I'm not a huge fan of the series, so this doesn't come across as horrible news for me. I'm all for delays if it will mean a better game, but too long of a delay will turn some gamers away from the game altogether, and at some point sets the game up for more failure. What do I mean? Well, say a developer starts making a game in 2008. They delay and delay and delay, and as they delay bigger and better technology is being released. The developers, already being well into their development, are stuck using the outdated technology. Therefore, when the game releases, it doesn't look too great.

Thankfully this doesn't seem to be the case for this title, and I do plan to check it out when it releases. Played a bit of the first FEAR game a few years ago.

ie Haze. That would have been a decent game if not for the hype and constant delays.

I really liked fear and fear2, so hopefully this will be just as fun
