It's still not clear to me how Sony sees the Suite and its roadmap.
Clearly, Sony intends the Suite to be the smartphone game portal for casual games. But what will happen say 4 years down the road when Smartphones and Tablets are more powerful than the NGP. Will there be hardcore games on it as well? Let's say Uncharted, will it be available on the PS Suite 4 years later? The only reason I can think Sony will not do it, is the same reason they keep their exclusive to the PS3. So what about those third party hardcore titles that will be released on the NGP, will it be available under the PS Suite when smartphones become a lot more powerful than the NGP?
I know that for NGP, developers can develop their games to the metal, so with a comparable specs to a phone, NGP still has an edge. Perhaps phones need to be 4-5 times more powerful than the NGP device in order for it to pull off the same quality the NGP can. But that will surely happen eventually, I give it 3-4 years. And when that happens, are we going to see Need for Speed or Assassin's Creed on the PS Suite?
Or will there be two version of the games, one developed for the NGP specifically, and another for the PS Suite?
Right now, I'm thinking that would be the case. The NGP game = $39 , while the PSS game = $10. The NGP advantage will be more content and better controls.
------
On another note, I hope Sony will release Playstation Suite with stellar titles at launch and not just PSone titles. LOCOROCO, PATAPON, and ECHOCHROME would be great titles for the Suite. It's very suited for smartphone or tablet touchscreen and motion control scheme. Personally, Angry Birds is nowhere as enjoyable as those three games I mentioned above. Giving smartphone and tablet owners access to these kinds of creative games will make Sony games a lot more popular. These are casual games at its best.
