a black box would indeed be very nice, this colour gives the box a more mature look and feel over the 360 box.

That would be amazing, good find.
But it looks like it is digitally created.
The hdmi cable would be too short anyways by looking at the picture.
But it is a very nice looking box, but don't you think it is kinda long for a playstation 3?

that is so fake my eye are buring. I can tell that it's photoshop.

No, it's not.
I remember a while back some kid posting that on one of the forums. He was just messing around with what he thought the package would look like and what items he thought would be included in the package.
Sorry to disappoint you.

That box looks ugly. They should stick with the PS2 box design, that was simple and informative. This box just has too much stuff on it.

Completely photoshopped with PS3 images and cable images found on the net. The cables are flattened to look like they are laying on that surface and the box and manual look awful anyhow.

before anyone starts flaming me (which seems to be too late), i clearly stated in my 1st post that i could tell its cg. but i found it through amazon and not some random forum or something so i figured even tho its not a real box it could be sony's concept box or something
edit: that ps3 cg picture has been out for a while (even in the pictures area of ps3portal.com) and they are right on spec with what the real ps3 looks like. so why cant the box?
It's almost a shame that its fake. It sort of reminds me of the PS1s box, though.
The first clue it's fake would be the controller.
Though it is a nice design... a black box would certainly rock ;)
its ok i guess but i would like the box to be something in the style of psp.

Haha, he went all out on the box and then was like "ahh... whatever" on the wires and manual. You guys are all like "you can tell because of this and that..." Ahhh... how was your first clue NOT the fact that the particular picture of the console that's used, has been around for months - he just plopped his design in there.
Also... anyone else notice that those are Xbox wires?...
Obviously fake, but damn, I really like it.

No its a fake. It was shown on another board in bigger size and you could tell it was photoshoped.

Ya, considering those are PS2 wires....I'd say this is fake.
ofcourse this is fake...see the HDMI cable...photoshopped
its good but it would look really weird if the ps3 was a black one

Do you people even read the posts in the thread? Or do you just 'look' at the first post, and then go off on your rant from there?
Badz had found the image while searching for pre-order information. His opinion is that it's a computer mock-up, but it may still be a representation of Sony's direction with their product packaging design.
I agree that it's not real, along with Badz, and the rest of you.
And I doubt this will resemble what Sony will use for their box design.
Because of the use of Blu-Ray, I expect Sony to use blue in the design.
As far as this design goes, I like the fact that each side of the box shows the side of the console it is concealing. And I like how the top of the console image is clearly visible, and it fades to black as it nears the bottom of the box.
I do not think that the Spiderman font will be used. It's tacky. Not the lettering itself, but rather using it because your backing the Spiderman film.

This is the second worst pic I ever saw in my life. Just look at the manual it is somehow standing up while the cables are flat. It just is physical imposssible for that to happen.
:D im liking the box design. and yes it does look legit, but who knows it might be the real thing.

that is fake.. the cables don't "match"the rest of the picture.. and i don't like that design of the box but i don't care about it either.. its what is inside the box that matters
I like it so what if it is fake.

Black is the new pink?... not. Black was always cool and pink was always for women. Taking something totally opposite and TRYING to MAKE it cool... isn't cool. That was getting big in paintball when I was just getting out of it - people getting their guns anno'd pink...so lame. "I'm so cool, I don't even care if my stuff is pink." Wow... teach me to be awesome.
About a year ago when I noticed every other douchebag 16 year old kid who thought he was gangsta (like you, 'its all good in the hood'... what hood, Connecticut?) was wearing a pink shirt... I made a shirt that says:
"Only b!tches and fa99ots wear pink." (spelled in english on the shirt)
I love that shirt.
There's no demographic that I would love to punch in the lips, more than the white kids who think they're straight ballin, YO!!! G'd up from the feet up. word.

anyways i dont think the box will say welcome change 3. mabe change 3 alone or not there at all. just my opinion.
Welcome Chang3 is for E3, not box art. It will prob just say Playstation3 and have some info. Thumbnails of screens on the back of the box and the previous two.
And I really did have to say something. How can Cera's owning not go un-announced?

Awesome. PSPgo launches today, so having a review in time for the weekend would be sweet.
Here's my review. I tried really hard writing good things about this game, and I hope I conveyed the positives, but overall, the game really lacked any deepth.

