She's back! After nearly two years since her last dismal game, Lara Croft is back in spades. In this version she is enhanced with Crystal Dynamics graphics with some newly created puzzles and challenages. This is my review:
Game Play - 7.5/10
Eidos had made an excellent choice with Crystal Dynamics taking over the helm from Core Design. The player is Lara on an Indiana Jones type quest for treasures and relics found throughout the world. She is back up by a team of researchers and faces dangerous rivals and enemies. The only flaw is we don't see the support team nor able to interact with them. This game had beautiful scenary and stunning exotic locations. Lara start her adventure in Bolivia searching for a lost artifact. She is being stalked by an unidentified rival. If you listen carefully, the sound had echoes from the previous series of Tomb Raider games.
Graphics and Sound - 8/10
Graphics was stunning but the sound could use a bit of work.
Multiplayer - N/A
Since Tomb Raider was designed with a single player in mind, the multiplayer role is ireevalant to this game.
The Bottom Line - B+
To me Tomb Raider Legend featuring Lara Croft bring the first queen of video games back from the edge of oblivion. Crystal Dynamics had integrated a lot of elements from the previous series including the movies. I would, however, wish there was some form of in game guide as Lara moved from one tomb to another. The puzzles are fairly simple to solve but there are spots where the challenge can get quite frustrated.
This game is not perfect but it's on the right track.
Just my two point three five credit worth.
