A pretty generic PR response imo. But obviously MS felt the need to respond to this in some fashion since all this 360 Slim failure talk could adversely affect sales by scaring consumers away.

very generic, and doesnt really respond to the issue. even so, theres always issues with tech, hell look, apple are having issues with the new iPhone and if there's one thing you can usually guarantee from apple its well built stuff.

I'll go out on a limb and say it's a bit too early to write off the slim as a new failure prone console. We've seen reports of some failures but that's to be expected. It's not stopping me getting mine delivered in a few weeks.
i think the fact that MS felt the need to comment at all means theres some truth behind it. Maybe not lots, but at least some.

I agree F34R. It's better to come out and respond than to not respond at all in this scenario.
I also agree with serge, these things are expected. When it starts happening to the majority it becomes a problem.

How many reports are we talking about?
Ive seen the Neo gaf post which is clearly some **** blocvking the vent because he hit and ran and never explained the pictures.
This, its worth nothing was thermal protection kicking in. Not a failure.
The only real one I have see is the power brick failure.
Are there more?

I disagree. But NOT responding, you are basically conceding the fact. You really have to try to dispel untruths or they become truths in the public eye.

Both the people defending and attacking the 360 are wrong. For god's sake this console has only been out for a few days.
1) There are only what... 2 reports stated so far? If you want to make a case that the 360 has a problem wait for a few weeks/months.
2) We don't know if it will suffer any problems in the future so you can't say if any of these little reports may be a person trying to get attention or a valid problem.
- I am the proud owner of one of these new 360's so don't make the case that I am "troll or xbox attacker" as far too many people do in this section. (none of you are right now but as with any 360 thread with criticism in this section..it leads to blind arguments)
just because one console mess's up dont mean they all will lol

I flip anyone the 'bird' (anyone) who is trying to discredit the new Valhalla SKU based on one guys claim his power brick failed.
If that is all people have then they're seriously threatened by the new 360 and I hope for those particular individuals (whoever they are) that the 360 outsells the Wii so you can cry into your pillows at night. ;)

Yeah I went and watched Flying High 2 at the movies, god I laughed so hard. I still remember it.
I loved Flying High/Airplane titles as well as the Naked Gun titles.
They were ****ers, plenty of humor all-round.

On another note i think the internet and a llot of sites want this console to have faults, they can;t handle that it wont. it must have sold tons already, and to have 1 fault is normal. Not the best thing, but its bound to happen.
Im sure there was a faulty slim ps3 somewhere at its launch, and what about the videos of them not reading disks, shuttng themselves down, completely cutting off power, not allowing disks to be inserted. there is allot of videos of faulty ps3 slims, yet as usual only the 360 gets heat on these boards

It took more than a year before people realized there was a significant problem with the 360 and another year before it got heavy enough for people to talk about non stop. Even if the power brick can be a new problem it seems way to early to liken this to RROD and it is a much cheaper issue to fix.
