Ok tho im not a 100% Fan of this series but witch is worth going for the PSone version of its release, or go for the NGC version.
I know NGC Has more RE Version such as 0, 1, 2, 3, & 4 & PS2 version also has Code V witch i bought that on dreamcast long ago.
Kinda hard to try to choice them an no im not going for the PSN version, i like to play this ether on my PS2 or NGC.

PS1, I think the GCN version, like the MGS remake, didnt really suit the graphics. Play it in its original glory I say!

Gotta pick the PS1 version for the voice acting alone. GC ruined the Jill sandwich line.

Never fails to crack me up.
Jill it might be handy if you, the master of sandwich, search for the lost captain and WESKER!!!! Okay?
If you can find the original play it. Although the NGC did have Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid they were rubbish.
Don't listen to those who say the original is the best, I don't know what they are smoking but that's just simply not true. While Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes' GC remakes changes may have, arguably, been for the worse, REmake is the complete opposite.
REmake on GameCube CRAPS on the original. It's better in every way. They've added a 180-degree turn which makes controlling the characters quite a lot better (it still has tank-controls, but they are much more bearable when you can quickly go to to the other direction), made some other gameplay improvements, there are additional cutscenes, new endings, new unlockable game modes, new secrets, completely new areas & rooms, the voice-acting & dialogue is VASTLY superior and the updated graphics are STILL awesome to look at and really help improving the scary atmosphere of the game. There's just no competition between the two.
REmake takes Resident Evil to the 21st century and there's no going back after it. The original feels like it was made in the stone age after playing the REmake.

the original is a classic, but i understand that most of these kids on here would choose the REmake simply because they probably don't know what it felt like to play the original when it was new, i was very young and it was one of the scariest things that i have ever experienced.
the REmake is awesome too, the only reason I am not agreeing that it is better than the PS1 is simply because the original is a classic, like i have stated.

Same reason for me, playing it all them years ago, a remake just wouldn't top it, just like an FF7 remake wont top the original for me - even if the remake doesn't mess up and is an all round perfect game, it wont have the nostalgia like the original.
Meh, I was 9 years old (and older than you, valium) when I played the original, yet I can still see that there's just nothing in the original that would make it a better experience than REmake. I'm one who thinks nostalgia is a thing that shouldn't be taken into account in anything, since most of the time you remember things better than they really are. There might be some warm feeling when you remember the time you saw the Jill Sandwitch for the first time, but I don't believe you should recommend anyone the original just because of that. He's playing the game for the first time in 2009, not in the 1990s, so chances are he won't find the same magic in the B class acting as you do.
