Rockstar’s released The Lost and Damned, GTA IV’s first major piece of DLC, as you can see here (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802545407f2/?p=1&of=3&sb=1).
The content’s priced at 1,600 MS Points, and features around 10 hours of gameplay.
You need the original GTA IV disc in the drive to play it, remember, and it’s a 360-only thing. Just in case you’d forgotten.

Hes downloading it right now. I already did and played a little bit of it. So far its way better than the original imo. Its awesome. Got my one percenter achievement too. lol

Err well i've only played the first mission.
But, the bikes seem a lot more responsive now.
They aren't just big pieces of lead with wheels attached.
You can maneuver them around corners and brake better, plus you cant fall off them quite as easily.
In Nikos story arc, the game has a very vibrant yellow lighting scheme thing going on, but in TLD it seems to have been toned down a bit.
Also, the voice acting is ****ing great.
The characters interact in the cutscenes like in a movie.
Its a very proffesional, cleanly made expansion pack

ive read somewere that there was going to be new vehicles and other new stuff ive also posted a thread about the new multiplayer modes
I'm downloading it now, not going to finish it for a while though. I'm moving states soon and will need something to play while I have no internet :P.
There is a new update for GTA IV (without L&D) and it bought with it the new bike physics, and I also noticed it runs better for people who have the game installed to the HDD, whereas before there wasn't a huge difference compared to playing from the disc. It looks like pop-in has been reduced too, and the game seems to generally stream a bit better.
Even so far without L&D, the new update has been awesome for me :D

If by SR2 you mean Saints row 2 I'd say graphically yea. But saints row is something GTA was years before, it was funny and fun to play. Not saying GTA IV is not fun to play but if you are a long time serie fan, its not as fun as it used to be and it definately isn't funny. This is why I'll pass on this one.

Yes they've certainly made the games plot more serious.
SR2 seems like a sequel to San Andreas

Now do you have to have GTAIV completed in order to take part in this, or is it just considered its own type of game all on its own? (Since I have yet to finish GTAIV yet which I am sad to admit.)
No but you need to have the original GTA IV to play it, obviously. It would make no sense if it required you to finish the game to take part in it. :P

I was trying to get away after doing that mission where Johnny and Niko go up into that apartment building to sell the drugs.
Afterwards, I jumped onto a speedbike, and tried to get away.
But every time you come close to exiting the cop zone, another one spawns ahead of you and you have to start all over again.
Its such a ******** system

I feel your pain and always complained about this. It can cause a lot of frustration at times as getting away from them can almost become impossible. I wish they would tone it down with the cops in all honesty. I also hate it when I accidentally hit a car while driving, then the force sends me up onto the sidewalk where I hit and kill a cop. *sigh* Here we go again....

This is also why I dislike the realistic driving, it combines badly with this wanted level system, I always stack or crash when being chased.

I'm going to pick up a copy of the 360 version this weekend just so I can play The Lost and the Damned...
does someone mind creating a list of everything that is new in the game? weapons, vehicles etc. So far i have found nowhere that gives me a list! I want to know exactly what im getting!

You guys are crazy the cop system is great, imo. For one you can tell where the cops are. Also they spawn ages in front of you so you have to change your course. Ya can't just get on highway and fang it.
The evasion system is challenging but not unfair. I had 6 stars and was driving and swapping cars for ten minutes, then going on boat and sneaking under jetties.

yh i agree, i dont think taht the cop system is that bad, o and same with the ps3 part as well, its a shame, but im ok, got killzone in 8 days.

I had a chance to play for a little bit last night. I must say, well worth the wait. I like the mood change in the environment as well. Granted, I only have about 45 minutes of game time in it so far with 9 hours left to go, but I love it so far.

I really like the look of this. Im thinking of getting myself a 360 sometime, after all it seems a shame to miss out on this, and im also intrigued about what storyline the second installment of DLC will follow.

10 hours is huge, bigger than most full priced games
I would only recommend buying this if you absolutely LOVE GTA4 otherwise its just more missions in the same city with a few new weapons.
I'm not going to be buying this, because it would mean buying GTA for mx 360 and i already have it on PS3.
I'll just wait for GTA5!!!

Ok have any of you noticed how JOHNNY has the same animation as NIKO while walking down the stairs. And that all GTA IV characters Ped or otherwise has the Same animation and online characters aswell. The same as NIKO

I wanted to make a thread about this. Which is interesting
to the fact that is abit pointless for all the characters and Peds to have the same animation for a such a powerfull engin that can do so much more

I totally agree. I'm enjoying this expansion more than I did the main game. The characters are very entertaining as well. This DLC is worth every penny.

Does anyone know how to get past the Elizabeth mission where you are shooting on the back of a bike at all those cops?
I bought armour, and then try to kill the cop cars, the helicopters and the swat teams but it just seems like I dont have enough health to make it past the part where you have to drop pipe bombs.
I found it pretty easy use that shotgun the really power full one and pipe bombs and the odd spray of the SMG.
When the heli arrives get rid of it before it takes your health right down.

not really jealous since i have it and beat it i was only letting people know what they are thowing $20 on. 5 hours of the 10 hours of gameplay you are doing filler missions like gang wars and bike races.
I loved Playing the Mission in the D.L.C. Yes 10 hours of mission gameplay
But with all the New bikes, cars, trucks and weapons will have me playing all the time Plus the New mini games like Cards, Arm wrestling and watching the new shows and listening to the new radio shows. This for me was well worth downloading and keeping

I'm disappointed with it. The characters were funny, but they weren't interesting. Johnny is forgetable and the majority of the missions felt cookie cutter at best.
I had fun playing it, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

Wow. I actually liked it better than the main game. I also liked the characters better. Niko Belleck in the main game was a boring character imo. But Billy and Johnny were awesome. Enoyed the new music too.

I thought Billy was funny, but Johnny was just boring. I prefer the main game's characters, but it's all preference.
I loved the new music and it's great that it transfers over to GTA IV's radio stations.

I know the cheats have no effect on the %. But i would like to beat it cheats free first
One thing i want to know is why have rockstar removed the choppers from free mode? If they are still there then where the hell are they located?

I am glad I downloaded it and have had fun with it but good grief they need to fix the freezes. I had a freeze in the first 10 minutes, another within an hour, and a few more the next few days.
Very, VERY annoying
