Nope. You're either misunderstanding or taking it out of context.
Your earlier comment was:
lol c'mon, games got nothing to do with that mate
Which is in defence of Skyrim not causing any issues. I'm putting it to you that there's a Bethesda forum that would disagree with you. You're also arguing on absolutes when it's not as cut and dry as that i.e. If I've personally not had any issues then there's no issue with the game, or why is it only some people; not everyone?
The PS3 is certainly not immune to ever having problems but that's my whole point. Neither is Skyrim. On balance, given the already widely publicised issues; there's a significant (read: most likely) chance the game is causing the issues. I'm happy for Bethesda to categorically state their game is perfect and it's everyone's console that's the issue. Don't hold your breath for it, though.

many people got the game and they have no issue with it , and yes i do own the game so i know if it got an issue or not
Bethesda offered help for "PS3" owners, PC and 360 don't have the same issues as the PS3 ones
also if some people got issues with the game then it's automatically "the game is broken"?
and if some people got issues with the ps3 version then "everyone" gotta have those issues too?..

I have over 60 hours into the game with a save just under 10mb and I have had little to zero issues. I have had one freeze, and have only experienced slow down on 2 occasions (very long play time).
What is strange, I own a 80gb with BC...we tried playing at my friends house the other day he has a slim and we had the game freeze twice within an hour just starting over the game. So I really think it has something to do with the system which really does not make sense.

same. i can return to skyrim on the 14th
Why is it just this game causing so many people issues? If it was the whole console most games if not all would be having this issue reported? The way the game saves to the system perhaps? It definitely has to do with the auto saves as far from what they have told us, that or it's how the game handles the ram..ie Flushing out the ram on information no longer needed.
Makes me think of the GTA:IV issue. Some systems would have major issues with it (my first console from launch) while others (the newer 40GB and later the slim) had zero, even without any introduction to patches. Sony, I believe, even came forward and said it's an issue with the PS3 itself and gave free fixes (a friend sent his in to them for repair and after it came back there were zero issues). Also if I remember correctly, people went all out blaming R* for giving people a terrible game because of that issue alone.
I haven't touched this game yet but next week I should be getting my hands on it, so hopefully all goes well then.

There aren't really any pressing issues with the game at this point. The patch dealt with the game breaking ones, as far as I can tell. Lag has not been entirely eradicated, but you should expect minor lag considering the vast amount of open world, and you also have to consider that this is a Bethesda game... If there wasn't any lag, we'd know something has gone horribly wrong at Bethesda Softworks. :snicker
I wouldn't worry ttech. The game isn't perfect, but you're not going to experience the kind of issues people were facing before the patch. Should be fine.
Well the latest patch on PC broke as much as it fixed (but not as much as 1.2 did) so I've had to revert back to 1.1 again. Sigh, I could really use the performance boost 1.3 supposedly gives to dual core cpu's as well

Just to be clear I was not stating that the other versions of the game would have issues as well, I meant that wouldn't other games be having similar issues?(On ps3) It's not just some people it's a lot of people...have you been on the forums over there? He was not saying that everyone has to have those issues, he was saying that just because your game works fine does not mean that everyone else's game is the same and may have issues.
I get some lag here and there, had a few freezes as well. About 10mb or so now. It could very well be the ps3, but than why are some people not getting any issues what so ever? While many are getting serious issues? Like they have said it seems to have something to do with the auto save function. It have already improved my game while turning saving off when resting and going into menu.

I was expecting Skyrim to get GOTY, however I would have to say that Mw3 is not the best shooter or even BF3, I would have chosen Kz3 or Gears3...have not even played gears and does not own a 360....
Skyrim really did deserve it, hell is IV got Goty..this one should considering the changes despite the issues that may cause the experience to be less than it really should.
Have to say that sneak attacks are epic and from what I only learned recently....shields do help you, perhaps more so than a firebolt spell. I pose a new topic of discussion! Whom is your favorite Deadric Prince? Mine is Sheogorath, for obvious reasons.

