View Full Version : PS3 Move - Are you going to buy?
I think I'll be getting at least the main controller on day 1

Buying it day 1. I have never doubted the awesomeness of Move or how it will enhance games across many genres. I'm saving RE5: GE for Move and will get one of the launch titles as an addition. I want to experience my PS3 to the fullest!
I was going to avoid it after being disappointed with previous Sony peripherals, but it looks like being worth buying with successful implementation in titles like SOCOM, KZ3 and RUSE for example. I don't see a killer-app (and I'm getting Heavy Rain and RE5 to play at launch, none of the new stuff so far), but Move looks like it will have legs and a killer-app might be appearing soon, with any luck.
The level of precision is really what I hoped the Wii would offer. After playing the Wii I realised it didn't have the accuracy and that I would be bored of waving my arms in 'roughly' the right way. Sports games can finally be delivered with the finesse needed to actually allow for real skill to shine through. Virtua Tennis and Tiger Woods should be great with the Move.
Given that the move offers the full 3D movement including depth, I can see with the addition of a 3D TV games built for both could be quite spectacular.
I'm getting it straight away, probably with either Sports Champions or Start the Party. If it proves to be rubbish (which I don't think it will), I'll sell it - along with the Eye camera that I already own (which has been collecting dust for about 2 years!).

Gonna wait it out... there is soooo many games I want already.... cant really afford to muck aroudn with Move atm
I was going to wait it out a bit. From everything I've read and watched, I think it'll be a safe bet from the start for me and the family. It might be cost prohibitive to get it all at once, but at least a starter package on day 1.
Day 1. I don't know why people have such a downer on the Move controller.
Christmas buy definitely since the more hardcore MOVE games are coming out in 2011 and it will be cheaper during Xmas.

It is a possibility I might get one, but only if there is a game good enough to warrant for the purchase.
Maybe Resident Evil 6 with Move support?
I got mine pre-ordered, so yes, day one.
Day 1. I don't know why people have such a downer on the Move controller.
Maybe because they don't like motion controls? People have different opinions, it happens.

day one,
i dont, im really pumped for it. the fact it caters to hardcore and causuals unlike kinetic is making me want it. and its only £42!!
im getting kinetic for my kids for xmas and when there are some games for me that arent wii clones, i will get.

This. And maybe they arn't really interested in the titles it has to offer atm.
Day 1 for me also. Start The Party + 1 Move.
Day one for me as well I've been a believer for awhile

Or that they already had the Wii and Move to them seems less exciting compare to the ones that never own the Wii.

Cant decide to pre-order it or not, Really wanted to play Table Tennis with friends but it seems it's not online which defeats the purpose, well for me anyway.

Of course I am! £42.99 from shopto, thank you veryyyyy much :) just out of interest, anyone doing it cheaper, whether the starter or Move+Eye?

I'd wait for a dedicated title like Hustle Kings Pool which I believe might be getting Move support.

I've got 2 Move's and a Navigation controller on pre-order.
There is a difference to just not wanting something and dogging it at every opportunity.
If you don't want PS Move then fine, don't get it, but the people who come into these forums with "MOVE IS TEH SUCK!" is just ridiculous.
Well I still haven't seen the bundle I want - Move+Nav+Game $99 so I'll probably not buy one right away. Maybe they're waiting for the people who got the first move bundles to want to expand before releasing such a bundle. But for those of us w/ a Camera already, that would be ideal. And it's a great idea for those who are wanting to get a full kit, plus second set of controllers.

Yup. I'll be playing sports champions (it'll have dlc at some point! woot!) that comes with the bundle, and MAG, that's coming in a few days.

I don't think they're going to do a Navcon bundle becuase they've said it's not necessary to purchase it, so they aren't going to force it on anyone. Although i'm sure they would have a change of heart if enough people requested one.

Heck I've already got the bundle, an additional move controller + navigation controller already paid for. I'm just waiting for it to come out.

