematics. That's when I knew I have chosen the winner console! RE1 blew away my friends who had never heard of the word 3D possible on home TV's. They didn't believe me at first but when I showed em RE1 on PSX. They almost ****'d in their pants with fear and excitement!
Now those are unforgetful moments that only this console provided me! I appreciate you all for hearing my experience and love for Playstation.

Eh, I only got on board once the PS2 came about. I was a proud N64 owner and a proud PSX hater. Only a few of the games appealed to me. It was only after the announcement of the 128 bit consoles that I realized that if I wanted more games I needed a PS2. Once I found out that the PS2 was coming stateside on 10/26/00 I immediately told myself that I needed a job. Anyways, I got a job via my cousin in law, and I saved up well over $500.
Before the day came, I stayed up and watched the entire game 4 of the World Series between the Yankees and Mets. Once launch day came, I stood in a long *** line for close to an hour after watching a couple of po'ed guys get escorted by mall security because they found out that the system wasn't selling on a "first come, first serve" basis. I finally got to the cashier and purchased a PS2, memory card, SSX, Madden 2001, and DOA2: Hardcore.
Hopefully, I'll be following a similar routine once the PS3 is released. Only this time I have a job. :D
I dont know if I love Sony, its just that I realy liked what I saw back in early 1995 when I stept into a shop with a PlayStation connected to a 52" TV running Ridge Racer, from the second I saw it I know I needed that console so I put in a order and waited for 7 months before it was released in Europe.

I like Sony. It work extremely well for me. I got my equipments from Sony and stuff. Anyway, when it come to games, Nintendo seem to be slow to adapt to the changes in the gaming and focus on its own games. Microsoft doesn't work well for me because I don't really like the idea that Microsoft can simply buy the gaming stuff with their money though they seem to be doing well I think. As for Sony, it did a great job with the games though I'm not sure about how much of a support it have for PS3.

I love sony for many reasons. one would be they make quality and long lasting equipment i know because i have had some others break while the sony and the other half is still going years to today. i like there systems for the same reasons every one else does: its fun, the selection, how it looks and feels etc.. i too stopped play my saga genesis for the playstation one and the games like metal gear, crash, twisted metal, and vigilante 8 etc.. i can go on for ever.
sony has my support all the way!

Well I had a Sony VCR back then. Didn't really effect me but I loved the Playstation. I wanted N64, I got PS for christmas and I fell in love with ever since....
Well i fell in love with sony when i started watching my Brother play Resident Evil. I remember him walking down a corridor and a dog jumping through the window...it scared the shit out of me (I was around 8 yrs old) and from then on i was hooked.
I only played a few video games when I was a child, I went to the arcade about once a month, and only had an NES and a Genesis. I finally got a PS in 1998 and it blew me away. The graphics were phenomenal the gameplay was perfect. The day I got a Playstation was the day I became a gamer.
But I was by no means a Sony lover at this point. Then I got the PS2. Everything I loved about gaming on the PS1 was multiplied by it's succesor, plus it played DVDs, which was a huge factor at the time considering I didn't have a DVD player and wouldn't get one for about 9 months.
So by then I knew Sony was a great company and I was really impressed. Then I bought a Sony Trinitron 27" television, I got a great deal and the picture and sound quality blew me away. That television is still in my house and I have no plans to get rid of it. Ever. From that point on whenever I wanted a home electronics device I first checked if I could get a Sony. I, and it seems many of you, realize that Sony=Quality.

At the moment, there isn't much love coming from me to Sony... :(
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/756/756757p1.html
Justin, did you mention the Sixaxis support for Final Fantasy in any of your articles yet?
If not, anyone feel free to write an article on this...
I need some rest now...
I dont know...its from the same article of information and Seb said something about it before he posted my article live. You should check and see and if not then definitely do it.
I will look at it today...I have to go to school soon...
I thought I had included that info but perhaps I didn't as I can’t see it in the article. I don't think this warrants a new article but it should def be added to the existing one. (Maybe with *update* tags.)
SONY it's just the best in most of their products, it's just like Mercedes Benz or ADIDAS, you can't go wrong buying those brands. IMO.;) People trust these companies.

Why on earth would anyone 'love' sony? <br />
<br />
I own a 360 and PS3, and both are great consoles but I hate MS and Sony. They are huge companys whos sole purpose and reason for existance is to make huge...

