View Full Version : Games - Digital or Boxed Version as well?
Hi
Is there any info about NGP?
I mean will they do the same thing they did with PSP Go? - only Digital
or there will be boxed versions of games as well?:)
Thanks
As far as I'm aware it will be both. The retail copies will be on proprietary storage.
So glad they are doing both, NPG games will be on a little card. They need to make it mandatory that all games come on both tho not half assed like it is now.
Likely going to be the opposite of the PSP's current situation, where there will be more games as digital only vs dual release.

I want games to launch like some movies that give you a chance to download the flick in digital format for your PC. Maybe it could be a one-time only code.

If Sony learned anything this generation concerning handhelds, it's that the NGP shouldn't be just like the PSP go.

I love boxed games, I hate digital. I love caressing my boxes, sniffing the fresh new scent when I open a brand new games, looking at a manual with my hands, not on a computer screen or a screen. I just love the original copy, and not the original digital copy..**** that. Common, anyone with me?! The only thing I like in digital, is film, shooting a film in digital costs less time and money.

I prefer boxes over digital files.
A box is a thing with which u can interact and use.

It's just that feeling of holding it in your hands that never gets old. That's why digital copies will never truly replace physical ones.

exactly but theres also nothing like having multiple games with you at all times. I hope if you buy the boxed game it comes with a digital as well like movies

Pretty much this. Because you will have the regaular full priced titles on the PSN and as a physical medium. But there will also be tonnes of PSN games and minis and the like which will be on the store only

Not forgetting the PlayStation Suite games.

I like my games on disk/Blu-Ray, downloading full games from the PSN just takes all my memory away. So yeah memory space is my only problem with downloading games to my system.

This topic is in relation to the NGP/PSP's successor, not PS3.

You can only get so much interactivity out of a box though. You can open it and close it and maybe use it as a door stop or a paperweight.
