View Full Version : Whos Disappointed/Bored already?
Im thinking of taking back one controller and sports champ. Just buying mag and a nav controller me thinks...
Reasonss....
Wont need 2 for mag/socom and time crisis. (the only games ill prob get)
Sports champions need effort, iffy controls especially getting an arrow out -_-. And i only find table tennis entertaining.
Im not saying im bored of move itself, just sports champions and the other games to be released on release day. Pretty appalling tbh.

Yeh ive not even bothered with 1 game. Just got the 2 move controllers. Will get a nav controller if I need it. Been playing the games all day and to be quite fair, they are a joke. The demos will tide me over and hopefully it will make eyepet easier for my son. All in all it's a pretty poor launch
Should of been released in October or something, so they had chance to spend money on SOCOM coming out sooner and time crisis. Worst launch ever ?

09-17-2010, 18:10
Because they needed more games at launch like Sorcery or something big. Sports Champions is the only decent looking Move only game which is why I didn't bother.
Yeah and that ^ , Sport champions needs more work to be honest, feels like something they took around to developers to show them what you can do with it. The main menu with all the games showing is like...... ffs...
Are you guys playing it solo?

The only reason I ordered Move was because it was free with my PS3, wouldn't have bothered if I had to pay more than £10 for it. I've bought it for future investment (LBP2, SOCOM 4, Time Crisis...)

Yeh sports champions is blatantly tech demos that they have chucked on one disk. I pray Sony support move properly and don't just tack it onto games like killzone. I want good exclusive move games. The sports champion menu is nothing short of :O. It's shocking.
Hell I suppose I could have ended up with Kung Fu rider or racket sports lolol

I'm bored and disappointed too. I expected this to bring about the digital second coming of jesus. :/
I want a 2nd Move, but I know I don't need it for how I'm going to be using it. Right now I just have the one and a Nav. So I know what you mean there. But from my short experiences so far it's felt pretty good to me. Can't really play Sports yet.
Anyone having MASSIVE FRUSTRAIGHTION playing heavy rain demo ?!?!?! i swear my calibration on it is horrible, im sat down and calibrate it , then go to 'play demo' and the cursor just freaks out and i cant get it back

I have had zero boredom or any sort of control issues. Taking an arrow out is simple. Think like your doing the real thing. COntroller over your shoulder (like you have a itch to scratch and pull the trigger. Not once have I missed.
Every game is supper fun and you will need to play more then 2 or 3 bronze level games to get any challenge out of it. Even in the first 3 people I have played there skills have come up a little. Did I win 7-0? Sure did...but there are a number of Bronze matches and then all the silver and gold. Its only going to get tougher.
I can't see how someone can be that disappointed, but to each their own.
Thank goodness for this thread.
I have Move sitting in my Amazon shopping basket. It won't be for long. When there's better games for it, I'll happily jump on board.
Sadly, that doesn't seem like any time soon judging from the near future's software lineup.
Yeah my suggestion is just wait.

I'm sorry, but I love it. The thing you complained about in Archery, is genius, feels genuine to play. Really accurate. I recommend top of tv as well if standing, but if sitting at the bottom. Not bored at all!
i was thinking i will get it for christmas when it's cheaper, then i sort of wanted it day one but then i looked at the games (and now this thread) i'm back to christmas or even february with kz3. definitely a poor launch from sony

There are what? 4 people in this thread that are bored, and many many positive reviews in the other and because of THIS thread you have decided to cancel the order? That doesn't make any sense to me?
Edit: After reading other threads the 4 people in the thread complaining about this...1 doesn't even have the move, and another doesn't own any games on the move. How can one be bored of sports champions or other games that launched and complain about it when they don't even own it or have experienced anything beyond introductory demo play.

I agree with you, of course people are going to get bored of the demo. Its stupid to judge based just on the limited demo. Just keep it in your head that every opponent is different slightly, with different courses and styles for every type of sport in Sports Champions.
I have the full version and i think its a pile of ****. I never mentioned anything about sports champion demo.

