Just to get an idea of how the Design Team's idea of a pay per package design concept, would you pay money for a package of avatars, sigs and wallpapers?

If I was thinking in terms of if I wasn't in the design squad, I probably wouldn't buy an avatar or sig when I could just get one for free elsewhere. I feel slightly uneasy about taking peoples money for sigs I've created anywho. A thank you in return is more than enough.

Well, I realize that selling sigs and avatars and wallpapers really isn't the best designs we can sell but its what we are known for here in the forums and PS3land and PS3portal. If we could come up with something like designing headers and custom graphics for people's websites and such and earn money that way it would be nice too.
Like for a gaming site or for some online website like Ebay...to design headers or advertisemnts for them for money. Already I have designed a few things for outside ps3forums websites....for example I designed a Websites header...it was for some online blog/torrent website. He found the stuff I did here in the forums and emailed me asking for me to do the job for him.

HOLY **** thats a awesome idea! Right now in my Graphic Design Class we are designing t-shirt logo and stuff. That would be really cool! We could design logo's and such for hats, t-shirts, sweat-shirts, coffe mugs, mouse pads, ect.
That is something we should definitly talk to Rebon and Morpheous about. We could sell them from the website and Forums.

Yeah, that sounds like a really great idea, and it would definitely bring in more cash than some wallpapers/avatars/sigs. Only thing though, if it would have the PS3Forums logo on the item, I think we should wait until we get a new template for the forum, only problem is we don't know how long that could be.
I really don't think that anyone would pay for avatars or sigs. I mean I can just
get someone else who makes them for free make it.
Unless your work will be a masterpiece, selling sigs and avatars will not make much
profit for you guys. :(

Did you read about the new idea Vision Pro came up with?
The Design Squad could design logos and such for PS3forums t-shirts and stuff.

Why would we want to start charging for Avatars and Sigs anyways? We've done that for free and it helps us get fans.

I have said this like a million times already....We will still offer free sigs and avatars to people here in the forums. The idea was for people visisting PS3land and such....but I want to toss the whole idea of sigs and avatars and move to the new idea

example: PS3forums Junkie (t-shirt), I Love the Forums (t-shirt) (back)The PS3forums, Welcome Change (back) PS3Land (taking after the new layout coming to PS3land.com), ect.
I woudn't pay, but I think that's a great idea because I'm sure lots of people would want to buy. And since Rebon gets a cut (he does right?), we might get to see les ads on the board :lol:

I wasn't aware that other people were doing it for free. I guess I'm naive to how easy it is to do sigs and avys.
It really depends if I would buy design work. I would buy if I didn't know how to do my own photoshop adn I wanted some killer graphics and I would be guaranteed of it. I might also buy if I could make some requests. I might also buy in my current position if there were a lot of high graphic quality psds in there and maybe some really high quality tutorials

Some people do charge for sigs and avatars, it's asinine however to do so for that kinda thing. It is simple and you can learn how to do it well within a month. Thus the reason we're not going to...

im the same way too but you gotta think about it. usuelly the average user gets to know photosho and makes a avatar. he likes it for a while then just gets tired of it and wants a new one, im that way and thats why i probably wouldnt want to pay for a avatar and sig. but the shirts are a good idea.

That will depend on what service they're using to do the shirts. I think Carepress ships outside NA. And for graphics, they'll probably use Paypal which is available in a lot of countries.

Well i'm one of those weirdos who has to type his opinion because he doesn't have a yes or no answer.
Well anyway. I probably wouldn't need to pay or ask for sigs seeing as i'll be making my own when Photoshop arrives. I will if there is a certain design I can't get right and someone asks if they can have a go, well sure i'll pay up if they do it right.
Sidenote- Clothes idea is good.
Back to post- Well, if users who can't use a programme wan a sig, I don't see why they shouldn't pay. If thay want something done, you guys do it. It's really up to you Design Squad guys if you want paying or not.
