Here’s a quickie but a goodie.
Big news on the Call of Duty front today; Activision’s sent over a set of dog tags (below) with a link to the website findmakarov.com. The bloody tags also included the message “end the war” along with the details of Sheperd, one of the villains from 2009′s Modern Warfare 2.
What’s on the web you ask? A countdown, currently sitting at just under 5 days. A quick flash of the Modern Warfare 2 villain appears when you load up the page. You may well remember that Makarov made it all the way through the last game. Guess that’s a Modern Warfare 3 reveal next week then.

I don't think it's necessarily going to be MW3 (though honestly, I personally think it will be) but they'd better change more than just the story and the maps for me to get it this year. Call of Duty has run it's course for me, so unless they introduce something new and fresh, this won't be a must-buy for me. Crysis 2 will be much more appealing.

Unfortunately im not looking foward to another COD. The new Elder Scrolls Skyrim and Uncharted 3 has my attention.

KZ3, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, Socom 4, Brink, MW3.... this will be an awesome year for FPS fans.
Not to mention all the other great games being released this year, personally I can't wait for Uncharted 3 (my most anticipated game this year), Infamous 2 and LA Noire.
TBH i dont expect any real changes, just the usual ( new guns that feel exactly like the ones taken out, new story and maybe new kilstreaks/perks)

I cant wait to see how they make it better, I would like them to take away last stand, more interaction with the online maps, more prestiges and more guns.

I have a real gut feeling they are going to go with a real 'less is more' feel with this CoD. Quality > Quantity will do me fine.

I seriously can't wait for the next CoD. Already getting tired with Black Ops.. but at the end of the day, there's no other FPS that plays as good as Call of Duty online.

I really want the Future Warfare rumour to be true tbh..I think future weapons with the gameplay of COD would be pretty cool.

Black ops has ruined cod for me. I had such high hopes for it, but the sound and graphics were really sub par. The only reason I play it now is the wager matches.
I think I'll give this game a chance though, as MW2's graphics and 5.1 sound were great, so hopefully this game will be the same.

When asked if Activision is planning to reveal any games on Wednesday morning, the spokesperson said, “Nope.”

that site find makarov doesn't technically 'reveal' anything so it wouldnt surprise me if there is a reveal when the timer runs out. i seem to remember modern warfare 2 had mysterious videos like this
its even changed in colour now it looks like a picture of price in the background
if it was a complete hoax then activision would likely sue for copyright infringement

It's a pretty elaborate hoax if it is just a load of BS.
The timer has changed now to red and a radar which is picking up multiple tangos.

Who cares it wont come any quicker. CoD died when they bought MW2 out, to many squeaky kids running around on it. Its like being at a first school at lunch time in the playground but with Lag. I'll be spending my cash on Battlefield 3, Cod really needs to improve and shift away from its current state for me to have any interest in it what so ever. I thought at first BO's was a step in the right direction but i was wrong.

When was the last time a lot of y'all hating on mw2 played the game? Yes it had its many glitches, but I play it almost everyday and the glitches are very minimal these days.
I play it on the ps3, and I don't hear much squeaky kids on it, and even if you do, so what?
I returned Black Ops after a week. From the moment I popped in the disk and started on the Multiplayer... I knew right away BO'ps wasn't an improvement over mw2. Lazy effort by Treyarch.
I cannot wait to see what sledgehammer and the new Infinity ward does with this game. I'm still a COD fan and I'm always willing to give any new installment a chance.

it's an inspire call of duty movie, made by some people in canada. if you change the clock on your computer to the 3rd you will see a picture of captain price sliding his gun over to soap.
I'll make sure not to buy it. I'll be busy playing KZ3, like all good ps3 owners should

don't really care about this whole mw3 thing, because I'll be spending my money on skyrim and bf3
I'm done with CoD. CoD MW3 could be the best damn FPS game EVER,, I will still pick Battlefield 3 and Resistance 3 over it.
Well we find out what the countdown was all about today. 6 hours to go. I'm not holding my breath but we will see. It will either be a CoD game or a giant picture of trollface.

Meh.......i dont really care,theyre all similar,anyway KZ3,battlefield 3 and resistance 3 sure won over cod franchise for me......who likes modern warfare or black ops will buy it.......i dont care so i won't buy it.......and soon coming brink and homefront,two more reasons to not care!

It's an unofficial fan film created by a Toronto based viral marketing company called We Can Pretend. Joystiq reported on it today. Apparently, they did it as an example of how CoD could be translated into a film franchise. It has nothing to do with MW3, and Activision have refused to comment on it beyond the statement they gave earlier in the week (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/25/modern-warfare-3/).