That's probably because you've got yourself confused between whether you're making a statement or asking a question.
:p
In all seriousness though, I do see myself buying Move at some point but the software is holding me back at this time. The thread just brought the software issue back into my head when I was about to take the plunge. A moment of clarity, shall we say.
Like I've already mentioned earlier, I'll pick it up when the games to use it with are there.

Move your camera and recalibrate it...I mean on sports champions you calibrate it before every new event.
EDIT: @goo*
Do we really need to do the Grammar game? lol
And yes, if the software isnt your thing then thats fine, its just seemed silly to change your mind because of this thread when there is really only 1 or 2 guys worried about the full retail games boredom issues. If you never liked the games before you tried them, you will probably not like them now.
I don't doubt that people will get bored of the games, hell I have 60+ retail PS3 games and I am bored of most of those too, not to mention the 360 games I am also bored of. Over time, games get boring. The timing of your desire to give up on your purchase was just a bit off is all I was saying...many more positives out there so far then negatives. Like I said, at the time of your post there was only 1 guy that had boredom issues with the retail games he bought.
If Move really has the potential Sony has been demonstrating... just wait. Put the controller down for a while and once some more games release or get patched, pick it back up and enjoy. Don't ruin the experience for yourself.

Like I say though, I was sceptical of the release software early on and have just been getting reeled in by some of the hype. The thread didn't cause me to go from 100% adopter to 0%. Just reminded me of the reason I didn't already have it pre-ordered and that I want to wait until there's a better line-up than party style games. I still have every intention of being a Move adopter.
I've already got Heavy Rain, MAG and Hustle Kings (patched yet?) so there's some games I'm keen to play with Move but there's just not enough for me at this point.

Thats you opinion. Not the opinion supported by many, but still.. Mine is that it shows off what it can do realllllly well. For a half-arsed game, its better than Wii-Sports technically, which is all it needs to do really.
If Move really has the potential Sony has been demonstrating... just wait. Put the controller down for a while and once some more games release or get patched, pick it back up and enjoy. Don't ruin the experience for yourself.
Good point, as the whole point of the move is the option. You don't get that with the Wii. You can buy the wii, use it maybe once a month.. And still play proper games in between.
The bold part made me laugh.

The clues in the title of the product: Move. It makes it more interactive, the whole point of the concept!

Yeah that's fair enough. I will say this though, if you get a chance to play sports champions, dont just give up on it after the training rounds. I just had an epic volleyball match that actually had me fist pump at the end...who would of thunk it...I actually got a bit of sweating going on haha.

Yes, and I have nothing against your opinions of the game. The thread title how ever was who is disappointing/bored already...and you can't really be disappointed/bored if you have not actually played the full retail games and experienced them fully. Can you be not interested in them, yes, can you be unsure if its worth it, of course. But the reason I quoted *goo was cause he said "this thread" gave him reason to not buy move now. Which I simply said was silly when there is only 1 person who has played a couple of the games and didn't like it. I was trying to point out that there are many people happy with the product and the games so far. Even more so now...at this point, it seems the OP and maybe 2 others that are still the only really disappointed/bored people who has bought and spent time playing the Move.
I could understand an argument if the title was more like "Launch games don't interest me". I was simply pointing out to goo that he shouldn't react to a thread with minimal complaints
Your opinion is fine though, nothing wrong with not liking the selection...you just can't be bored of the games your playing when you have yet to play the game.
Anyway, wasn't calling out your opinion as much as I was saying don't base your opinion on peoples bored of games that have yet to play.

This. I got the starter pack two days ago. Couldn't find Sports Champions till today, that **** was sold out almost everywhere! Definitely had great time with it. Bought the navigation controller to be ready for future ;)
Move is amazingly accurate. No lag whatsoever. Never had any problems with it.
Only the ones who had already decided to hate it before they tried it, will get disappointed/bored so soon imo.

What ? troll? MAG has been out for like a year.
No problems on my behalf, I tried last night I even calibrated in the night were u could only see glowing ball. Now that I'm off work Im going to calibrate it better I went to the xmb setting there is an option to calibrate it about to do that and try out mag.
I don't really see what all the problems are, maybe the people complaining in real life just not as fluid with their body mechanics and are irritated because move captures and magnifies it to them.