Nope, if I wanted casual party games I'd have bought a Wii. Conventional controllers will murder the Move in regular games, nobody will be playing FPS or racing games beyond the novelty of a couple of days, it'll be like flying your dragon with tilt controls all over again.
That said, Singstar Dance is a perfect fit and could be great for drunken guests. Not as good as the Kinect version of course, which wouldn't even require the flailing buffoon hold a controller.
Me buying it all stems on if theres a SOCOM 4 Bundle next year.

Do you know how wrong you are? (Apart from the racing car part, as Idont see how that'll work)
Move would be way more accurate then regular controls.. and I will be playing FPS, and TPS games with move if theres a SOCOM 4 bundle. ;)

Will get is just for Sorcery most likely, however I'll wait it out.

I don't think they will, we'll have to see. I've played the kind of games which use light guns and would much rather move my thumbs in controlled movements than wave my wholly extended arms in large arcs. Just as for a mouse, games would have to be made to support the Move, otherwise the controls' responsiveness would be exactly the same as a gamepad, and I don't think most multiplatform devs will bother. Sony have not set a good precedent with pushing devs to adopt their quirky innovations, witness (PS)Eye(Toy), Sixaxis, custom soundtracks, etc, I think Move will just be more unused plastic sitting at the back of the closet six months after purchase.
I'll be picking up the PS3 Move Bundle on day one.

If you're playing an FPS, for examle, there should be no problem in you resting your hands and simply using wrist movements to aim. Now, in something like Sorcery you might have to be a bit more animated and especially in more motion intensive games like The Fight or something like that, but just because a game using motion control or allows pointing in a game doesn't mean you'll be flailing about wildly just to play. In any case, so far devs seem to be on board with it, but we'll see when next year comes around and newly developed titles are being made while publishers have Move kits to work with. One reason, for instance, that Black Ops won't have Move support is because the game was in development well before Treyarch got their hands on development material for it.

I went and preordered 2 controllers yesterday along with my copy of NHL11. I already own the camera. I was on the fence about getting this day one, but I am more then convinced now.

Preordered move and resdent evil 5 gold edition yesterday.
I could make my mind up to be honest but since seeing some more of the tech demo's I am now fully commited.
Looks an amazing piece of kit and impressive accuary.
I'm definitely not a day one purchaser of Move. I will be waiting until there's at least an established catalogue of games available. Full games that is, not party games.

Not interested at all!
I'm a lazy gamer and i just want to sit on my *** and play games, not standing up waving my arms around like an idiot.
Any bundle that includes, Move, Navigation, Eye, and a game.

Clearly you haven't seen the list for 45+ games for the Move xD

I will be buying it but I don't know when yet. I may do so when it comes out or at a later date. We shall see.

There's a huge difference between having all those games on a list off what's coming and on a shelf ready for purchase.
How long has GT5 been listed? Lol
If I already have the PS Eye, should I
-Spend the $100 and sell the extra camera?
-Spend the $100 and keep it all
-Spend $100 on 2 Move controllers?
I don't know if I'm really interested in the Sports Champion games. I think my first move game will be Heavy Rain when it gets patched. I also don't know about buying any sub controllers. You can use the DS3 held sideways. I tried it, it's comfortable.

If you don't want Sports Champions and you have the camera, then just pick up two Move controllers. The package deal only saves you about $30 if you use it all anyway.
Also, people really seem so misinformed about how you have to use the DS3 one handed. The X and O buttons on the Nav are the same as the X and O on the Move, so you don't need to use them, they are just there for added convenience. Read a Move FAQ...
If you are using the DS3, you would just hold it in your left hand the same way you would normally hold the controller, since the only buttons you'll be using is the D-Pad, L3, and L1/L2.

Would love to know the best deal for a Move bundle, bearing in mind that I don't have a PSeye. Thanks! I have the Shopto Starter kit for £43 at the moment.

Game are selling the move from £34.99 which has now got a bit interesting and by then I would have saved enough money two Playstation Move's, Kung-fu rider and Sports Champions.
I'm not quite sure about the nav controller yet
just preordered Move
hope that when i receive it games also be aviable
Move is a $50 investment for me...so yeah I'm sure I'll be too temped not to buy it. Especially knowing I'll be able to play MAG right away with it.
