View Full Version : Planning ahead: Killzone 2 online trophy difficulty level

Hey guys, I'm trying to plan ahead with getting the KZ2 trophies... it is going to be quite a pleasure getting trophies for this game I'm sure. I'm just a little fearful about the difficulty level of one particular trophy.
If you haven't seen the list, here is one list to go by.

I was wondering how difficult is it to get the online rank of "General" on the gold trophy "Career Ribbon: Achieve an online rank of General". Would it be similar to GTA4's "Wanted" level? God forbid...
I know the game comes out in less than a week and don't know if the servers are running yet, but does anyone have any clue or idea how difficult this might be?
Probably the same as, GTA IV's 'Wanted', Motorstorm 2's 'Legend Rank', SKATE 2's 'Online Legend', Battlefield: Bad Company's 'General of The Army'. A general pain in the *** to get.

If you just pace yourself and play without the trophy in mind you'll get it eventually. Most people ruin their multiplayer experience when all they want are trophies and try to cram in hours upon hours of playing.
eg. me with the AWP trophy in gta iv.
EDIT: just realized the OP was Ambassador, who knows all too well the frustration of AWP ;)
I wonder if it's comparable to the amount of time of achieving max overall rank in R2? It is probably not so much difficult as it is time consuming. Well at least I'm hoping it is not terribly difficult lol. The trophies I'm personally concerned about are the ones that all have to do with you achieving weekly online honor rank, and doing it 4 times.
A lot of those trophies looked fairly easy to obtain.

I'm sure it won't be as hard as General in Warhawk... That trophy would take years to get, btw can't wait for Kz2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To me it does not matter if the game require 300 hour to go platinum because I will be palying Killzone 2 way longer than that. I like the game control and from the look of the online it will be like Warhawk all over again, LOL.

Doesn't look nearly as bad as others - 2800 points to get to General. It's 1 point per kill as well as points for team based things (ie blowing up things in search and destroy) and there's a win bonus :) Shouldn't be too hard really.

I've heard that that trophy is going to be the hardest to get, never mind getting general. Apparently to get these weekly honour trophies, you have to firstly, be a general, then be in the top 10% of player for that week to get rank #1, 6% for rank 2, 3% for rank 3 and 1% for rank 4 :shock:

as soon as I get this game I'm jumping into multiplayer first.

I like maxing out my rank on all my online games so this shouldn't be to tuff
Looks like a lot of fun! I will be playing this for fun, and not the trophies.. but I'm sure a platinum will still come out of it!:p

seeing how u need the top rank to get a sniper rifle...
im guessing its more like COD4/5's top rank...
so like 2 weeks MAX to get

According to Seb Downie this comes from ebing in the top 1% of the online (worldwide) community. Once for honour rank 1, twice for honour rank 2 etc etc

So this means that only a FEW amount of people are going to be able to get this trophy. Most likely the top people will stay at the top of the charts thus disabling everyone else from getting this bad boy?

Will it be in proportion to how many games you play? As people who only have time for an hour or so online play a night will never be able to get into the top percentile.

Hopefully after a patch they can change that trophy around because it is just ridiculous.
