Well, it seems like even the people who don't pay for XBL still get a whole crap-load of features. Here's an image of what might be available for everyone, even the non-broadband users. Remember that the silver is free right out of the box and gold is subscription users.

"Seamless transition to xbox live account from xbox to xbox360"

Why is this not marked for silver? what the gamers cant transfer their account status and cancel the credit card payments for live without hassle? how nice of M$ to do this for them

You have to pay for the Gold service to transfer your Xbox Live account to 360? That's just cruel.

This is only speculation as of right now so it is not final.

One thing that trouble me is that the sliver people dont get to multiplayer online play. I dont know if that means they cant coop, or they cant play in deathmatchs or races. If its the later then the people not paying for the service will not get to experence How xbox live really is.

They will get Xbox Live weekends for free.. did you not see that right about the multiplayer thing?? So on the weekends youll be able to shoot it up with your friends on halo2, just not during the week day.

Its right under free xbox live weekends. It says "Multiplayer online play"

why would they offer you free weekends when its already free durrr, its because they are opening everything up on weekends. There are these really cool things that come in your new Xbox gamecases its called a 2 months free trial for Xbox Live... so instead of paying for a full year or to get the XboxLive kit you can just register with the 2 month free card and if you dont like it only use the service on the weekends or not at all.

THank god sony doesnt believe in paying for online. MS is soon going to realize that no one really gives a shit about profile coolness online. or making shirts and selling virtual shirts online.

You're wrong. I use to say the same thing, but as you start playing more online you start to look for the easy and most quickest way to do things. You want a profile you want your stats to be tracked...

I've never said that, I've always wanted Sony to have their own thing, and xbox has made something that I want. I hope sony just gives one gamertag and stuff. That's what I want, I want this cyberworld to be like xbox live. if not close to it.

You want a profile you want your stats to be tracked in every game to see how you compare to others.

I really dont think that the majority of the people who play online really care about stats. I know I dont, i have much more important things in life to care about game stats

The FPS community and MMO players care about stats... for obvious reasons... otherwise maybe fighting game fanatics would care after that... I don't think anyone cares and even within the FPS and fighting game community not everyone cares. Still it's a nice option. Kinda like having 3x gigabit ports on the PS3... I highly doubt everyone will use them, but it's nice for those that want it.

What they mean by seemless transistion is that Gold is equivelent to what Xbox Live currently is.

If you have a Xbox Live account, you buy a 360, you can just log in with it and keep playing online with no problem with all the Gold features.

Silver would be for those who connect the console to the internet, but don't yet have a Live account. They create their gamertag and get the "Silver" features. If they pay roughly $50 a year like current Xbox Live subscribers, they go up to Gold.

You're going to be in for a rude awakening? Sony does believe in paying for online.

After everything I've seen on the PS3, my hopes of Sony creating something that rivals Xbox Live is completely gone. I don't expect much from them, at least, not as much as I used to.

I like the idea of Silver/Gold.

What if Live had an option for users to just pay for the week's they wanted to play and not have to pay monthly or yearly if they don't want to?

I think that will be cool. I figure the more options the better. I think one thing gamers often screen about is choices.

Christopher Hayden, 19, took control of a BMW after playing a game of Gran Turismo on the PlayStation whilst parked up in a layby. He was driving on the wrong side of the road at night, going at speeds of up to 55mph in a 40mph area and smashed into a 79-year-old lady called Phylis Williams who died at the scene.

Judge Christopher Harvey Clark said: “One of the troubling features of the case is looking at and playing the game on the PlayStation beforehand, in the sense that he was playing a game involving vehicles of excessive speed immediately before his driving.â€

The title implies that gran turismo was the sole cause of the tragedy which is extemely controverstial.

I'd stick with the original title: "Driver caused fatal crash after using PlayStation in car"

Also you didn't mention the result i.e;

"Judge Clark fined Hayden £1,000 and deducted five points from his licence. He fined Budden £750 and took only three points from his licence as an “act of mercyâ€
