For a while I have been searching for a good laptop. I reliase that The PS3 is about the price of an OK Laptop. I wonder with a bit of extra money which one will be more beneficial to a 9th grader going to highschool. I want a HP DT500 with a Core duo proccesor. I would use both of the iteams regularly but, I need your opinion. So please help me out.

Um...they're not even remotely the same thing and both serve a very different purpose. If you want something for school, get a laptop.

Laptop. More functionality for a person in your position. Though, I wouldn't go with an HP. You might want to look at Dell, Sony Viao, or Toshiba.

I didn't say they were the same thing, I said I would use them the same amount of time each day. I would bring my laptop evrywhere though.

Just get both and use the laptop for your school work. And don't get an HP.

This is the wierdest poll I have seen...

If you like games get a ps3...if you like school and computers get a laptop.
What more is there to ask? :suspect:

The new Intel Mac laptops run for about 1,000 dollars or more. He doesn't have that kind of money.

I do if I save just not at this moment. Acutally firefox It is a poll to see what I would benefit from most. (I don't mean to be rude)

I'm getting a ps3 and I am currently saving up for a laptop(might get one Dec-feb),but if given the choice to only take one,I would take the ps3 simply because it's a gaming console, part computer, and has many features that a laptop has.
Also sorry I havn't been as active the last few days,I have had school and basketball(in fact I have practice in 2 hours >.< )

Personally, I didn't need a laptop when I was in 9th grade....but I don't know how much things have changed since then.

I doubt they require a laptop at LHS, but it would definetely help with school I'm sure. Do you already have a home computer and such? How much would it benefit you? These are what you should ask yourself.

Personally, school is always first in my opinion. But that is my opinion. (Even though it should be everyones. ha)

And if you decide not to, I can get you into the school computers here at Lehigh. lol (jk)

But yeah, make sure you are set up well for school before gaming. If that means you need a laptop, then so be it.

Didn't you know, the PS3 has a Word Processor now  .

Actually, this could be possible, but it depends on how complex the PS3's Linux OS is. If it's a full PC-style OS, then you could probably do that.

@ FT05: A laptop would be the best choice though, because it'll be able to do all the things you need for school that the PS3 might be able to do (and more), plus it's portable.

Why... why would you need a laptop in grade 9? I'm going on to grade 12 and a handy notebook works fine for me...

If you are going to COllege/University, then a Laptop is a wise investment, but you barely need a laptop in grade 9.

let me see... you do... you do math (you have to have Equation editor for WORD to type equations, which is a hassle), English (You are not writing anything, just doing a load of work sheets that the teacher blindly hands out), you are doing gym (do I need to say more?), you are doing art (don't get paint over your laptop, that could be bad), you are doing history (pffft, as if you will do work on a laptop in history.)... you get my drift?

You should just stop fooling yourself and submit your entire being to your new god... PS3.