Anyone else getting a freezing problem (It happened twice in Whiterun after killing an Elder Dragon) and it's telling me to restore my PS3 since I didn't turn it off properly (I held down the reset button)
Yes since patch. Usually upon fast travelling or exiting a building. Sometimes sound loop stuck. Have to get up and hard reset console.
Way less frequent than FO3
Fergus2k8
12-11-2011, 16:45
Never had much issues with Fallout 3
It seems to happen in the exact spot, I travel to Whiterun, I kill the elder dragon, I loot it and wait until morning for shops to open and then it just freezes.

It has happened to me, yes. Not frequently though. Before the patch, I experienced frequent freezing. This was, of course, when my game save had amounted to about 14 MB. So it wasn't really a big surprise. Don't restore your PS3, though, unless you're willing to lose your game save. My friend ignorantly did it without asking me beforehand, so level 30 character was gone. Thankfully, I was done with that character for the most part.

The one thing I'm not enjoying about being a thief / stealth character is the fact that I can never really hold my own in battle. It's making a lot of quests much harder than they were the first time around on my warrior.

Sneak, Alchemy, and Archery Perks are your best friends.
Use Alchemy perks to make some really vicious poisons, and several Sneak perks give huge damage bonuses for sneak attacks. It's possible to take down a giant with a simple dagger, the right poison, and a backstab.
With a backstab and the Assassin's Blade perk, a "Legendary" Glass Dagger can do a massive 270 points of damage in a single strike, not counting added poisons, magic, or potions that increase the damage you do.
I don't use poisons. They only last one strike or one arrow right?
Completely Average
12-11-2011, 23:12
Yes, poisons only work on the first strike. However, they can do huge amounts of damage, which makes life a LOT easier for the lightly armed and armored theif.
If you're playing a pure theif/stealth, then quick kills are essential to your survival. You want one-hit kills, and poisons can help make that happen.

On a related note......
Potions can boost your Smithing and Enchanting, even if the skill is already at 100%. Potions like the Blacksmiths Draught and Enchanter's Philter will boost your Smithing and Enchanting abilities beyond what you can achieve with a 100 in those skills.
For example, I made a Daedric Armor last night with a 100 in Smithing. I then drank the Blacksmith's Draught and made an identical set of armor. Without the potion the Armor Rating was 146. After drinking the potion the one I created was a 158 Armor Rating.
And if you don't have a potion to boost your Enchanting or Smithing....
Fortify Enchanting
Blue Butterfly Wing
Hagraven Claw
Snowberries
Spriggan Sap
- - -
Fortify Smithing
Blisterwort
Glowing Mushroom
Sabre Cat Tooth
Spriggan Sap
Now I just need to get my Alchemy to 100 and find a few more Daedra Hearts. Spend my last 2 perks making my Alchemy potions stronger. I'm going to see just how powerful you can make armor and weapons.
After playing skyrim, i really do not see myself buying another 6 hour linear game that FORCES you to play the way the developers want. Sure its cinematic but i want a game i can play for longer than a week before i get really bored( games like COD, unchartedetc...)
Some of the side quests are more enjoyable than whole missions in other games IMO.
Even with its flaws( that people are experiencing) i still l think it deserves to be GOTY than any other game by a mile.

Every type of game has its advantages and drawbacks. E.g. you can't expect a game with the level of polish and character development/interaction of Uncharted to be as massive in content and length as an Elder Scrolls game. Yes it's sort of weird from our perspective that we pay the same amounts of money, but if you'd look at the man hours and budget necessary to develop them it makes sense.
If I play a game like Uncharted the story and characters have me gripped for a very long time after completion. You don't get that with Skyrim. But obviously what you get in return is a lot more time actually spent on the game itself. I wouldn't give up either type of game personally.
Though I have to say Skyrim is some achievement. The world itself is the star of the game, and you just want to get lost in it and stay in it for as long as possible. You sort of want to live there (despite it actually being a very cruel and uncomfortable world to live in :D), that's why all those mundane actions stay addictive. That's also why you'll never find yourself playing the game in short bursts, like you would with many other games. You'll think "oh I'll just play a quick fifteen minutes quest" and then spend 2 hours wandering about before even thinking about starting said quest.
Worthy GOTY, it's just one of the best games I've played. And err, whatever point I was making seem to have got lost along the way.

