As I think this over more and more 2 more games are staring me in the face. Earthbound for SNES, and Punchout for NES.

I’d say all the games I remember playing in my childhood.....those were the days *drifts away into the past*

It's okay - it'll be moved when a mod sees it. I'm seriously considering getting a Revolution just to play some classic Turok. Man, that game defined coolness back in my youth.

I would download nothing because i wouldn't own one.

The reasons:
1. A computer can download NES,SNES,N64,and Gamecube and emulate them BUT it wouldn't be as fun because it's a computer but on the other hand it's free!
2. Only nentendo games are downloadable at this time.

All the Zeldas
Donkey Kong 64
Maybe the Banjos
The Fire Emblems would be nice

And that should be enough to keep me happy for a while.

This thread is not asking you to state whether you will get one or not, this thread is asking which games you would get if you were to get one.

Why not just buy an N64 and a SNES, they cost next to nothing. I'm playing these old games right now, so I don't see what the fuss is about that you can play them on a different box.

I would probably get Mario 64, Mario Kart 64 and Banjo-Kazooie. Those were easily my favourite three games on the Nintendo 64. Although Legend of Zelda and Goldeneye are are also great games.

defiantly the super mario series. i could play those for hours and hours

I would download

Mario 64
Super Mario World
Super Mario Bros

Lefein
07-04-2005, 22:36
The DragonWarrior series

Oh and Faxanadu as well as Wizards and Warriors! God, umm Metroid...

(yes I realize the ROMs are out there, but if there is ever a way I can officially support old school gaming then I will most certainly do so.)

Hopefully, Nintendo will monitor what games are getting downloaded and develop new Revolution titles accordingly (as well as fresh new titles, of course!)

Nintendo Online service is free. I think downloading the games to the system are all free as so far nintendo did not say yet that they would change. but if they did it would be cheap. also most of the games you can get on the internet and I think nintendo is puting that to a stop or a pull away for people who do it. I might buy a Revolution to to play all the old games. You would save alot of space on you house if you just had one system and not like 12 system if one system can play all the games on one system.

lets see:

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Well, thats what I want for Zelda stuff... I don't know if I'll be able to download all of those, but any I can download, i certainly will.

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong Jnr

Mario Bros

Super Mario Bros NES

Super Mario

Donkey Kong & Mario Bros

Super Mario Bros 2

Super Mario Land

Super Mario Bros 3

Super Mario World

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

Super Mario 64

Super Mario Sunshine

That is probably all I want for Mario games, and of course, all the Mario Party games.

Well this is getting to be a hefty little assignment here, so I will end it with only a few First Person Shooter games that I loved.

Perfect Dark

Goldeneye

Duke Nukem 64

Why wouldn't you guys just play Ocarina Of Time the gamecube version? I guess no one ever got that. It came with the Master Quest Version which actually made the game hard.

Oh and a question can we download ANY games that were on the NES, SNES and the others. Or just games published by nintendo?

If it wasn't just nintendo then i would download, Breath Of Fire 1 and 2, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, um. wow my mind just went blank oh well..ha

Delfino
07-08-2005, 01:55
i would download GoldenEye 007 (my favorite 64 game)

Are you aware that thats illegal? You have to own the games, and since you mentioned it, I highly doubt you do. PSX emulation isn't illegal since you need the disk just to play it.

It would be a lot more fun to play them on the console anyways.

I would probably download well, nothing. Maybe Mario series, and Zelda Series but thats it.

It's not if you own the games and i own 7 for the SNES. And yes your right about it being more fun to play on the consoles but that's what the PS3 is for anyways. And you don't need the disks to emulate PS1 games at all. You can use ISO files for that easy.

DeputyDon
07-10-2005, 02:24
I know that you don't need the disks to emulate ps1 games. But Sony never sued because you need the games to make the isos to begin with. Most websites didn't give out ISO at the time due to limited space on their site. I stated in the thing you quoted that you had to own the game (just so you know). Yeah, so thats mainly why its legal to use ISOs and illegal to use ROMs (unless you own the game).

I would definetly download Goldeneye 007, and maybe Perfect Dark. Also Mario Kart, and Mario 64, but that would be about it, so I don't think I can justify buying a Revolution just for the throwback games.

smitty61

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mario 64
Donkey Kong 64
Donkey Kong Country

DeputyDon

smitty61 and I think alike on this subject. I would also download Starfox 64 and Super Metroid and pretty much every mario game.

smitty61
08-03-2005, 03:39
I also like the new starfox for gamecube. I don't own a gamecube I played it at my friend's house and I liked it. Espically since you had to do a little running around as Starfox. Super Metroid was also a great game and one of the first few I ever bought. SNES was my first system and I'm glad. It had a lot of good games. As for the Mario series I would want Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario Brothers 3, and Mario Party 1. I still have fun playing that with my friends.

DeputyDon
08-03-2005, 03:47
I played the first starfox on gamecube ( i forgot the name) but not the new one that came out somewhat recently

smitty61
08-03-2005, 03:50
I can't remember what it's called but I liked it. I know that in the second or third level you are running around and you have to shoot thing. The first level is basic starfox flying in space shooting things. :D :D I love Starfox games.

The Chocobo Kid
08-04-2005, 03:19
Ocarina Of Time is old man. you can play that on the Nintendo R. anyway I never got pass the first part with the moon coming down on you and stuff.

08-04-2005, 03:22
Did you guys play the mario game where you had to be Luigi? It was called Luigi's mansion or something for the 64. If you did play it was it any good because I'm thinking of downloading it if it was good.

DeputyDon
08-04-2005, 03:23
It was Luigi's Mansion but I think it was for gamecube not N64. So chances of finding that online will be difficult.

smitty61
08-04-2005, 03:25
Oh I knew it was for one of them. Well if they still haev it available I'll go to my friend's house and rent it and play it. did you play it? Is it worth renting?

DeputyDon
08-04-2005, 03:30
hmmm, I did play it, but it was weird. Like its nothing like a mario game. I think Mario is kidnapped or something, and Luigi has to use like a sweeper and gameboy or something to catch ghosts in the mansion. so its an odd type of game. If you are a fan of Mario games this has some interesting features in it. But it was one of the first gamecube games I ever played so I remember it only slightly.

Gamespot gave it a 7.9. Thats not too bad. http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/action/luigismansion/index.html?q=luigi%5C%27s+mansion

smitty61
08-04-2005, 03:37

I just recalled a really incredible game from my childhood which I played the heck out of! That was Earthbound for SNES which is probably (in my eyes) the best game for that console. Has anyone else ever played that game? IT ROCKS!

DeputyDon
08-18-2005, 16:14
I played the game using an emulator. I only got about Half way through the game though. It was fun and had a nice story, but I just never really got into the game.

justintheman99
08-18-2005, 17:18
Since this thread is devoted to who will download "classic" old school Nintendo games. How many people still own the old consoles?

I have a SNES thats it. My regular NES kicked the bucket, and in the course of my younger days I sold my N64 and 23 games! Truly the most stupid decision of my life........I will forever regret doing that.

Ah, the SNES brings back some good memories. A good percentage of the games I own right now are SNES games. Me and my older brother would play Mario Kart and so many other multiplayer games, and there were plenty of great single player games too. Those were the days...