You need to play with friends to get the full enjoyment. I think Sony done real well with there Move selection of games on release. They are mostly all party games to play with friends appealing to a new audience. The hardcore stuff will come but yer well done to Sony on there release games. Im certainly not bored in the slightest even playing alone, gets me lotsa practice to beat the boys/girls when they come over at weekends.

I have no problems with Sports champions, You do know you have to move the right hand controller PAST your left hand controller to nock the arrow in archery, right? I personally am really loving it. I even like Volleyball, which I didn't expect to like, and disc golf is a ton of fun and Gladiator Duel is a lot of fun with friends (they are all a lot more fun with friends). A friend of mine is borrowing Heavy Rain at the moment but I'm gonna get that back asap haha, and i think i might pick up RE5 gold if I can find it cheap, I also have Hustle Kings, The Fight comes out in October, Under Siege is coming out soon, and I MIGHT pick up Eyepet. How does the accuracy stack up to the Wiimote? All that and a bag of chips?
I think that's a safe assumption to make just from watching videos of others playing.
Im not bored or disappointed. I acctually find the sport game to be a bit of fun. Table tennis is pretty nice, frisbee to. Arrow game is ok, but not anything more than that. (Had trouble picking arrow at the start, you need to hold trigger down and move your.hand back, not press trigger as you arrive at your back.) Didnt find anyproblems with the controls.
Had some fun with the Demo on PSN where you build brick towers, dont remember the name.
Most game works smooth without good calibration, but on the shoot demo it was a hassel. Tried to calibrate many many times, but still did not get it right. I can see this becoming a problem with games that need accure colleration between hand and pointer. I felt that the aim where a bit lower or higher than what it should be in relation to the move unit.
Allso a bit crap with the need to constantly calibrate for every game, its quick, and obvious a must, but still a draw back.
Tiger woods 11 on the other hand is a joke, i just arrived from the golf cours as my sister came over, while we where ouside she tried to hit a golf ball with one of my clubs and missed every time, then inside we tried to play Tiger woods with the move. She shoots as good as me in the game... Hope the other golf game coming out soon is a better simulation.
Btw Bitter sweet was a great movie :D, remember i loved the start of that movie.

No. If you can play the demo then do. There is no real control over what you do. It's almost as if it's just gesture based. Terrible.

That's because you've spent a lot of money on something you can't really get the use out of yet. It's called buyers remorse. You should've just gotten the one Move controller and a game and bought the rest as you needed it.
I've had great fun with it today, loved Table tennis, Disc golf and Tumble. To my surprise the Gladiator type game was really good too, I'll be giving that another go tomorrow.

I been playing tumble too, i like that game. Its a $10 psn game, its creative, and different. Im into trophies so i think ima buy it and 100% it, feels likes im actually earning the trophies in tumble. Im not sure why these games got a 3.5 on ign honestly...

God I love the ping pong in this Sports Champions game!! I am beast!!!!!! I am on the silver cup and my record is 26-0. It definately gets harder on the silver cup since you have to move all around to hit the ball. The first cup is more like auto aiming for you.

The same for volleyball, I am nearly done silver, undefeated. The farther you get into the more things you learn. Like I just recently learned how to throw up a double block. A lot more reaction type plays and you have to be much more accurate with your bumps (direct it to your partner) and powerful with your sets. Its like I am really playing volleyball...without the bruises.