I know that feeling, I can one or two hit everything, I can easily kill an elder dragon.. but if an ancient dragon comes after me I got to either: A. Die, or B. Run like a son of a bitch, and damn do they follow you a long way. Had one chase me so long the only thing that made it stop was a few frost trolls.
Made getting all the thu'ums mighty difficult. :(

I can handle one if I have some health potions, but two, or three equals me being dead.
Yeah, they chase you for a loooong time, but transforming into a werewolf give me the speed to outrun it, and kill anything that gets in my way quickly.

I'd say assassin, but thats cause I've never been one for magic.
I saw a Giant kill a Blood Dragon yesterday, I just stood by and watched then swooped in for the soul and free bones :D. Then a little later at Winterhold College doing some quests I walked outside and another Blood Dragon just drop in the center on the college and started attacking me. I was like WTF?! DIE!
Honestly didnt think enjoy Skyrim this much, as I hate Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
Also I've gone for a hybrid character, Magic in left hand, 1 handed sword in the right.

Assassin is. I have both and I find sneaking stealth kills fun.
My full make is the arch mage of the mage college. She is quite powerful now. My thief/assassin is thief guild leader and is badass in the shadows. Then I made the stock Dovahkiin character (made him look like the promo guy) who will be my official dragon guy. My thief wants nothing to do with the dragons or the voice. My mage is semi interested, and Dovahkiin will become the mighty dragon slayer.
Got bored of my full Mage and after 40 hours I made a thief and I'm having way more fun.

lol, it does get very annoying when your trying to complete something and a dragon just won't leave ya alone. But thats the reason I've got so many souls.
just wait till you get attacked by two dragons at once. I've only had it happen once and it was absolutly intense. I normally don't have a follower, but i had lydia by complete chance. I would not have survived the battle if i didn't have her.

Yup. Been there. Accidently deleted my first warrior. Lvl 28. Good news is though, you can be more focused on what matters now. Plus I also found a bunch of cool new things second time round I missed the first. I'm just now starting a sneaky character so I don't know how long it takes to refine your character to what you want, but it doesn't take long with a warrior, maybe 15 hrs to craft exactly what you want

Just get the quest Aldins Bane, thought it was a good boss fight. He killed me a few times, best thing I could do was use a bow and summon some flame approches.
I use a bow when sneaking for far away targets, one dagger for that fancy killing cutsence and two daggers if attacked all out!
What do you guys have in your inventory's/Favorites anyway? I have just about one of everything, bow, two daggers, one hand sword.

Guys, remember to sync your trophies after every session of Skyrim. Let me explain:
Last week it froze on me so I was forced to hard reset the ps3. Upon restart it said that it must do the system check for errors (got that before - Skyrim related freezing). So I load up the game, finish a quest and I get the Side Ways trophy again . In confusion I check the trophy list: I'm back to 1% :pale.
I think the reset was related to the freeze and system check. Sucks man!
Quit the game, sync with server but last time I did that I was at 30%. :cuss2 I got some of them back quite fast upon counter update: locations discovered, level up at 54 gives you back the Master trophy, Skill 100 and so on; only the quest completion trophies are lost, gotta do them again but we're lucky beause me and my girlfriend done different quests so she'll to the ones I did and I'll do the ones she did.
We're back to 41% now...
But anyway... sync your trophies !!!
I really hope patch 1.04 (or 2.04 for UK) will fix the freezing man... because from bad (frame rate drops) we went to worse (freezing).
Enjoy Skyrim, I hope this won't happen to you and careful with those arrows now !!

Mine was freezing a lot a while back so i turned off autosaves and it hasn't freezed since. Thanks for the advice though.
Sorry I guess I didn't have the answer clear enough. I know the freezing isn't connected to SD/HD, just wondering if it's worth it to play the game even if it's on SD (which I've heard numerous people complain about the text being almost non-readable).
I'm likely going to be getting the game later today anyways, just wanted to know more of what to expect.
if it's anything like fallout 3 reading text in SD is going to a big problem...

Yea it's been interesting trying to read some of the words, I'm getting along decently fine so far though. Even with that issue it's been pretty enjoyable.

