Microsoft's 343 Industries, the studio created to head up Microsoft's continuing Halo efforts once Halo:Reach is completed by Bungie next year, announced this morning via Twitter that Metal Gear Solid 4 Sound Director Sotaro Tojima has joined the studio to work on current projects there. This is the second high profile hire for 343 from the MGS4 team, as former Kojima Productions/MGS4 Associate Producer Ryan Payton joined Microsoft's Seattle based initiative in August of last year. This is the second eyebrow raising recent personnel change for Konami, as Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka also left the publisher this month.

Screw it!! I say Hideo might as well jump the bridge and joined MS. Wonder how the devoted followers would take that?

Microsoft can't get Hideo Kojima, so they buy up his team 1 by 1, lol.

I don't see why he'd jump tho, ALL previous MGS games on Playstation have served him well in awards and sales.

Interesting news indeed. I am not really sure what exactly to say about it to be honest.

So when are 343 Industries going to make a game? Have they announced one?

I'm guessing they'll announce what they're working on once Reach has shipped.

Be interesting to see what this team does now, they certainly have the talent required to produce some AAA games.

Bit worried how this will affect future PS3 Kojima games though. He's losing some serious talent to Microsoft; the sound in MGS4 was one of the best features and is a massive loss to the team.

I can definitely see Kojima going to Microsoft in the future though, if he's given the right offer.

MAKE IT HAPPEN MICROSOFT! :)

Its for the nextbox, so it won't be formally announced until the nextbox is announced.

The thing is... It's not Hideo Kojima.

Keep this in perspective. The guy is a legend and he was the driving force behind the epic MGS series. Not some sound dude who I am sure is talented but I've never heard of him.

Kojima is staying put by the looks of things. He always said Blu-Ray made MGS4 possible and why would he develop for a console without it. Unless money talks.

I hope he does well in his new job. Lets hope he can make Halo have better music. I just want to thank him for the wonderful music he has made for Metal Gear Solid 4 and I hope he becomes succesful elswhere

The sound director shouldn't be responsible for music as far as i know.More like in-game sounds.Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori probably won't be composing for Halo after Reach.

No i like the halo music. Its just the fact that its really repetetive, having the same thing over and over again. I like the tune, but after like 9 years its a bit annoying and i hope that this guy can give a new sound to the halo music

Ah, I see what you mean. I can agree with that, great tune, but it does get a bit hold. I like the direction Halo Wars went, they kept the same style (piano and soft techno) but had a different tune. Personally, I hope halo Reach does something similar.

A lot of series maintain a certain theme. Still, they've featured a lot of different music than just the main theme. ODST didn't have familiar themes.Of course they maintain a similar style.
