Ok so today on HOME, I turned my avatar into a girl and i started messing around with all these guys, and after a while i started saying dirty things and then I get signed out of psn. It says "Cannot use psn with this account", so I'm wondering if i can find out how long the ban is, if its permanent, can I recover my account...any tips???

psn would send you a e-mail. have you tried checkig your e-mails. try ringing them. also just make another account, just be glad they never banned your console

I'm sorry to say, like a lot of other people have said that you deserve to be banned from PSN, at least this shows that Sony want PSN to be a clean place and take the action needed

If your banned you'll get an E-mail telling why and for how long. If you havent had one then your not banned.

Yeh don't worry i understand home is for all ages so it would be risky saying anything bad on it when there is a report button.

The exact reason I don't use Home anymore. You get banned for any small thing you do.
Also, you don't have an IP ban so changing your IP wouldn't work. They banned your MAC adress (your PS3 itself)
What I did when I got banned was calling Sony after about 2 weeks and telling them what hapenned. They will ask around and they'll call you back. I got unbanned a few days before they called, but it shouldn't take long before they call you back.. :)

actually, no. i know many people who share their ps3 with their lil brother and they have their own psn id. that would just be mean. you couldn't even sell the ps3 properly then.

No they would not send him a email if he got ban.. Because when i got banned i didn't get a email..

UPDATE: I called Sony yesterday and it appears that tomorrow's my last day for being banned. The mod was lenient with me so I'm lucky. Thank God I don't have to get a new account or ps3 :neutral:

I been almost ban,i was on HOME and i said the f word and a MOD said to watch my language and i said f*** the MODS,she/he said it again and i kept saying things and then he/she tryed to kick me out of the theater and sending me to my room and i kept comming back because i press start and goto my friend,she/he then controlled my player and moved me to the corner and i couldnt move or saying anything and then i got off HOME came back and went again to my friend and starting cursing at the MOD and she made me goto to my apartment,she/he pop up in my room and told me my account will be reviewed and i said ok ill just make another and he/she said not only will your PSN ID will be banned but your ps3 from online.Then i said ok ill stop being a jerk and he/she stopped controlling me.I never got banned though must be because i stopped and said sorry.
I think that this banning is all good stuff. I've been online for almost ten years now and the internet has got very boring with teenagers...or even older... thinking that it's hilarious to abuse people behind the safety of a Dell monitor. There's nothing wrong with the odd swear in the heat of battle, but to abuse others in an arena like Home, where parents with kids feel it's safe to hang out....well it doesn't make PS3 much fun does it?
Players quickly forget that a PS3 isn't a hardcore gamer's tool, it's a console with a 15 year history of being the prime gadget in the family household. I worked for a major electronics retailer when PS1 was released in 1994 and all the consoles we sold went to households with kids in them. I don't expect kids to be hidden from swearwords while they game on a PS, but I do expect that persistant and unnecessary sexually abusive behaviour should not be allowed or tolerated.
Hopefully the more people end up banned like this the more will realise that acting like an idiot will get you treated like an idiot and removed from the network that Sony provide, for free don't forget, for the use of everyone regardless of their age or ability.
To the OP, it's pleasing to see that you are contrite about what happened. Seems that the system works and everyone is happy again :)

You should contact Sony and ask how long your ban is. And if you get unbanned, then you should start respecting the rules instead of doing rude things, mate. That's how people get banned in the first place.
Maybe some countries should learn not to be so prudish (especially the USA). Then some baaaad people wouldn´t get banned directly.

Firstly: LOL at your funny behaviour. I know Home can get a little boring at times but you had to resort to that?
Not that you didn't deserve it, but you can try contacting Sony and appealing against the ban. If your account is worth that much to you, with a little bit of honesty and lots of apologetic behaviour you can possibly get it back. But if your account isn't too important then I wouldn't bother, just start a new one.

Hmm... The "said dirty things" may be the part that got you banned. I switch my avatar to a girl all the time on Home, and wait for guys to come to me.
