I was wondering what everyones favourite sports champions mini game was?:D

At the moment im really getting into the table tennis, its amazing that you can pull off all sorts of advanced shots just like in real life. If you dont get the angle of your shot correct then the ball will go off the table meaning you really do have to think about the shots you wanna attempt.

so guys whats ur faves and why??:D

They are all brilliant. I could only say my least favourite is probably Bocce:

Table Tennis: 10/10
Gladiator: 9/10
Bocce: 6/10
Disc Golf: 8/10
Beach Volleyball: 7/10
Archery: 9/10

Ive played around with the gladiator game for the last hour or so and found out that the more effort you put into hitting the opponent the damage it does. i only just found that out lol:D. Its also quite a deep game with many other controllers you have perform. I kind of wish it would have a combo count come up on the screen when you piece together a more than 2 moves, ala Tekken.
So if you hit someone real hard you get more points and it does more damage.just won the bronze cup without too much difficulty so hopefully it gets harder:D

volleyball is quite good as well but you don't manually move yourself around the court, the computer does it for you. I feel if they were to allow you to use the navi to more yourself around that would have been excellent,as it is all you do is the various shots in volleyball.

Bocce is okay;) but i just found it a bit dull and boring to be honest.so i doubt ill be playing that too much.
Archery was pretty cool but i'm going to wait until i get my 2nd controller until i dig into that further.

Gotta say, Disc Golf is pretty damn fun. It's challenging. I wish they would make a full fledged game out of it.

Table tennis on a 7/10, feel the table need to be wider and deeper. It makes me really look forward to a "real" tabel tennis game.
Volly ball is defenitly my least favorite, feels very restricted and just rushed, 3/10.

Volley Ball is my least favorite but you have to look at what it accomplishes. If this were on the Wii we would have problems with this game. The Wii would not clearly know if we are bumping, setting, or spiking. The PS Move understands my gestures every single time. I have yet to see my character set the ball when I am trying to bump. It is amazing how the PS Eye and Move can talk to each other with such precision.

Ping pong, frisbee gladiator. I'm a bit of a ping pong player in real life, and the game works just like it should. Also love frisbee golf. And who wouldn't love gladiator? by far the most intense mini game

Volleyball is completely gesture based. The game could easily be done on the Wii.

Favourite is Gladiator, luv it. Specially now that i got myself a second wand. Other than that its archery, ping pong and disc golf. Bocce i havent tried, and volleyball isnt fun unless ur with a friend, and evne then its mediocre at best. Hope theyll update the game with more uhm.. games..

I love table tennis. I could do it for hours non stop. Archery is my second favorite. My only complaint is that my arms get tired pretty fast with archery. But eh, still fun.

The Wii would not be able to tell the gesture you are doing and impliment that on screen perfectly everytime. Even with the motion plus the Wii is not that accurate.

You can fake the gesture, as long as the controller is in the right position, it'll work fine. The Wii version would rely more on where the ball is when the controller is moved. Different methods to do the same thing. Lethal, don't make me start making some videos to tear these notions apart lol. I'm loving the Wii. It's incredibly good at what it does, but let's not make it out to be something it's not. It's not the ALL king goodness of motions. In some games, it does stuff that the Wii wouldn't ever be able to do, while in other games it's just not. The Volleyball game is just a poor representation of the tech, that's all.

Volleyball is also very power orientated too. Meaning, if you push up to hard on your set the ball will go out way wide. This only happens in the later stages of Silver and Gold levels. I walked through the bronze and most of silver before I noticed I had to be very perciese on the amount of power I use when bumping and setting. Plus when you get against the harder computer you have to use more stratagy. You cant just pound the ball hard and hope they miss, you have to watch the defense, tip balls to the opposite corners rather then just spike it hard as you get blocked.

I am not entirely sure if the Wii could pull off the same sort of experience as this especially when power becomes an issue. Its not jsut a do the motion and it will work for you. If anyone is only on bronze then yes, you will feel that way and the Wii could do it. However, it does get harder the higher up you get and requires you to be more aware of your power. Plus, if you don't aim the bump towards your partner, you will just bump it over the net on the gold level, you actually have to turn a bit and bump it towards your partner or move your arms to the side as you bump. It requires more then just swinging your arms at the screen.