The answer to your question is:
You have to do 5 for jobs per town before the "special job" opens up that will get a town in your favor. There are 4 towns you have to do these missions for, THEN the guild is restored. Riften doesn't count as one of these towns by the way. If you don't want to do endless random missions, quit the job until they give you work in the town you need to unlock. :D

Answer:
it is a re-usable grand soul gem. So it is never destroyed after you use it, jut emptied. You have to refill it, but its useful for enchanting.
After the patch I noticed the dragons are now flying straight again!! I finally was able to kill the dragon at Bonestrewn Crest even though I had killed him several times already. He went down and I got the soul. Now onward to Potemas lair and this time with a hired gun. Incredible game overall. I also noticed that the patch fixed the magical resistances from equipped items etc. This time when I was being baked in fire from the dragon's breath my life was barely going down! Finally!! I'm satisfied. I'll be sinking some more time in later on this afternoon. Fun stuff. Hope others are seeing some improvements too.

I noticed with the most recent patch that there are some moments where the lag gets a bit bad, but it's wholly better than what it once was. Despite what some people might say, it's definitely not a game breaker. The game is still tons of fun regardless of said issues.

Hey guys I was wonder if i should download the new patch? (1.3) Does it fix the magic resistances?
My game file is around 9mb and about 90 hours in, only lag i get is when i play for too long, so i quit the game and give it five mins and it is ready to go again.
I just want to find out if i should stay at 1.2 where the games works most well, but no magika resistance? Or update and possibly get more problems and frustrations? Let me know what you think.
So after the 1.3 patch I immediately started having issues with freezing. Yesterday I started staying signed off and disabled the media server thing (thought it was previously off) and in the past two days haven't had any freezes (level 28 with a ~6mb save file).
I also finally got a hold of a HDTV and wow... so glad. Not only could I enjoy the good graphics but I could actually read things.

Forget having a job, or any life of any kind. Do you even have time to bathe?
Figure an hour per day for eating. 8 hours per day for sleep. 23 minutes per day using the restroom, and you would only have 4 hours a day where you were awake and not playing this game. Take a shower and it's down to just 3.5 hours per day. Clearly your parents don't mind you not going to school and not working while you live in their home. Obviously there are no girlfriends to worry about.
Or you're being somewhat untruthful about the amount of time you've played, by a huge amount.

The game is like crack. The game is a role players dream. What I love about this is that there are so many factions that you can actually become the boss or leader of, the homes are cool, you can get married and basically the game lets you create an amazing scenario of your choosing, and then get absorbed in it for hundreds of hours.

i just wish the marriage option was more robust. It'd would have been more fun to find a mate and have to woo them, not just ask them and they say yes. Plus can't really do much with him/her. Can't really do anything cept sell stuff or ask for a sammich. The game is very very absorbing though. Its wonderous to behold sometimes.

Agreed. This game gives players a lot of options not found in many other games, but it seems to only scratch the suface of many of those options. Like you said, getting married simply requires you to get an amulet, find someone eligable for marriage, and boom, you're married. It's a nice addition to the Elder Scrolls series, but I'd like to see it go more in depth. Let's see some real character developement, and perhaps let's have some NPC's be harder to marry than others. It'd also be nice if past actions influenced who you can and cannot marry. For instance, if you're a member of the Dark Brotherhood, perhaps the modest farmer from along the river won't be comfortable hooking up with a murderer.

Yeah, I'm a HUGE fan of Skyrim and the other Elder Scrolls.
I'm lvl 39, beaten the main quest, dark brotherhood, companions, mages guild at winter hold, and I'm almost done with restoring the thieves guild. I almost have all the achievements/trophies for the game... I have over 100,000 in gold, but I use cheats. With cheats I can duplicate apparel in which can grant me infinite money, so I went crazy. I use other cheats too, which all are on cheatcc.com
I stopped playing it a month ago since I don't really know what to do... I can't find anymore quests, plus I found pretty much every location so I don't know what else to explore. LOL

Oblivion wasn't this bad. It's actually got to the point where I couldn't be arsed to put it into the PS3. It freezes every 30 minutes or so with lag in between forcing me to reset my PS3 and having to restore the PS3
Oblivion remains the worst in the series for me. It may not have crashed as much (still rare for me) but it used to slow down massively and was just not an exciting place to explore.
Maybe one day I'll play just through the main quest but the horrid UI and levelling made me not want to continue past 10 hours.

