View Full Version : AOL Broadband
I only just got broadband the other day and I haven't tried very hard to configure my PS2's network adaptor yet, but when I do go online and play SOCOM I will let everyone know my handle. Problem is I have AOL as my ISP for Broadband and its a bit frustrating trying to get the PS2 Network Adaptor to work with it, but I got a new router the other day which should solve the problem :D .

why on earth did ya get aol :o , ntl and bt are much cheaper and a hella of alot cheaper bit of advice chuck aol out the window and get ntl or bt :P
I agree, I used to have AOL when I had dial-up...I'll never go back to them.
Yea I agree 100%! I hate AOL like both of you, but there are reasons;
1) They were offering a special offer which was the cheapest I found. (And I did a lot of looking but AOL was pretty cheap with their offer).
2) My dad uses them for his primary business email account so he couldn’t easily switch to another ISP without setting up difficult email routing procedures and still having to pay AOL monthly for use of the email account.
3) They were also pretty easy to set up and AOL used an ADSL line rather than Cable like NTL which would involve digging up the road I live on..
4) The decision was out of my hands :cry:.
But, it doesn’t really matter It's all working pretty nicely at the moment.

i think aol has to be 1 of the worst ISP's around lol :P they even give ya a webcam wen u sign up for their broadband that shows how desperate they are for customers eh :lol:
Every broadband ISP throws in some kind of bonus though...to attract customers. When I sighned up for Verizon DSL service they included MSN Premium...but yea AOL sucks.
What I hate the most about AOL is their need to completely control everything that you do whilst using their setup. The user gets no customisation and choice at all. This is great for mum and grandpa, but anyone who knows at least something about what their doing wants some customisation!

IGN has confirmed that WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2007 will be released for PlayStation 3.
The game will also launch on PlayStation 2, PSP and Xbox 360. It is the first time THQ's SmackDown franchise will feature on a non-Sony product.
The game will be released for both generations of consoles later this year, possibly as a PS3 launch title.
"WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2007 combines ambitious, exciting features, such as the interactive fighting area within the crowd and a brand new analog control grappling system, which enhance the WWE videogame experience," said Nelo Lucich, vice president of interactive, JAKKS Pacific.
Unfortunately, the specifics of the new grappling system are unknown, but more realistic fighting and intuitive movement is expected.
Season mode will see major improvements, offering "an unprecedented level of player choice". Arenas will be even more interactive, with players being able to take signs, and other objects, from the crowd to use as weapons (although how effective cardboard signs would be is yet to be seen).
There will be many more weapons available and brand new "High Impact Combination Moves". The already impressive General Manager mode will be expanded, online play will feature voice chat, and PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be in high definition.
