View Full Version : Dead Rising! Capcom's answer to RE on XBox360?
Looks very beautiful and the amount of characters onscreen is really staggering and if I have to fight my way in-game through that crowd. Jesus, this will be truly an awesome game. I always imagined what it'd be for Leon to fist fight his way out of a crowd of zombies as in a movie. This game is set to deliver just that feeling from the get go. I'm so frikkin excited if it can deliver the fun, it'll be awesome. Check out the screens

I dunno if I'd call it Capcom's "answer" to RE, considering they make RE... ... competition with yourself seems a bit odd... ...
It's a very strange game in that has a feel very very different that what Capcom usually makes... it kinda feels like something that would come out of a US developer not a a very Japanese company like capcom... ... then again after hearing what they did to Sengoku Basara... ... well, I'm not happy and I've pretty much lost all respect for capcom... anyway, moving on... I wonder how it'll play it seems like a much more in your face / brawler kinda game as compared to RE. Could be very fun though I wonder how scary it'll be?? When you're able to easily attack the monsters the fear factor sorta slips away... ... demento has something nice in that respect...
scary, i saw a screen wich had some 100's of zombies coming to his little easily to turn over car
hehe if you look at the zombies on the fifth pic closely you can see that each different zombie is copied exactly and spread out a bit. They could have made the look different to each other.
Now I don't know what's wrong with you but exact copies don't have different hair, different clothes and different faces! Agreed alot of them are the same. But we can assume near final production of the game alot more zombie models will be added so the game doesn't seems to repeat itself!
Are you telling me that you cant see 10 zombies which are all in hawaiin shirts and each have the same face.

This could make for some insanely entertaining gameplay! I love the remake of Dawn of the Dead and this looks to be quite similar in style and humour.
Yep it doesnt look like it will be anything like Resident Evil well except for the zombies.
This is what gameinformer had to say after their interview with Keiji Inafune. Tells a lot about this game if you notice.
We got a chance to sit down briefly with Keiji Inafune to talk to him about his upcoming Xbox 360 game Dead Rising. You may have heard about the game, which takes place in a shopping mall as you try to turn back a horde of zombie assailants using whatever you can get into your hands. The game takes place over a 10 day period and will feature multiple characters, which will ultimately give you the option of receiving multiple endings. And, you can play the role of hero or a villain. Since you’re stuck in a mall but are also a roving reporter, you can try to snap pictures of heroic deeds, such as saving another character, or be more devious and set them up for a nasty zombie attack while you snap pictures of it. While I doubt the system will be as deep as what you’ve seen in things like Jade Empire or Fable, the premise sounds promising enough and should really mix up the gameplay quite a bit. This also rings true given the game’s film noir type of humor. While the game could just be about flesh eating zombies and no-holds barred gore, Inafune is instead aiming to give players a somewhat humorous experience. For unlockable fans, he also hinted that since the mall will contain your usual staple of shops (including a video game store), you may just be able to fire up a console and play another game (Resident Evil, anyone?)

You noticed that too, huh? ;)
Maybe Capcom has made a exclusivity contract for RE on a platform other than Xbox again. This could be their way of still making an RE like game for the Xbox360.
Keiji Inafune is the creator of Onimusha franchise for Capcom if I'm not wrong. I don't know if he ever worked with the Resident Evil franchise within Capcom but yea a healthy competition could be likely the scenario in this situation. Besides, I won't take it too seriously even it is competition or not. The game has a light tone of humor mixed in with gritty violence.
I'm right in the middle of THPS8 I'll have it up in no time

Though racing sims are not my expertise, I could certainly review GT:HD for you - I'll get to work on that.

Would you like a combined review of Blast Factor and it's multiplayer pack as a whole? I actually feel like I could cover this one more completely than GT:HD - or I might do both who knows. Get back to me if you want this.

Yea that would be good.