It's the opposite for me. Morrowind is my least favorite Elder Scroll. Oblivion was much better and more fun, while Skyrim surpasses all of them. It should go from that order anyway, since Bethesda's games only improve.

Going through the main story again so that I can open up some other quests. To be honest, I'm really dreading going through the story a second time. I never felt that way with Oblivion, but meh, it's fine. Skyrim's story is certainly superior to Oblivion's.
I didn't hate Oblivion I just couldn't get into it. Morrowind had an atmosphere that I found really engrossing and Obl seemed plain in comparison.
I think it helped that Morrowind was really sort of alien in a sense and Obv was kinda normal in comparison. Not sure if that was a factor or not.

It was fun in the sense that it was the first game I could really openly explore and pretty much do whatever the hell I wanted, but my 11 year old self didn't have the attention span to follow a quest line. :snicker
I'd certainly suggest giving Oblivion another try. I really enjoyed the main quests, as well as all of the guild quests. Plenty of fun.

I do want to try it again as I love anything to do with the Daedra.
Yeah, one of the reasons I like Morrowind so much is because of its unique atmosphere.
Here are some screenshots of the game that I took the other day via Steam. My only complaint is that I can't play the game in a 1600x900 resolution.

You know, I'd really forgotten how massive Morrowind was. It's amazing that they were able to put that all together and make it work on last generation's consoles. The one thing I loved about Morrowind is when I would discover places like those in the picture you posted. In Skyrim, there never really seem to be an astonishing findings. Yeah, there will be a beautiful mountain or a beautiful river, but nothing as striking as some of the places you'll find east in Morrowind.
In future Elder Scrolls titles, I'd really love to see Bethesda try to shift away from the realism and go towards some more crazy, interesting structures and cities. Given they could make Morrowind years and years ago, it's hard to imagine how much farther they could go nowadays.
A remake of Morrowind, anyone?

Why does it have to be a remake? I'm pretty sure that development studios like Bethesda can recreate a similar alien atmosphere through a new Elder Scrolls title.
Bit of a noob here, only level 8 or 9
Is there any way to put items I want to use later, such as materials for crafting/enchanting, somewhere safe? I'd like to use the items eventually of course. Or should I just use the materials I have and just enchant my weapons and armor even though they're most likely replaced soon?
The reason I ask is because I always have about 200/305 whenever I step out of whiterun after selling crap in my inventory. It doesnt take me long at all to max out then I'm left picking and choosing what to keep and what to throw, in the middle of questing
Perhaps there is a way to increase my bag space? Or am I just playing the game wrong? o_o lol

Chests and barrels are generally safe, but it is not 100% safe if you store something in one outside of a house. You can dump points in stamina that will help increase your wgt. limit you can carry. Best bet, buy the house in whiterun, its pretty cheap, and store anything you want in the chest in the bedroom.

Going through the main story again so that I can open up some other quests. To be honest, I'm really dreading going through the story a second time. I never felt that way with Oblivion, but meh, it's fine. Skyrim's story is certainly superior to Oblivion's.
I've gone through the story twice, and am about half way through the third, with my wizard this time. :D
Finally got the golden touch achievement with my thief. Took me forever to get that much.

I don't doubt that. A remake would be pretty epic, nonetheless. I'd like to see a game take place in the Black Marsh, or perhaps Summerset Isles. Both places have potential for some really weird and interesting sights.
Be cool to see Morrowind again. I only just worked out its been destroyed. Read the book to where the House Telvanni wizards got destroyed by an Argonian uprising.
It's so engrossing if you've played the other games and can relate to the places.

