So I went to Best Buy today in hopes of getting the MOVE early. No luck for me, but I was talking with the sales rep about picking it up on release day. He was trying to sell me on the starter pack & I was like, "Yeah, but I'll probably just get a couple controllers & SportsChampions."
And he says, "Yeah, the the Eye Toy is getting re-released with a new lens so it can see better in low light conditions."
Obviously he doesn't really know what he's talking about since he called it an 'eye toy' but are they making a better camera for the MOVE release? Would I be better off getting the 'new' one?

I say he is full of crap. Its the same camera released in 2007.

I've watched a couple of videos and they have mentioned an improved camera.
A couple of the unboxing ones and one of the SONY tech demos did, although i cant remember which one.
But SONY have comfirmed that move works with all the eye cameras that are already out, so if you have one then all you need is the move controller.
^Really? If that's true I should have just gotten the bundle and sold my old Eye online...buying the bundle is only $10 more than a controller and Sports Champs...

It pains me to hear fellow bestbuy employees not know their gaming department. what store did you go to?

so if its happening thats great and wont have to get the current ps eye

He was just trying to sell you the bundle pack. There's no change to the PSeye, Sony has been acknowledging, in reference to bundle packs, that some people already own a PSeye and that they won't have to buy another, I have never heard or read about any difference between a camera you may have bought with Eye of Judgment and a camera you might buy with Sports Champions.
