It doesn't appear the Famitsu reveals(at least the first week) is apart of the 18 unannounced Vita games.

Damn, killer launch for Vita then.
There are a few notable omissions in the list announced so far, which makes me think that not all of those will be actually games we don't know about yet. Such as Wipeout 2048, Little Big Planet, Soundshape etc. Just unannounced to be playable, maybe?

It could be, but the general meaning of unannounced hints towards titles we dont know about. It doesn't mke sense for them to conceal the presence of games we know about already. HEAPS of devs have signed up to support Vita, and with its reported ease of programming, 18 titles are not impossible. Youre right about the notable omissions though, and if thats the case, big let down and misleading announcement!

I don't really see why they would not list them if they were going to be there, at least so many of them. There are times that games already shown don't appear on the list, but appears at the event. However, they are usually not listed as unannounced titles.
Perhaps the focus is on Japan launch titles and getting everything revealed. It could also have to do with the amount of space and time to show off all of these titles if there are actually 18 new titles(you also have all the PS3 and PSP stuff).
※ This exhibition information, 9 Mon 1 is the date range of information that can be disclosed.
※ The list 9 Mon 1 will only disclose information that can - at the time. (Other, unpublished titles: 18 Titles)

Crappy google translation, but this makes it sound like that other 18 titles are not listed because they are not able to disclose that information yet. There shouldn't be any reason why they couldn't disclose titles such as Wipeout 2048, Little Big Planet, etc.
I believe the previous years when the list listed unannounced titles, they were actually new titles. I am not positive since it is hard to find out what titles were actually playable at the booth. Here is last years list - http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/09/02/sony_tgs_list/ and here is the booth information from the actual event http://www.jp.playstation.com/tgs/2010/booth_information/
Yeah, but these things are always a bit vague. It might just be the kind of "we have this and that and those and these... AND MORE, come see for yourself" kind of deal.
And, for example, take a look at this list:
11 DS product
48 3DS product
17 Xbox 360 product
0 PlayStation 2 product
22 PlayStation 3 product
23 PlayStation Portable product
7 PlayStation Vita product
8 Wii product
33 iPhone product
33 Android product
A day or two ago they announced 477 out of the ~670 products that would be showed at Tokyo Game Show this year. Looking at this list, 3DS has the overwhelming majority, while Vita is dead last. Thing is, not all of those are actually games, but accessories and other non-game items.

No one tried to hide that they were non-game items though. Except for maybe some media sites, but the companies showing them off, Nintendo, etc. were not trying to pretend they are games.
Here is the official press release - http://www.jp.playstation.com/info/release/nr_20110901_tgs2011.html
This is actually Sony stating there are 18 unannounced PSVita titles, not just some media website trying to make a list seem bigger.
I think there is more than just the PSVita titles on the list(including the unannounced ones.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan ( SCEJ ) ※ 1 , the 9 Mon 15 day (Thursday) - 18 days (days) Makuhari Messe (Chiba) will be held at the "Tokyo Game Show 2,011 "( TGS ) will exhibit booth . The booth is scheduled for release later this year Vita PlayStation ® ( PS Vita ) serving as the nation's first field experience, and 30 , including a varied group of more titles, "PlayStation three" ( PS3 ® ) and PSP ® "PlayStation Portable" including unreleased titles for about 60 exhibition試遊title.
It says 30 there, but there are 31(including unannounced) PSVita titles listed and 60 total (including unannounced) titles for all 3 platforms on the list. The way the above quotes reads(although not a very good translation), makes it seem there is another group of PSVita titles not on the list.
I know it comes from Sony, but that still doesn't mean they'll all definitely be completely new games. They could just be games that haven't been announced for Japanese release yet (i.e. Wipeout 2048), not necessarily games we've never seen or heard of before TGS.
Damn, killer launch for Vita then.
Which ones are launch games?