Small update for Skyrim 1.4 patch
http://www.inentertainment.co.uk/20111224/small-update-for-skyrim-1-4-patch/
With Patch 1.3 for Skyrim almost two weeks old now we thought it was about time that we saw how Bethesda were progressing with the next one. We can now tell you that it will just be a small update for Skyrim 1.4 patch, but it’s about quality not quantity here. We should expect to see this go live in January, and from what we are told things are going very well indeed.
The developer had hoped to have the issue for the PS3 resolved by now, but we all know that this was not the case. Although we should give the team the benefit of the doubt here, it’s a little hard to be forgiving when you have put a lot of hours into a game that just acts a little like freeze frame on an old VHS.
Thankfully Bethesda have listened to the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim users and now know what they need to fix the problem, we just hope they can deliver, as things could turn ugly quick if not. However, they do say on their Forum that they have worked tireless on the framerate/lag issue and now say that they have a fix for it – so they must now be in the testing stage.
We cannot help but feel a little upset over this, as many fans of the series have received Skyrim as a gift for Christmas, but now face a dilemma, do they install the game and learn to live with the issue for a few weeks, or should they just wait and enjoy the game knowing that the they will not run into the same problem as many of you have?
There will also be a few updates to other version of Skyrim, but it looks as though the PC will get the best of these, such as the integration of the Creation Kit and Steam Workshop

Nice man, nice. How much time have you vested into the game? Given you're such a high level, I presume you've done tons and tons of quests. Mind listing some of your most memorable / favorites? I'm always looking for some new quest lines.
As for the patch, this is good news. I'm forgiving of Bethesda, whether I should be or not. They're created a fantastic game, and have done so in the past with the likes of Morrowind, Fallout, Oblivion, and more. It's hard for me to criticize a developer that has given me hours upon hours of enjoyment. It'll be nice to see some of the issues the PS3 version has, but frankly, I don't see the issues as game breaking.

I think so. I know that Argonians went north from the Black Marsh and invaded Morrowind at some point. Not sure if that's what the "destruction" of Morrowind refers to.

Yeah, they invaded the mainland of Morrowind. But it sounds like it was the Baar Dau that was hovering over the city of Vivic, the largest city in Vvardenfell -- which is where Morrowind takes place -- that fell down and completely destroyed the city. This, in turn, lead to a ton of tsunamis and the eruption of the Red Mountain destroying the land.

Good to hear that. I haven't had the extent of the problems others have had but I do get a little lag and am finally getting over 7MB save file (level 39 right now).
I'm not sure what to do right now though, I finally got something other than an SDTV so I really want to start over with a new player so I can fully experience the game. I couldn't read most text and when creating my character couldn't really make out the features but it turns out he looks decent, thankfully. I also want to restart so that I can pick my skills/perks better than the first time around, also so the dragons I kill from the start I don't take and then sell the bones/scales like a dummy. Maybe I can do the save/load technique on my home to get it to have an unglitched weapons holder.

I've said it several times, and I'll say it again. The glitches the game had could be, at one point, considered game breaking. After the first patch though, the game breaking glitches were dealt with. Is the game glitchy? Yeah, but no more than you'd expect from a Bethesda title. It's on par with the glitchiness of Oblivion and Fallout 3.

It really is. I didn't think so when I first started playing it, but once I was able to do some more exploration, see some streams, etc., I fell in love with the visuals. Bethesda definitely did a great job in making Skyrim look astonishing.

I'm at lvl 32, 75 hrs in, and I just got that trophy. Sell gems, potions (except healing), soul gems, magical weapons, magical armor, and everything else you don't need. I alternated between the merchants in Whiterun (armor merchant at entrance, and two merchants in market area), and Riften (3 merchants in market area only) when selling my loot.
My biggest complaint about the game, is that merchants don't have very much gold. Takes me at least half an hour each time to sell all my loot, that I got from dungeons, having to travel constantly between Whiterun and Riften.
Now I'm loaded, I might get some more houses.

