Could someone explain the rule on advertising for me? I'm not sure I understand it. I mean, I'm kinda scared to post links to information now. I clicked on "The Rules" link in one of the sticky threads, but it wouldn't let me see it.

I always assumed as long as it's not for personal forums and you're not posting it in every post/making loads of threads about it,it's fine. If it's for a personal site, it's fine as long as it has no Ads on it.

I think that if you write your own blog you can link to it but you have to make sure it starts a discussion. you cant just post your blog link. has to be a specific story/entry and you have to talk about it in the op. if its a legit story then there's no real difference between your blog and n4g or ign etc.
but you cant leave a vm or pm, like hey go check out this site its awesome.
14. No Advertising Other Sites - This will be dealt with strictly. Posting links to a website with the aim of increasing its traffic is an infractable offense. Linking to personal websites that will make monetary gains from the clicks are also banned.
That's pretty self explanatory.

But can you tell me which sticky thread you the found the original link in please? I'd like to change the link so it directs people to the newer rules and not the old deleted ones lol.