I played volleyball in university and I can say that this is the most fun I have had in a volleyball game since Super Spike V-ball for the NES. Would it have been better with nav controller, yes no doubt but I like how they implement the diving in the game and trust me if you are not at the gold level yet, you will have to react pretty quick and dive a lot.

.. and I disagreed that the game couldn't be done on the Wii. The accelerometers would be what decides power, so that would be fine. I'm dropping this because I don't want the thread to get completely derailed based on a vs argument. He made the comment, and I felt in necessary to point out that he's wrong. It's really not that important. The Wii could certainly tell if you were bumping, setting, or spiking based on the position of the ball when the controller was put into motion. That's all I was saying.

I find that the ones I disliked the most at first eventually grow on me. Volleyball was the bottom of my list, but if I play with my roommate it's fun as hell! I was turned off by the auto-movement at first, but someone put it in a way that made sense...even in real volleyball it's mostly about how you are hitting the ball, not whether you know to walk over to it. It's fun.

But hmm...gladiator is awesome but I think I'm still most addicted to disc golf.

yea im digging the volleyball too at the moment.the auto move annoyed me at first as well but i guess you may end up missing alot of shots if you weren't able to line up your character properly so it helps the computer doing it for you.im hoping in the silver/gold cup it gets more faster and competitive instead of the leisurely pace that is bronze cup.

one thing which does bother alittle is that the game is abit bland character wise and could do with more personality during the games to liven things up a bit.only a minor niggle tho.

Archery is my fav so far (with 2 moves). Volleyball is my least fav.

I'm having fun with table tennis, and gladiator duel (with 2 moves) too. I haven't tried any of the others yet.

Oh and a little off topic...the game "Tumble" is so awesome. Try it on the demo disc that came with the move bundle if you got one. And if you like it, you can download the full version from the PSstore. I'm about to try Toy Story 3 after I write this and see how that is.

I like all of them equally but since you want one I'd have to bocce or gladiator or table tennis, definately gladiator for two move controllers, table tennis is more energetic with one move, but bocce is tons of fun when drinking with friends

You can love the Wii....someone needs to. But you are sorely mistakin if you think the Wii has anything close to the PS Move. The Wii can not see gestures the way the PS Move does. Example? Basketball on Wii Sports Resort......Countless times the screen shows something completely different than what I am doing. It has a hard time knowing exactly when I am releasing the ball or whether or not I am picking up the ball. Love the Wii all you want but it is extremely flawed.

Did anybody have trouble calibrating Tiger Woods demo? Everything else worked for me after I calibrated it in the XMB - but that SOB won't, and golf is one of the things I really bought it for.

Did the learn how to play thing on all of them, but played an hour each on bocce ball and frisbee golf - both were really fun - drank a few beers while I was playing them and it made it more realisitc, ha, which made me think lawn games are really fun on it, croquett or something would be fun too I'd think.

Think i'll do a couple hours of ping pong as the spins seemed accurate
So far i'm glad I got it and the puzzle game demos are pretty fun too

Table tennis was definately the most impressive to me, it's almost scarily accurate. Bocce ball was relaxing and seemed like a good chill game to play with people while having some drinks. The gladiator game was fun but wore my arms out! I dug the archery too, took me a few tries to figure out the proper approach to it as my aim kept being funky with it not letting me aim high enough. I didn't really care for Volleyball at all, it was a little too "Wii-like" for me since you have no control over where your player goes.

Me and the wife are going to spend some time playing tomorrow night, I'll have a better idea of how we like it after that.

Definitely table tennis for me. I've played a fair bit of it in the past and the accuracy achieved by the move is great. Playing topspin, backhand and slice is just like the real thing. I honestly think someone who has never played table tennis could pick this up and actually learn from it before playing the real thing.

Gladiator seems to be pretty good too. I like the fact that the games have a pickup and play feel to them, like the wii, but they have a great level of depth meaning the more effort you put in the better you will get.

Yeah I don't think anyone seriously thinks its a 1 out of 10. I did find the way the controller is in my hand naturally the face of the paddle is the wrong way, but i just turned the controller 90 degrees in my hand it worked perfectly. No where near a 1 out of 10, especially if you play more then just the bronze level.

sure, practice may improve my game, but it will not improve the playability of the game and will not change how i feel about this iteration of table tennis. they should have went with tennis.

I want a full fledged good baseball game, or even like a sweet wiffle ball game where you could throw crazy cruves and risers.
