mkv files

I downloaded an mkv (blu-ray rip) file it is in 720p my tv does not do 720 but i dont think it matters, i tried to streamit to my ps3 & it says corrupted data (plays on my pc) . does the ps3 play mkv files from my understanding, it does or do i have do to something special to get it to play

It doesn't play them matey.

You want to get a converter - the one that I was adised to use and I did (it works brilliantly) is mkv2vob - it's freeware and doesn't take long at all and absolutely no loss in quality as far as I can see!

What method have you tried to stream the file?

If you haven't yet, you might try PS3 Media Server ( http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/ ) to get it streamed from your pc to ps3. :)
