The European Blog might well have seen some complaints yesterday at the relatively poor Store Update (http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/07/16/playstation-store-update-160709/), but next week’s is looking like a cracker. Alongside Sidhe’s Shatter we’ll have Square Enix’s Crystal Defenders, a Final Fantasy inspired tower defence simulation game. Featuring jobs and locations from Final Fantasy Tactics, the game requires players to strategically deploy units to fend off encroaching enemy hordes and prevent them from stealing their party’s crystals.
New valuable allies, spectacular esper summons and unit enhancing Power Crystals will add extra tactical depth. A worldwide ranking system allows players to upload their scores to leaderboards via the PlayStation Network and see how they stack up against other players around the globe. “With the release of CRYSTAL DEFENDERS,” said Larry Sparks, Vice President Brands PAL Region of Square Enix Ltd, “Square Enix shows its commitment in providing high quality digital content for all platforms.”