Not everyone who buys a product automatically becomes a fanboy.
I personally don't like MS or Sony, but would still buy both consoles.

If you can't love a company, why would you "HATE" it?Are you kidding me?? Companies have the responsibility of earning customers. It's their job to insure customer satisfaction.
People can hate companies for a VAST amount of reasons:
1.) Bad Customer Service/Technical Support
2.) High prices compared to a similar product offered by a competitor
3.) Not following through on promises made (No this doesn't include when they say Home is coming out soon).
4.) Multiple problems with a product.
wut? lol <br />
<br />
they have a jet and expensive cars cause they're smart people, they deserve it, they have work for it, they have studies, experience and skills, not like you, your big skill was to...
I enjoy owning Sony products because I know I can rely on them. It may cost a bit more, but I'd rather spend it up front instead of later in repair cost.

Please, that arguement doesn't hold a ton of weight.
The score doesn't reset every generation. I don't have the same chance at Sony at making a good console.
They might work hard, but that is not the only reason they are big.

I love Sony for many reasons. They build strong hardware, and they always bring a diverse lineup of games to their system. I own the original PS1, my uncle owns the PS2 (brother as well), and I own the PS3. Yes, they have made countless mistakes but they learn from them.
I fell in love with sony with the ps1 but mostly the ps2 with two games grand theft auto and socom since then i have been hooked on playstation

I never find myself regretting buying anything sony Hell i bought two ps3s and two bravias just because I know quality is there

This thread isn't about liking products. It's about LOVING products. In my opinion when you talk about someone loving a company, you're talking about a fanboy who obsesses over them.

Well I think loving a company just because you like there console is as silly as hating a company, and I hate the way the companys...
I love whoever offers me the most consistently awesome software and a manageable control pad to play it with. That happens to be Sony, and has been for many years now. I started out as a hardcore Nintendo fan who doubted the PS1, but was converted by Twisted Metal and Final Fantasy VII.
At the start of this generation, I put my chips in Sony's corner, though I did buy a 360, and for about a year I actually preferred my 360 because the software lineup was vastly better. Then reality kicked back in and the games dropped one by one. Today my 360 lies in a paper coffin in my closet, and my PS3 is my girlfriend. All is right in the universe.
But if in ten years some new company comes out of the blue with a console whose software support rivals or beats the PS4's, then I'll back them instead. Because in the end, it's not about brand loyalty or fanboyism; it's about the games.
Sony are a company with high quality and reliable products.
From personal experience whenever I have had a problem with a Sony product it has been fixed or replaced without hassle.
Sadly MS and their bloody xbox are not the same.

Talk about grave robbing! Necro-bumping a thread after the skin has long since decayed into dust and there is only bones?
Anyway, I can't say I love Sony but I do respect the company for it's achievements. They really do know how to push the envelope in terms of technological advancement, innovation and the occasional revolution. This company has earned the right to be where it is in the industry.

Im not going get into it but we know what I mean.
And I own a PS3 and Bravia HDTV, so I have given sony plenty of my hard earned cash, but I still dont like them at all lol.
I dont understand why people cant grasp the whole 'have to love XXX over YYY because they made ZZZ' carry on is just idiotic.
You will never benefit from Sony or MS or Nintendo or any big company doing well or bad, you still will have to pay for the things you want regardless of who you love, yes I understand liking sony over ms or vice versa makes you feel like you buy these dear things for a purpose but Cmon.
All Im asking is people mature a little and get a bit of cop on.
Very well put.
Thank you, Its nice to know there are plenty of mature sensible members floating around these forums, I never mean to get vexed by fanboyism but sometimes people just need to be brought back to reality.
Ill give a nice simple example to the kids in here who think Im talking nonsense when I hate a company I buy products from.
Do you love your landlord? or do you hate him because you could pay €200 a month and he would still make a profit from you.
you're terrible example for the kids around here.
World leading companies like SONY should be an example for anyone who has big aspirations in life. I dont want to be a landlord making 200 a month, i want to be a top Engineer at SONY or MS, or any other big company.
you, keep watching the carling cup in your couch.

Because Sony=Quality Product. Not the cheapest brand on the shelves for a reason. But the biggest reason I enjoy Sony would have to be the Playstation (Of Course). Been tagging along since the original and I plan to own a Playstation 7 if I live to see that day.
And I think it's time for this thread to go in that special section of the forum some have called trash.
