Rules: This weeks theme is Animation. Think out of the box on the one, let there be no size limit. Anything animated should do.

Try looking up an animation tutorial, if your not to good with animation. Thats what i did, so its alot easier and better explained, and ofcourse good results.

Very interesting, this is the first time I have seen Animation as the SOTW theme, sounds good...
Yeah, i mean, its good to try stuff new. Many people arent familar with animation, so i suggest reading a tut, it'll help.

So do you want us to actually do anything with the animation or just take a short clip and turn it into a gif? I just want to make sure I'm clear on this before people turn in others .gifs, movie clips, etc.

This is a great idea for SOTW and fitting seeing as it's the 20th one so it had to be special. I can't wait to see what people all of you come up with.
That's a money idea Formula. Good choice.

i just found out which software i used to make a .gif last year. This theme is purrrrfect
I was working on a little something for someone and here is the result:

I've resized the image as the file was too big.
Ignore the text. It's just something random I put on as I couldn't think of anything else. I made all of the effects myself. The background, the flicker...everything (not the moving shapes next to the text). It took quite a while to complete :p
The animation doesn't repeat itself automatically but I don't have much time to work on that. Plus I don't feel that it's that big a problem.
I dont see anything happening? lol. Am i looking to hard?

Photoshop, I have no idea. GIMP, go to Filters>Animations>Optimize(For GIF).
Save the new window as InsertSigNameHere.gif
Select the "Save as Animation" and "Convert to Indexed using default settings (Do it manually to tune the result) options, click Export.
Change the Frame disposal where unspecified: option to One Frame Per Layer (Replace) and hit Ok.
that sux. Guess i'll wait for a PS user to come in.

Hey Gta im not sure if this will work but Use Save for Web & Device to save it in a GIF, then it should be animated...tell me if that worked or not.
Edit: o i guess Spider beat me to the answer by couple min.
Where do i find that option? Looking at the Save As dialog right now and no such option

Thanks thugged. I tried some other BG's before i settled for that. None of them fit. Didn't think of times square at that moment.

Wonderful annimation, it never moved before but when I went to quote you're unmoving sig, it then moved and I'm sure that's going to be hard to beat along with Formula's! :)
