Hi Im going to move soon but my area is not a Virgin Media area, I am looking for a deal that can beat O2 home broadband.

It is £12.23 a month, up to 8mbps speed (bearing in mind I can get a max of 6.5mbps) no download limits and no connection costs.

Can this be beaten? If so please list here.

P.S. It must run through a BT line and I stress no download limits!

Man, that is cheap, really cheap!
If you want anything cheaper you may have to sacrifice the speed.
But why do you want it cheaper anyways?

I got the 10mb Fibre Optic from Virgin and i have to pay 16 pounds and 20 something after the first 6 months.:(

If you get yourself an o2 SIM card and top it up £10 every 3months o2 broadband will only cost £7.50.

and, its a good reliable service and great support.

Not as I know of accept the dude above the PAYG. O2 are a great company to go with for a mobile unless you have contract because they offer so much for a measly 10 quid.

So in this case you could get -

Cheaper internet being with PAYG

300 messages per month, prob more now and 100 mins of calls all for 10 pounds credit, or keep the credit and don't have the 100 mins and use it for whatever.

Anyway, I was about to go with O2 till the dreaded AOL who I was with but contract ran out so I rang them for my mac code and got my net for 7 quid a month with free local calls and cheap mobiles :)

As your moving into a new house though or whatever and Virgin are not in that area you cant bargain with them so I say O2 would be best. They offer a great service from what I have been told too.

I've been o2 BB for a while now, you won't regret it if you go to them dude.

I'm paying £7.50 a month for BB from them, had like one minor problem which they sorted in half an hour. Great stable connection, cheap price, excellent customer service, I couldn't ask for anything more.

It can't beat it on price, but for £17 you can get 24Mb (uncapped) with www.bethere.co.uk I've been with them for over 2 years now. They're owned by O2 but because they have their own switches in the exchanges they are the only company who can offer that speed down the phoneline.
You get a free wireless router as well. It costs £25 to sign up but if some recommends you, its free connection.

LOL you fell for it, they tried that with me too only I saw through it.
BT are good from,a service point of view I was with them since 2003 with no problems at all until 10 months ago my speed kept dropping after 6pm i phoend their crappy support up to inquire they told me it was "congestion" i knew it wass bull poop they were restricting my speed deliberately, then the final straw was I got an email telling me I used 8GB of my 10GB limit err WTF I never had a limit before i was never told about this so again i called them spent 2 hours tryign to find a person that could help me so i lost the plot and requested a MAC but was told "thats a different department" ARGGHGHFGh another 1 hour being passed around from department to department then i finally got through to someone that knew what they were talking about.
BT good when it works and it does 99% of the time but that 1% doesnt make it worth it if you ask me.
Turns out that Email they sent me was a mistake, that mistake just cost them a customer.

Now with Bethere which is faster and cheaper than BT however the last couple of weeks there has been problems which seem to be fixed now and as the OP is with O2 i bet he had the same problems, High pings and slow download speeds?

Cheers lads for all the great feedback. Im stuck at my parents at the mo but until everything is sorted out I will quickly ring up BT and O2 to get switched on.

The reason I also asked was if you had bad experinences with any ISP, I think I have made my mind up and will choose O2 cause I imagine there is less congestion but dont quote me on that.

I was going to choose Virgin National Service which runs through a BT line but I was reading the small print (geek) and it said it doesnt support online gaming i.e. PS3

I will +REP you all cheers.
