View Full Version : My 360 Finally got it... how annoying. RRoD.
My 360 Finally gave in and got the Red ring of death today!
Now I guess I am a bit annoyed because it's Christmas... I only just got a few games for it and being barely one hour in to the game I shall now spend the rest of my christmas break off without my xbox 360 and will have to wait until sometime during the college term to enjoy my games which means I pretty much will not have the time to. *Sighs*
I think it's time I begin pulling out my good old trusty PC Games and play them for a bit.
Anyway it was a rather fun RRoD. First I loaded up the dashboard and everything froze. I got a weird beep noise and then some static showed up on the left hand side of the screen and slowly moved to the right....then it died. Haha.
Oh well. I'll await for it to be sent off...whenever that may be :P

From the report, to console arrival back to my house, it took mine a week.
Because of the period of time we're in they said expect up to three weeks.
Oh well. I got borderlands on the steam deals this week so I guess i'll play that and give that a go :)

yep Same here
The Quicker you can book UPS shipping (Which is Free) then the quicker you,ll get another 360 shipped back in the UK our Consoles go to Germany
Ouch... three weeks? I would be upset over that for sure. I didn't think about other regions... dayum! I'm glad I had my PS3 to keep me occupied for just that seven days.
mine took a month but that was in the midst of the RROD plague some time back, very much doubt the waiting time is anywhere near that these days. i guess there telling you 3 weeks so you dont start going crazy if its not back in 7 days lol
get on the steam sale and treat yourself;)

Ah, I hope it's that fast though because of 1st of Jan and it being Christmas time I can see delays.

Haha yeah. I have a PS3 Too but I just cannot think of what games to buy. I should probably buy Uncharted 1 at some point and actually get into using my PS3 more.

I have had 4 RRODs. The first one took about 2 weeks, second about 2 weeks, 3rd took about 6 weeks (don't get me started) and the last one, which was about a year ago, took about a week. I think they are getting faster now that they don't have a back log of millions of RRODs in service.
im interested to know if they still include the month free gold code in the box when they have fixed it and returned it to you?

All of mine did have it. However, a friend of mine had his fixed and returned about 6 months ago, and he did not receive one of those cards.

Alright well that's good to know.

I'll soon find out. If I get one I'll give it away to someone.

They probably check to see if you have a paid gold subscription.

Nah. I had 6 months left on my gold sub when my 360 RRoD'd, and I received a free month card upon return of my system.

Well, the reason they do that is, some people had their 360 in repair for a month, therefore losing a month of activity on their paid subscription. They send out the free month to offset that.

Again, that would be inconsistent with my situation. My console was only gone a week total.
I think it's a consolidation gift for members being inconvenienced with their consoles being gone due to the hardware problem.

That very well could be. However, early on in the RROD 3 years ago, it was much longer than a week. Now a days, yes, it's much closer to a week. It probably remains offered as a consolidation.

Took them 3 weeks to get it back to me during Christmas last year.. but it might be different now.
Alright. I got a question now x.x
So I just checked my email and about 10mins ago I got an email which basically asks me if I want labels sent to me or print them. Anyway both links in it lead to a UPS Collection page which doesnt change depending on the one I click on... The problem is..is this microsoft messing up because on the phone I already told her I wanted them sent to me and collected.