Gran Turismo (PSP) Review
In the racing and driving simulator genre, few games offer up the same allegiance amongst fans as the Gran Turismo series. After what felt like a long wait, the game was finally skimmed-down for its own PSP release and let loose for car and racing fans. The game’s launch coincided with Sony’s new PSPgo, and you can purchase GT in UMD and digital forms. While playing Gran Turismo for this review, we had to keep reminding ourselves that this is a PSP title, and right from the beginning we were blown away with the sleek graphics. But beyond the visuals, we felt a little disappointed at the lack of a career mode and online game modes.
You’ve likely heard the basic specs regarding Gran Turismo on the PSP; it features some 800 vehicles, about 60 tracks (if you count driving a track backwards as a separate track), and this all occurs while running at 60fps. For people who don’t play many PSP games, you may not consider the graphics all that great. However, you shouldn’t forget that this is a PSP, not a PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3. The graphics are smooth, and the video replays are candy for your eyes. The vehicles look realistic and the different track settings come to life as you cruise down straight-aways at 150 mph. Chances are you won’t have all that much time to enjoy the scenery as you’ll keep your eyes focused on the road ahead. The game flows beautifully without the slightest worry of graphical lag or hesitations.
Gran Turismo is exactly what you’d expect from the PSP iteration of the series. This is not a ‘dumbed-down’ version of GT, it’s simply a thinner version. Without the power of a DVD or Blu-ray, there’s only so much Polyphony Digital can punch in to Sony’s handheld device. But what Gran Turismo loses in the PSP version is substantial. There is no career mode, making the desire to progress through the game fairly weak. It’s unfortunate that the game lacks this most basic feature.
The game offers two main game modes, Single Player and Driver Challenges. You can think of the Single Player mode as a quick play option, with drift challenges, time trials, and standard race as your options. All of the 30 tracks are available right from the beginning. You can ‘progress’ through these tracks by increasing your driver rank, but all this really does is make the AI better. You’ll gain game currency that allows you to purchase new rides by winning races. The higher your driver rank, the more money you’ll earn on each track. You’ll also earn more money depending on the type of track, its difficulty, and the number of laps you race.
Your single race experience is limited to competing with three other vehicles. The PSP likely can’t sustain many more vehicles per race, but having only four vehicles on a track at one time doesn’t feel very competitive. The game’s drift trials are a lot of fun, and are a good break from the standard single player races. You are judged on how well you can drift through a turn and earn points accordingly. Still, this mode lacks the progress we hoped for, as there are no rankings to beat.
The other game mode, Driver Challenges, is the one part that resembles a career mode. The various challenges are designed to teach you how to play the game, but again, there isn’t all that much incentive to play through the entire challenge.
All of our complaints about the game’s progress will not necessarily translate into a negative feature for every gamer. It’s important to remember, again, that this is a PSP game. Sony’s handheld device is intended to offer you quick, high quality gaming experiences. That’s exactly what Gran Turismo offers; it’s a great driving simulator that you can pick up and play for 10 minutes, have a great time, and put it down for a day or two without feeling like you are missing some sort of progression.
If you are a driving and a vehicle fan, you are going to love this game. With 800 vehicles to buy, you’ll spend a large amount of time in the garage, trying to find that perfect ride. Still, there are some annoying features when buying a new car. First of all, there are only a handful of vehicles every day (days progress in the game every time you complete an event). Each day there are four manufacturers that are ‘open’ for you to purchase a vehicle from. In that given day, not all of that manufacturer’s vehicles will be available. Also, there’s no easy way to figure out which vehicles you already own. For the people who want to spend a lot of time purchasing their vehicles, you’ll have a lot of fun collecting all that GT has to offer; just don’t expect to be able to upgrade your ride. Before each race you can make small tweaks to your vehicle by adjusting its torque, handling, power, and more. The lack of aftermarket customization is certainly missed.
It should be noted that you will be able to transfer your garage to Gran Turismo 5 on the PlayStation 3 when the game is released. You can also trade and share vehicles with friends via an Ad-Hoc connection. There’s a limited amount of multiplayer options for use with an Ad-Hoc connection. We would have liked to have seen more of an online component to Gran Turismo.
Gran Turismo is certainly not a bad game, but it feels a little less than we had hoped for. The franchise is so strong, yet the PSP version feels a little weak. We feel that racing fans, driving simulator fans, car fans, and most importantly, Gran Turismo fans will really enjoy this game. With some 800 vehicles to play around with, and some 60 tracks to test your skills, there’s a lot to keep you busy. But, without a proper career mode, if you are not interested in buying more cars, the desire to play this game multiple times certainly drops. Taking the game for what it is, a quick driving simulator with an extensive list of vehicles, and you will find a lot of enjoyment. Above all, it’s important to remember that this game is on the PSP, and looks amazing running at 60fps. The portable version certainly wets out appetite for the proper PS3 follow-up in the series.
Summary:
Gran Turismo is a fine racing simulator and offers car fans an enormous amount of killer vehicles to collect. But, the lack of career mode spoils the longevity of this title and we would have liked to have been given more of a reason to progress through the game.
We Liked:
The graphics look great for a fast-racing PSP title.
The enormous amount of vehicles at your disposal.
All the tracks and vehicles are available at launch (this can also be seen as something we disliked).
We Disliked:
The lack of career mode gives little feeling of progression.
Not being able to add aftermarket parts to your ride.
The overall lack of customization available.
Final Score: 7.5

Solid review Adam, I was very surprised how bare bones the game seems compared to the console versions. Still, I wouldn't class this as a negative review, you conveyed your points very well and it's obvious this was made for a quick racing experience as opposed to a comprehensive simulator as you said.
I can't get this live until the Admin CP gets back up but here's the edited version.
