I don't care about skill points, i just don't understand when you made another thread for the exact same kinda thing, any way nice job on the render, some parts on the hat and cheek look a little wavy, but good job.
1. Behind the ear, try to fix it there
2. The helmet looks choppy
3. Your "Firefox Productions" thing is huge, it gets annoying for the people who will use your renders (make it smaller)
Other than that it is good, but there was no necessity to make a new thread just for 1 render. (you also made a thread just to give somebody a sig :? )
because he posted his request in the wrong thread so I he probably did not
know there was a request sticky at the time.
and the logo can be easily erased but I see your point.
thanks for the suggestions :P

If you are talking about ft05, he had a request in the official request thread

His right ear is square...You accidently left the background in on that part I think...
I don't exactly know what a render is...but it still looks good.

i'm pretty sure thats the back of the helmet, no the ear, and thats why it looks square

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, to feathered. Aside from that it's hard to tell what all you did bad on because of the white background. And I can't see in detail by opening it in Photoshop because you've saved it as a Jpeg.
Welcome to my world as a renderer. 8)
save the file as .PGN (five word yada yada)

They're really easy, and quite fun.
Here is a render I'm currently working on. (I hate hair...)

(warning I guess some might find this offensive, no actually nudity but the clothing is questionable.)
All in do time FireFox, you'll get good at it. You may find it as fun as I do also. I actually haven't made a sig for myself in ages because of rendering.

I've been rendering alot lately trying out different techniques to see which one works best it seems the more complex the technique is the better it works.

There is no complex technique with rendering... take out the pen tool, click-click-click, and bam! Render!
Just takes alot of time.

Oh god I wish people hadn't spread the word render incorrectly.
A render is a visual reproduction of a 3D model, takes time and alot of skill to make a good one.
These "renders" are cut-outs of 3D models from games, cutting something out isn't rendering something, it's cutting it out.
It's no ones fault in particular they have started being called that, but I wish it was so I could ring their neck. Maybe it's gamerenders.com's fault... grrrr. [/End Rant]
It's not a bad cut out, doesn't look that difficult.
If your cutting out there's a few useful shortcuts =
a) The tab key, once your selection tool is selected get more space by removing all toolbars.
b) The "F" key, press once to go to semi-fullscreen, press again to go to full fullscreen, one again, more space to look at.
c) The space key, hold space and click and drag around to move around, can be used while using the selection tool.
d) CTRL + PLUS and CTRL + MINUS to zoom in and out.

When you render zoom in 500%-800% (I use 800%) It will get you the best quality. Don't do 1600% because you're just going to lose yourself.
And lol skribble, the reason it is called a render is because when you cut from games you are cutting away but the 3d model, or the render in that picture.
However... the word has spread it's meaning and now applies to everything you cut...

Yeh but a 3d in game model isn't quite a render, I know how it started and spread, I just don't like it, lol.

*nods and agrees*
lets go to gamerenders and start the revolution. Until it's called gamecutouts.com
I only know how to make some good renders with the 3D program: Autodesk Maya...

Yes there is Trib I went to some websites which tell you how to cut out more complex images like stuff with alot of hair, furs or feathers its alot more harder than using the cut tool or the magic eraser but it works alot better than those tools.
the extract feature works well also but its kinda hard to draw a outline using a mouse or a touch pad on a lap top which i'm using at the moment but it still works none the less.

Agreed LK, there's alot of different techniques, personally, I use more than the pen tool, heaps of renders need fading etc you can't get with just a pen tool.