Well, my first hour with the game"sports champs" and 2 moves. I really enjoy playing.
One could wish for an online gaming experience for sport champs but as a release gimmick it works well!
I had no problems with the light, nor calibration. For those that are judging sports champs for demos, the real game is good.

ok i'm gonna make it fast and clear since i'm still playing Move right now...
I got Move bundle with another move and ''start the party'' and let me tell you Start the party is one of the best party games i've played, brought it to my brother's house and we had a friends over trying move and we had a total blast. The game is just FUN !
Sports champion is a light game, some stuff i dig some don't, table tennis is mad fun, gladiator is fun too and so is disc golf... they all work like a charm once you take the time to learn the tutorial.
I haven't played much of the demo disc yet expect time crisis and tiger woods... both totally fun but not much of a new experience compared to Wii.
Overall, i'm a very happy customer, the Move controller is very nice to hold, the tech with the PS eye is just crazy good and totally precise, real 1 on 1.
I can't wait to play Killzone 3 with it and honestly i want ''Start the party 2'' the game is a blast to play with friends.
Congrats to all !

I can imagine it is good, the type of game perfect for a party! Thats why I liked Buzz, that was quite fun! Might pick it up cheap around Christmas!

If you're referring to me I didn't buy it because the only game worth getting is Sports Champions (IN MY OPINION). I will buy it when Sorccery releases but right now theres not much FOR ME.
I would agree with this. I'm a bit of a Sony fanboy myself and always saw myself getting Move day 1 but when i actually thought about it i decided to wait until Sorcery or, most likely, Socom 4.
Hell, i'll probably get it for Christmas lol. Along with Sports Champions and probably Tumble.
Edit: I'll definitely have Move in time for KZ3 lol.

How do you know you played Sports Champions to long and put in lots of effort...by waking up with a stiff shoulder HAHA.
Me and my friends must have played for about 12 hours yesterday taking turns and had a blast. All of them own Wii's and we used to get together and do this once every couple weeks for the first few months after release. Slowly they all bought one and we would take turns to which house we would play.
Unfortunately we just stopped one day and nobody ever had the interest to do it again. We did twice for sports resorts but I think I was the only one who enjoyed the new offerings. However, last night, I said lets get together and give it a shot. It was amazing! The laughter and shouting was nothing like we experienced before. It was crazy fun.
We are getting together tonight to do it again, which I can honestly say is the first time our little group has ever done consecutive game nights like this.

I like it a lot, i just hope that devs really jump on board and give move options in their big titles.
I have become slightly obsessed with getting the calibration spot on. I dont think the calibration screens always make it easy. Sometimes you are asked to point at the screen, and sometimes at the camera, for instance. And in tennis, the positioning of the bat isnt always exactly the position of my hand, which seems odd.
As long as a steady stream of Move compatible games keeps coming, I think it could be great. I suspect we'll just get a ton of crappy Ubisoft Wii ports.

Yeh sports champions is blatantly tech demos that they have chucked on one disk.
Are you kidding? I don't get that impression at all. Only one I do is Beat Sketcher. I find there is a lot of depth in Sports Champion. Way you can twist your wrists to do spin shots etc. Very surprised by it.
Is Racket Sports not worth getting?
I'd avoid Racquet Sports Lethal. It's basically a HD version of the Wii game. I hear the motion controls are pretty bad. I'm looking forward to Game Party 4 later this year. I had a blast playing those on the Wii.

Since I'm getting a Slim for Christmas - Sainsburys have the 320GB + Move pack for just £240 so I'll be getting that. Doubt I'll buy any games for it though except maybe tumble off PSN but I'll wait for more games suited to my taste.

I tried RE5 with Move for abit today. It was wierd and unusual for me. I mean it was cool and all, but it is very sensitive haha. Its like that Anthony tech guy was saying, that perhaps they would need a dampner setting on it so that every lil tiny movement you do isn't registered to the minutest detail on screen. It was still really cool and I will get into it more on my next day of work. I also have Heavy Rain which I decided to hold off on until Move came out. Having said that, the PSU HR Move review wasn't eactly glowing haha.

Thanks for the advice. I just played the demo and I was not very happy with the response time. Sports Champions is nearly 1:1 and this Racquet Sports seems to have a little lag in the timing.
I hear Start The party & TV Superstars is rubbish, any truth to that?
One guy was saying he got himself a sore arm after playing the Table Tennis game from "smashing" the ball. Getting 64-65 speeds...

I have reached speeds over 60 and I will tell you that today my arms and back are a little sore. I am really enjoying Bocco now! Easily the best 2 player game in Sports Champions.

