yourpsp.com is giving away free demos etc. but only for a limited time
Fancy a free demo of LocoRoco? Or how about bagging an exclusive remix of Fat Boy Slim's latest track, all for absolutely nothing? Head on over to YourPSP.com and, for a limited time, the shelves of Sony's virtual store are ripe for the picking, with game demos, videos, music and pictures all available without forking out a penny.
The store, which is hidden under the site's PSP Downloads menu, is accessible directly via your handheld's wi-fi connection or by visiting the site on a PC. Interestingly, content cannot be saved onto hard drive - only the PSP's memory stick by connecting it to a computer via the USB cable.
Download highlights include previously available playable demos of World Tour Soccer 2 and the aforementioned LocoRoco, as well as an extra two levels for Lemmings and new weapons and magic items for Key of Heaven. A new videos section features trailers for each of the forthcoming Passport To… city guides, including London, Barcelona and Paris, plus there are over 30 music tracks to throw some dastardly shapes to, from classic game themes to a load of other songs by artists we've never heard of.
Although every download is free, for the time being at least, freeloaders will need to register their details before they can access the good stuff. And while the range of demos and extras is limited to a few titles at the moment, additions are expected in the coming weeks and months.
Interestingly, the launch of a download store on YourPSP.com seemingly conflicts with Sony's attempt to drive digital downloads via it's own iTunes style service, Sony Connect.
There's no word from Sony as to when the site will switch to pay-per-download but we'll be sure to give you the heads-up when it does. In the meantime, leech away.