There are games missing from the list that have been announced for Japanese release and there are games on the list that have yet to be announced for Japan. Why only list some and not others?
I don't doubt there could be more PSVita titles like Wipeout and LBP there. I just don't see why they would have them listed as unannounced titles and not others that would fit under the same reason as not being listed. I don't think all 18 or probably even near the majority will all be large titles, a lot of them could and probably will be small psn titles.
We probably won't even for sure which games the 18 titles were once the event is over. Just like the previous years, there will probably be a lot more than what is actually on the list. Actually, we can already confirm this. There is a missing Konami game (that AR game) that has already been confirmed to be playable at TGS(all which should be at Sony's booth).
Which ones are launch games?
Wipeout 2048
Super Stardust Delta
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Gravity Daze/Rush
Everybody's Gold/Hot Shot Golf Vita
Sound Shapes
Dragon's Crown (this hasn't been announced as a launch title per se, but since the launch was "delayed" to Spring 2012 outside Japan, it might be since it has a Spring 2012 release date)
Ruin
Shinobido 2
+ we know Capcom, Sega, EA & the like have said they have 2-3 launch games for Vita
+ Falcom has an unannounced RPG/game for at least Japanse launch (hopefully XSeed picks it up for a US release)
Those are probably the most notable ones that we know of, at the moment. Then there are probably some ports like Rayman Origins and the like.

From the TGS list, Disgaea 3 Return and Power Smash 4 (Virtua Tennis 4) are also launch titles. It is possible that all of the Vita games on the list are launch titles.
Btw, has the PSVita even been officially revealed in Japan yet? I noticed it doesn't have a product page at PlayStation JP website and it isn't listed on Amazon JP.

It just a rerelease like our Greatest Hits/Platinum range, they call it 'The best'.
Actually I hear The Best / Platinum / Greatest Hits edition of Hot Shots Golf / Everybody's Golf / Minna no Golf 5 comes with the Move / 3D update already installed.
Damn, killer launch for Vita then.
Tell me about it. The new handheld war is almost over before it's even begun.
Tell me about it. The new handheld war is almost over before it's even begun.
It's far from over. The new price has revived 3DS sales and even Nintendo's own soon to be released games like Super Mario 3D Land & Mario Kart 7 alone would be enough to spiral 3DS into a sharp upwards direction + there's a healthy line-up of upcoming games otherwise too, like Kingdom Hearts 3D, Beyond the Labyrinth, Tales of the Abyss, Paper Mario 3D, Ace Combat, Tekken, Theatrhythm: FF, Heroes of Ruin, Nano Assault, Ninja Gaiden, Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, Resident Evil Revelations, Rune Factory 4, Super Smash Bros, Time Travelers, Mighty Switch Force and others.
So... yeah, the war is hardly over, you'd have to be blind or an ignorant fanboy to think so.
It could go either way, but releasing more of the same (now with 3D) just doesn't do it for me.

Not sure about that but it would make sense. I think its been Platinum in EU for awhile though even before Move even launched. I think its about time we got Everybody's Golf 6 though, after they're done with the Vita game.
The PS3 zone will also have three unannounced titles.
? : o
And wow, Sony goin hard on the VITA scene. Good for them
*excited*

I wholeheartedly agree.

Come on, you know dam well the 3DS has more to offer than just that. There is no point to these comments - you're just letting the side down now frankly.
Anyway the only way to know what these 18 titles will be is to tune in on the day of the announcements - which I will be doing (either watching Live or following a Live text feed).

Found this, so it might be possible that games like LBP and Wipeout are among the 18 unannounced titles. Not really sure when all of these were officially announced for Japan and could have sworn Wipeout 2048 was shown at one of the Japanese events.

It is possible that the games in the link above that are not on the TGS list will not be playable at TGS.
Why is 'Little Busters! Converted Edition' listed as a PSVita game?

Wow Little Busters...chances of that ever coming here are -100%.
I don't think the 3DS is down and out just yet. But, personally I plan on sticking with the Vita as the line up of games it has are amazing. Not to mention Gust is working on several PS3 and Vita projects and more JRPG's are always welcome.