If it's money you're after smithing is the answer. I always have a pick axe in my inventory and am always on the lookout for ore. Iron ore is particularly interesting as you can transmute it to silver and then gold ore (buying iron ore at 5 a piece and then transmuting it is nice as well). You can then use the gold ore to create gold ingots and smith gold jewelry. If you don't sell your gems you can also use these to create very high value jewelry (some gems go with silver, others with gold). In fact I'd say NEVER sell your gems, just try to use them in jewelry. You could go a step further and put some enchantments on the jewelry to increase their value. Then just visit a few merchants to sell the stuff. You can sell jewelry to general goods stores (Whiterun, Riverwood, etc), or Madesi in Riften or to court wizards if they're enchanted. Plenty others too probably, but I've only been in a few holds so far.
A run through Dwemer ruins can be very beneficial as well. Just collect ALL the dwemer stuff you can smelt into dwarven ingots (look up which ones work). You'll definately need to go back and forth a few times. I managed close to 100 dwarven ingots in one Dwemer ruin. Then smith dwarven gear and upgrade it as much as possible. Of course the higher your smithing (and the more perks), the more you can upgrade. If your smithing is low, just collect loads of leather and spam leather gear, the level increase doesn't depend on the quality of the item. With my smithing in the 70's I could upgrade a dwarven armor to Epic with a single ingot. That'll fetch a neat price. Again, enchant away as well.
That way I've managed close to 80,000 now and the rate at which I'm making money is even increasing still. It's also a great way to increase a lot of skills like Smithing, Alteration (by transmuting the ore), Enchanting if you use it and Speech by selling a lot of stuff. I'm not even hindered by the merchants' gold caps, other merchants are just a fast travel click away and they seem to replenish their gold very quickly. The entire process is slightly time consuming but I'm still having a lot of fun along the way. It's part of the game really and can be hugely rewarding.

Don't worry about the money. Just loot everything that attacks you, and check all the drawers, cupboards, etc. Plus, make sure to clean sweep all the caves, dungeons, ruins, etc. IMO, some of these locations can give 5000+ gold in just one run.
Also, stop purchasing things from stores. You'll find everything you need and more in the great open. Plus if you need armor, just work on that smithing skill (bringing it to 100), and create daedric armour yourself. Much more easier, and the armour rating goes through the sky if you have such a high smithing skill level. My armour rating at the end of my game was 747, and my weapon ration was 198 IIRC.

1: make a lot of daggers
2: find an enchanted weapon that you wont use( the better the enchantment the more its worth, try to get one that does a lot of damage to stamina, magicka or health)
3: find A LOT of gen stones
4: unchant that one weapons and use that enchantment on the daggers you made( make a lot, as many as you can)
5: sell them
6: profit

For whatever reason, I have really neglected ruins and caves in Skyrim. I suppose I was this way in Oblivion, too. I had come to find that so many caves, dungeons, and ruins were practically identical that they weren't worth exploring, as I found it to be quite boring and time consuming. This has been addressed in Skyrim, though, so it's about time I put aside that silly notion and start really exploring again. Will not only be plenty of fun, I'm sure, but as you've all pointed out I can get quite a bit of gold, ingots, and so on that can really assist me in increasing my amount of gold.

I got it at Christmas and only have the occasional framerate drop for a second or two. Playing on average 5 hours a night (so only about 45 hours to date) with a game save size of about 7. I turned off all quick saves apart from 10 mins on the user menu and so far things are running ok. Loving this game so far and Batman AC hasn't had a look in yet and I just about remember what BF3 and Dark Souls are and I was hammering them prior to Christmas.
I'm really tempted to buy this game but not sure about those supposed frame rate problems the PS3 version has. Are the problems really that bad and were they patched yet?
i am going to give this game another go and update i9t like hell to fix all if many of the bugs and glitches. As we always say, every game is not perfect

The game is fine. I have a theif with a 13 MB save file. supposedly after like 7 it is supposed to be unplayable. i think it was just sensationalized how widespread it was. game is a ton of fun, you love it.
On an unrelated note: i love the daedric quests in this game. In oblivion, you always had to go to some statue in the wild. In this game, they start just like every quest, just in the game, half way through, your in a daedric quest, and its just awesome.

I've only got 2 Daedric articacts so far and the second mission that gave me one of these started out as what seemed like a bit of fun side mission, but turned out to be quite unexpected.

I just beat the main quest over the holidays and have to say it was good, however the quests for the war was not as good as I thought...basically just go and take this fort and nothing else.
I look forward to playing the companions questline, and a few other ones like Azua's shine thing.

So what your saying is that just because your "buddy" is having worst issues than say you means that it's instantly worst on 360? Even though it appears that way more people on the offical forums are complaing about issues on Ps3? Not to say that 360 does not have it's share of issues or anything, I have only had minor issues on ps3 myself apart from unbearable lag at times and freezes on loading....It's improved greatly after the new patch however!
Edit: http://forums.bethsoft.com/forum/179-skyrim-hardware-and-software-issues-subforums/
Look at the number of threads and replies on the right for each console! Granted most of the posts could be by the same person for the same issue or general questions like not being able to find this item etc... I know this won't hold up what so ever, as it's not exactly accurate numbers.