How many games are on Sports Champs?
Volleyball
Disc Golf
Gladiator
Bocco
Table Tennis
Archery
Each game has 3 cups to win and online leaderboards. There are 300+ unlockables and all have multiplayer modes. Fantastic game.
Well, I only have the demo of Start the Party, and it has the Picture This and Bug Bash games. My kids really liked them. Both are really simplistic, but they really like it. The TV Superstars demo was not very entertaining at all.
I'm personally loving it, but probably because I have my brothers to play it with.
Just re ordered it from shopto.net, realized it isnt that bad of a game, ill put some custom soundtrack on it so its more livelier
Is there any online mode on Sports Champion? [not online leaderboards]
If there is online, it would be fun x 100, even though these games are aimed at more family play.

You mean sports champions? It really is a lot of fun, and super challenging when you get to the higher up silver and then the gold level. In volleyball for example you have to be very accurate and speed becomes a factor with your setting and bumping or you give a lot of easy returns to the other team. I am very impressed with the enhanced difficulty of each game as you progress. It goes from "here try this its really easy, lets teach you how to play", to "here are some extra techniques, lets see if you can step it up", to "YOURE IN MY HOUSE NOW BABY!"

Yeah, me and my friend played it yesterday at his house. He originally got a Wii, but after 2 months or so, got bored and went back to PC gaming. Now he has a PS3 and PC, and I just took it over last night to show him. He was impressed by how easy it set up, really quick. We played Bocce and first, with one controller, which was ok. However.. Disc Golf!!!! Amazingly fun!!
Best bit, when it slows down when its nearly in, it seems to get slower if it is really close; It just missed the chains and clipped the edge of it. Brilliant. His dad asked him if he liked it and he just said its cheap, much better than the Wii, and just more fun because of how precise it is. Enjoyed it!
I think move is a blast, im having loads of fun... specially with my friends.
I do however agree that it is a very poor launch. There is practicly nothing to play... hopefully thatll change within the coming months,
Move future depends on it... if they dont step up with games then itll be a flop
It's kind of a mediocre launch, so it's a little disappointing that more games weren't ready, but what I've played so far isn't boring.

The lack of games is what's holding me off getting a Move.

the Move controllers are an excellent piece of kit but i cant say how the Navs work as they are yet to arrive so Resi 5 will have to wait until they do.
of the other games i own and have played so far, Tumble and Flight Control are excellent while Hustle Kings will take a little getting used to.
the demo's are a mixed bag with The Shoot, Start The Party and Beat Sketcher offering the most fun while Echochrome 2 was underwhelming.
Kung Fu Rider and Racket Sports were both quite dull and TV Superstars said i should stand about a metre away from the screen for best results, not a good sign at all for another poor game.

I've found Planet Minigolf from the PSN store a lot of fun with move, only 10 bucks, Hustle Kings is fun too (but it's fun without Move as well haha). I JUST bought RE5 Gold, a game that I HATED after trying the demo when it first came out, and now I find it great fun with Move, love getting headshots. So I have:
-Sports Champions (which I find to be pretty deep actually, there's the challenge modes, the multiplayer, the bronze, silver, and gold championship mode, all kinds of unlockables outfits, gear, trophies etc.)
-Resident Evil 5 Gold
-Hustle Kings
-Planet Minigolf
-Heavy Rain
And I'm looking forward to:
-MAG patch
-The Fight
-Tron Evolution (cautiously optimistic)
-Under Siege
-RUSE (gonna pick this one up eventually)
-Time Crisis Razing Storm (good arcadey fun as well as a ton of extras)
-Dead Space Extraction
-Oddworld Stranger's Wrath
-Heroes on the Move
-Dungeon Defenders
and of course
-Socom 4
-Killzone 3
-Sorcery
-Infamous 2
-Little Big Planet 2
-No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise
Between Sports Champions and Tumble I've played a ton of Move this weekend. Definitely not bored with it yet. I do hope I play some of the MAG beta with it soon...
