Wow super cheap compared to the others, Vita should easily do 100+ million that the PSP failed to achieve.

That's really not THAT cheap. Compared to the PS3, yeah, but wasn't the Wii's devkit and the DS's kit under 2000 dollars US (or was that low Wii price only for WiiWare games?) The 3DS is really the oddball in that bunch.

As for non-gaming apps, hopefully someone, someday has the compassion to port Anki to the Vita. I'd love to not have to take my Laptop with me everywhere just so I can study. And don't give me that "AnkiWeb" crap. I won't have internet access everywhere I go.

Considering the PSP was €15,000 - thats insanely cheap.

What I"m saying is that Nintendo established a standard with their 2000 dollar Dev kits on Wii and 3ds, so Sony realized they needed to drop the price. Then Nintendo got arrogant and charged more on...

I think one of the rationale (amongst many others) for Sony to lower the Vita development kit prices is because iOS has reduced a lot of the barriers to entry in terms of making video-games. It is encouraging a lot of indie/garage developers to jump on board iOS and Sony want some of that for themselves.

Your business model shouldn't be about making money off your dev kits. It should be making money off your games.
I'd love to see the PS Vita hit 100+million units xD It's of the a bloody good start.

I think that's what most people are not understanding right now they are saying that Vita isn't going to make it because of iOS & Android gaming but they fail to see that Sony is going with the flow with Vita / Minis / PlayStation Suite.

and out of the gate they get the motiony-touchy controls plus buttons. I really hope it succeeds; we should get some damn good games if it all works both full scale uncharted type and little puzzlers and what not.

Yes it is the variety of games that could appear on Vita that is quickly becoming a tantalizing prospect.