People should never stop complaining if a product they purchased doesn't work properly. Until it's fixed or refunded. That's regardless of what they've purchased.
Is that "minecraft sword" a glitch?

No glitch could ever be so badass.
Its a mod.
It's odd that some people are still experiencing game breaking glitches and bugs. The first patch essentially dealt with all of those issues for me, and all of my friends who purchased a copy.
Weird thing, with my first player I rarely ever had lag issues. Now on my second player it gets pretty bad at times, worse than my old computer did trying to run the ENB graphics mod with GTA:IV (man I wish I still had that for this game...).

Ha, I definitely had a feeling something like that would happen with that quest.
Happens to a friend of mine. He got the game as a gift at Christmas and has hardly played as he says it lags/freezes within 30 mins play. Worst I've heard it being.
Obligatory TapaTalk signature.
Wanted to give an update on the above. I advised my friend to delete any old saves for games he wouldn't play again.
Previously, he had played Fallout 3 and experienced severe slowdown / lockups towards the end of the game. He deleted all of these saves and some others. Once Skyrim was put back in, he was able to play for well over 2 hours without an issue.

I heard the save file can get corrupted, and so it's a good ideal to save each day you play, in a new created save file, and just delete the others over time.
I yet to have any real problems, and my save file is 11 MB now.
Damn, this thread's finally dying down. xD
I got this game a few days ago and it's really confusing on where to go for me a lot of times. Only level 5 so far but it's a really awesome game.

If you pause, the first thing up is the quest screen. Its alot easier if you mark specific quests and the arrows will help you navigate to your objective. Skyrim can be overwhelming if your not used to open world games like it. Just avoid the far west section of the map for now. the place is called "The Reach" its really mountanous and has just stupid valleys and cliffs and sheer drops. If your not used to navigating the area, it can be a bitch at first. the starting area, White Run is like a plains area, so its pretty striaght forward. Just keep chuggin and before you know it, you'll be navigating like a pro. Staying on the roads at first helps, but not necessary all the time if you know where to go.
Huge thing today! Finally got my main character to level 50. Woot woot. Took way longer than I expected but totally worth the effort. Just need to return the thieves guild to glory and I'll platinum this mofo.

That's good to hear. I'm about 25 hours in and noticed it a couple of times recently. Not much of a problem, but I hope it's fixed before it becomes a big deal for me. On another note, I lost my first companion today. Even though I didn't like her very much I felt like an ass.

Good news^^
I haven't gotten a chance to play my game in a few weeks because it's become so bad...
All I want is to get my last trophy from the thieves guild but I can't even get from one end of Riften to the other before it becomes 2fps.

Thats totally badass!
I found the Notched pickaxe and was a little bit disappointed that it wasn't a minecraft pickaxe...
This is why I first wanted to play this on the PC, so that I can mod some stuff. But I didn't have the hardware so PS3 it is.
By the way, today I played a little and noticed that my mana didn't drain. I can use whatever magic I've got constantly and the mana is on 100%. Anyone had this bug? I've restarted the game and it's still there so I guess I'm stuck with it. Quite useful but it's still not supposed to happen, i think.

I have not had that bug, but good luck. It will makeit too easyIMO, but not much you can do about it now i guess.
This just reminded me, i have a system for near unlimited sprint. You need an amulet of Talos and the Etheral shout. Basically your stamina doesn't drain while Etheral so do the basic shout (1 word) and sprint. THe amulet of talos will make you recarge shouts faster so you can continually use it. even sprinting in between means you can sprint for long time. Pretty handy if your too cheap to get a horse or if your in a place where you can't use a horse like Blackreach.

That might be useful hehe. Now for unlimited health regeneration and we're all set. ;)
But I hope that the next patch will fix this mana-thing. Because it really is annoyingly easy.

My urge to play Skyrim is starting to diminish, after hundreds of hours played.
My experience with the game has been nearly glitch free, except for a few very slight ones that were easy enough to overcome.
